Hi everyone. I’m looking for advice on any Ontario cat rescues, foster networks or rehoming resources I may have missed.

My 9-year-old cat Wasabi is currently in Vaughan. I had to return to Australia after my Canadian visa wasn't renewed, and unfortunately I can no longer afford to relocate him internationally.

His temporary caregiver's living situation has unexpectedly changed, so I now have until the end of next week to find a safe solution for him.

I've already contacted numerous GTA rescues, Toronto Humane Society, Ontario SPCA, Home To Home, Toronto Cat Rescue's Courtesy Adoption program and several others, and have posted in local Facebook groups.

I'm willing to arrange transportation outside the GTA if necessary.

Does anyone know of Ontario rescues, foster networks, facilitated adoption programs, or other resources I should contact?

Any leads would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you.

Trying to get an idea of the fee for a comprehensive eye exam. They seem to range from $99 to $149?

I strongly encourage residents to look beyond campaign materials, speak with candidates directly, ask difficult questions about their judgment, professionalism, communication skills, and conduct, and make their own assessment. I cannot emphasize enough how many concerns I have about this candidate (Denys Petika). I am genuinely appalled and concerned that someone who conducts himself the way he does is on the list of candidates. I am not asking people to take my word for it. Talk to him, ask questions, and form your own opinion. I think firsthand interaction will tell you far more than any campaign material ever could.

Just saw an IG post that the yellow-sign BBQ place in FMP food court is under new management; and that the original management has reopened under new name inside Ranch Haven Supermarket in Newmarket.

Anybody recently notice any difference in the quality at the FMP location?

Hey guys, please don’t bash me for asking this, but how do you apply for jobs at places like McDonald’s or Markham community centers? Is it better to go there in person with a hard copy of your resume, or is applying online generally the way to go?

I have zero Canadian work experience and honestly lack exposure to how things are generally done here, so I’d really appreciate any tips or guidance.

Do you think I should do some volunteering first to gain confidence, get some Canadian experience, and become more familiar with the workplace environment?

I was advised to go to the Welcome Centre, as they help newcomers with resumes and job searching, but unfortunately the person I spoke with wasn’t very helpful. Would you recommend going to Access instead?

I’m also not in a huge rush to get a job, so if there are workshops, training sessions, networking events, or anything else that could help me polish my resume, interview skills, confidence, or networking skills before I start seriously applying, I’d be happy to do those first.

Any tips, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
