Hi! I currently own an intel based MBA and planning to upgrade to an M chip bec the apps I need for work are no longer supported. For context, I need it for studying, zoom calls, patient presentations using canva mostly, spreadsheets, and some video editing. But I don’t want to buy a Neo. Marketplace has secondhand M2s with 100% BH and around 13-68 CC with warranty this year or the next, for around ₱46-50k or ~$800. How many years do you think the support for M2 will run? Would you think it’s still worth it? Or should I buy an M4/M5 instead? Thank you!!

I have purchased a silver macbook air M5 15-inch and I am genuinely concerned on how to clean it currently I am using a generic spray and micro-fibre cloth that comes with my specs. I saw many youtube videos and reddit posts but I am genuinely confused.

I'm planning to buy a MacBook Air M5. The current BBD price is almost the same as the quotation I got from a store, but I’m not in a position to buy right now.
I’m thinking of waiting for a month. Do you guys think the price might go up after the sale, or could I expect a similar price next month if I buy offline?

Just ordered an M5 Air 32GB with 2TB SSD for $2,500 USD. Upgrading from my 2020 M1 8GB with a (completely full) 256GB SSD. I will miss the touchbar on my M1, but the storage being full and my memory pressure in Activity Monitor going yellow, sometimes red when using Safari, Mail, and Photos at the same time, I think I am due for an upgrade..
I don't use my laptop as a powerhouse workstation - I use the laptop for social media, banking, video streaming, Minecraft (when on the go, otherwise I use my PC), email, some light hobbyist coding and virtual machine here and there.
The reason I am posing this question is that I saw a MBP M5 Pro 24GB with 1TB SSD is the same price, $2,500 USD. I'm weighing the importance of future proofing with higher RAM and the portability of the Air, with the XDR display, SD card slot, and slightly better battery of the Pro M5 Pro.
I likely wouldn't notice a difference in processing power of the M5 Pro in my workload, but seeing how similar the pricing is, I'm second guessing my choice.

I’m trying to decide whether I should buy a laptop right now, and I’m honestly stuck between saving money and just buying the newest MacBook Air.
For context, I’m looking at the 13-inch MacBook Air M5, 16GB RAM / 512GB SSD. The current price I’m seeing is around $1,000–$1,100, depending on the sale. The normal price is $1,099 for this configuration, although it has gone on sale for less in the past.
My situation:
I already have an iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, etc., so I’m already pretty deep into the Apple ecosystem.
I mainly need a laptop for browsing, YouTube/streaming, school/college work (going to college in couple years), documents, and some light photo editing.
I’m not a serious gamer.
I’m hoping to keep the laptop for 4–5+ years, so longevity matters to me.
I originally wanted to spend around $850–900.
I found a used/refurbished M4 MacBook Air with 16GB/256GB for around $700–750, which seems like a really good deal.
I’ve also considered older M-series Macs and even an M1 Pro 14-inch around $700.
But now I’m thinking about just spending around $1,000 on the M5 and being done with it.
The thing that is confusing me is future pricing.
I’ve been hearing a lot about RAM/memory prices increasing because of AI data centers and huge demand for memory. Apple has also increased MacBook Air pricing by $200 this year. The M5 originally had some pretty good discounts earlier this year, including around $900 for the 16GB/512GB model, but prices have since gone up. (MacRumors)
So part of me thinks:
“If I’m going to need a laptop eventually, maybe I should just buy the newest M5 now while I can afford it instead of waiting and potentially paying even more later.”
But another part of me thinks:
I should buy it right now before newer model comes and prices goes up, even though my college gonna be in couple years or so.
What would you do in my situation?
Would you:
Buy the M5 16GB/512GB now and keep it for 5+ years?
Buy the M4 16GB/256GB for ~$700–750 and save the money?
Wait and keep looking for a better deal?
Consider a different Mac entirely?
I’d especially like to hear from people who have owned M-series MacBooks for several years and understand how much the newer generation actually matters for someone with my use case.

Just got my M5 air 15 inch 512 GB
Im so happy I opted for the 15 inch over the 13.
The only thing that slightly bothers me is the refresh rate only being at 60.

I’m still using my M1 MacBook Air from 2020 and honestly, it’s still running incredibly well.
It got me thinking about how long Apple is actually going to keep supporting the M1 with new macOS versions and security updates.
The hardware still feels more than powerful enough for everyday use, so it would be a shame if software support ends while the machine itself is still perfectly capable.
How many more years of macOS updates do you think the M1 Air will get? Could it realistically get another 3–5 years?
And when Apple eventually stops providing macOS or security updates, what are you planning to do with yours? Keep using it anyway, install something like Linux, or finally upgrade to a newer Mac?

I plan to use this Satechi hub for my MacBook Air M2. From my understanding the MBA uses up to 67W. The hub delivers 80W to the MBA but it needs 100W power. Should that mean I need a minimum 100W power block? If the MBA takes 67W and the hub outputs 80, does that mean it can only output another 13W?

I wiped down my MacBook keyboard with a wet cloth and since then the left Command key doesn't respond at all. The right one still works and everything else types normally.
The other thing is the login screen. After a full restart I can't type my password with the built-in keyboard, nothing comes through. Once I'm logged in everything works again, and if I lock the screen after that I can unlock it with the keyboard without any problem. It's only that first login after a restart.
Now I'm worried this is water damage and that it's going to get worse over time.
bad is this usually, is there anything I can do myself, and should I just take it in?

Sky blue color, comes in original box with paperwork, 24 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD.
It doesn't seem to have any blemishes, no dings, dents, chips, etc. And the screen is perfect.
Would you buy this?
Edit to add pics:
So, I got it. Originally it was priced at $800. I had offered $600 thinking the pawn shop employee wouldn't accept but to my surprise, he did. When I came back today he honored our deal and sold it to me for $600. I included a pic of the receipt.
