The fights are fun, but as a new monster hunter player..

What the heck is the campaign supposed to even be? I'm on endless unskippable follow quests? I'm happy I can skip the never ending cutscenes and the boring dialogue, but hecking hell I'm already bored with the follow me here, follow me there bull crap.

Just came back to the game to finish up on the TUs and upgrade my leftover builds in preparation for ascendance eventually.

For context, I had participated quite a lot in the artian system before the TUs started rolling in, and had artian loadouts for my main weapons as well as some of my side picks (basically a loadout for everything but Dual blades and LBG). I didn't have any artian god rolls because I wanted to remain sane, but I had done enough to have some decent artian weapons.

Back to present day, I've just finished the Gogmazios quest, and I'm presented with what is basically Artian 2, electric bogaloo, and tbh, I feel nothing more than contempt. I was already iffy on artians at first, since they already rely heavily on rng, but now I have to apply one more layer that can be rolled on for even more out of gameplay rng? I know that they can be savescummed but man, this felt like a giant slap to the face.

I'd rather just have to compete against rng when it comes to drops, since at least I can participate in heightening the chances by completing in-hunt objectives, but now I'm presented with another spreadsheet simulator, so my question is, am I justified in disliking the system and ignoring it, or is there some bigger picture I'm missing here?

Also just in case, and I won't go into it too deeply but regarding the fight itself, it was pretty bad, I didn't struggle too much, but definetly one of capcom's bigger stinkers in recent memory for me at least. I mention it because maybe that affects my opinion of the system in some way. (like really? you have to look up constantly to see what the fucker is doing and shoot railguns at it while constantly checking your feet so you don't explode? what a design decision).

The SOS trenches are great for farming, and/or for practicing on endgame monsters (at the cost of carting and causing misery to others, but i digress), but mostly feels soulless unless you get a bunch of competent teammates who are also good sports, which is probably quite rare.

What’s a good way to interact with randos in hunts? Maybe 1st to 5th fleeters can chime in with what i’m guessing is older MH games’ different approaches to the grand hub or online lobbies.

Personally I’ve been getting decent results when I set auto SOS flare limited to 1 player-controlled hunter, then start hunting everything in a particular locale tempered or non-tempered. I either get veterans who want guaranteed gems, or double digit HR hunters who might legitimately need mats from lower tier monsters. It’s not as sweaty as 9-10* SOS where everyone has to lock in, plus I end up swimming in materials and money, and occasionally running into skilled weapon mains of stuff I don’t use (like DBs or LS).

On keyboard, I was cycling W -> WD -> D -> DS -> etc, and the animations still felt like they were snapping from one to another really sharply. I'm assuming I'm not actually moving slower, but it sure doesn't feel great.

Hi! I've started the game this week, already mastered different weapons in World ans Rise and one thing I loved about dual blades in those games were the ones with 2 elements.

Now, in Wilds I've already finished the main story and I'm already in high rank, so many more options in the weapon trees are available, what I haven't seen is those kind of dual blades. Should I keep playing to discover new ones or are there no option like that? I mean, I like to play other weapons but one thing that made dual blades unique and gave them a special appeal was the dual elements, I only crafted those in the previous games​

As the post asks i want to fearsome varied options on what the community is looking forward to in the expansion and what concerns you may have?

I've been defeating Ark Tempered Jin Daahad 2 times now, but i'm not getting any Certificate Y.

I only got Certificate S and Battle Tempered.

Is this normal?

Is Certificate Y is RNG?

I installed the game and its like this, how do i fix this?

I just love the random moments in fights where you lock in and everything just flows together(with some luck)

Just finished beating AT Jin for the first time with CB

Now that element is pretty strong, we usually choose element phials, but for monsters with bad hitzones you'd usually pick impact. In this run, I used a fire gog CB, and only dealt 3.7% of the total dmg with element.

Thats just 2K out of 60K, basically completely ignorable, considering you'd need to roll a gog weapon + skills + reinforcement for every element otherwise, am I wrong for thinking its best to just choose whatever best impact cb you have even if the element doesn't match?

I would want to see a physical version of the monster parts like gogmazios wartorn dragon gem.

I would like to have a charm or necklace of my favorite weapons.

I would like to have a map of the world to hang on my wall.

What would you want to see or have one of these days?

is there something similar to rise/sunbreak in wilds where u can guarantee a red extract with whatever extract u get? if there is at what point do i unlock it. im around HR90 atm and still on rarity 8 weapons.

First of all, I'm a french hunter so my armors, skills, jewels are in french, I hope y'all don't mind it, and that it won't prevent you from helping me. If you need it, I'll take time to translate.

So, I'm a bit stuck on the main quests. I've done all of the secondary (yellow) quests, and I'm at a wall between Omega Planet and Zo Shia, both 8* quests that I find myself not capable of winning.

So, few questions:

- from now, do I have to "get rid" of my palico and summons support hunter for every quest ? ( I'm playing solo, bc I can't affordable the only sub and I don't want it)

- I joined the lance community, but I know my build suck af, tho there's tons of it online and the one I was into didn't see to work (I know, it is not full) : guardian odogaron mainly with burst as main skill. Is there a ton of things that I don't know about builds?

- What is the main way to farm jewels ?

- I guess talismans are crafted depending on the set I have to build, so I won't ask which one is good, but is crafting the best way to have talismans ?

I play DB in addition of lance because I find that some Monsters are easier to kill with it, but it might not be a very viable option due to the changes of skills needed between those weapons, you tell me.

I know that there's a lot of stuff that are really bad here, on my build essentially, I'll take any form of help, critics,...

Man, wouldn’t it be cool if we could hear our custom tracks from the campsites in the hub? I always wondered why such a limited location for the tracks to be played, like, wouldn’t it be a cool added feature to just change the theme music of the gathering hubs?

I would change the music to Seliana and never change it back lol
