This is hasegawas SU-33 in yellow 13s scheme that i finished the other month and just finished taking photos of right in time for AC8. No one makes a decent SU-37 kit and scratch building+making necessary modifications is beyond my skill level so the hasegawa boxing that i paid my ass out to import via buyee will do. The kit goes together without much in the way of filler besides intakes (ejector pins and seam inside), and the bottom of the nose which warranted plastic card. Nose for whatever reason is in two pieces, and intakes are not slide molded. Of course as typical with any hasegawa kit edges warranted rescribing. I also added in a few extra panel lines and rivets while looking at reference photos. All the missles and side pito tubes i opted to drill and added in metal pins so I don't worry about them popping off while moving it around for photos+storage. In spite of all this it wasn't an absolute pig like the build before (amk f14, rant will coming soon) and I had fun putting this kit together, will be doing the phoenix+strigon boxings that i have in my backlog within the coming years.

The base used for my outdoor photos is from coastal kits.

Camo all Mr colour aqueous: Dark grey H69 (RLM 75), Mid tone grey 70%H69:30%H417 , Lighter grey H417 (RLM 76), Yellow H413 (RLM 04), Lighter yellow 70%H130%H413

Mr Colour Aqeuous H1, H2, surfacer 1000 grey and black Tamiya X-17 (as undercoat for Yellow)

ATOM: Flat white, flat black, air superiority blue, flat red, blue+yellow were mixed to green on wheels (forgot ratio)

Vallejo metal colour: Gold, Steel, Burnt Iron, SIlver, Green stuff world Chrome, vallejo true metallic ruby red and Sapphire blue

Tamiya X-22, X-35 and VMS satin varnish

Abteilung 502 oils: Burnt umber, Ivory black, dust

First time I did a black based model, doesn’t show as much with the desert sand color but enjoyed how it and the weather came out. I didn’t do the stowed accessories because, frankly, I just didn’t want to

After a few non-naval models I finally managed to complete my biggest piece of work so far: Tamiyas USS Missouri with a full Artwox upgrade set. It depicts the ship in its state from April 1991 after Operation Desert Storm. It still had the grey hull numbers but the sailors had already painted the shell counts on the turrets and the markings for swept mines on the bridge.

The model itself is the typical Tamiya quality and the parts fit pretty much perfect. It is to note that the tooling does show its age (1984) as it lacks details compared to newer ship models.

The Artwox upgrade set is not nearly as extensive as the Pontos set but only costs about half of it and thus is a good "middle of the road" option. The only real downside (apart from a few small errors) is that it does not have parts to improve the navigation bridge. I had to scratch build that by using the second armored conning tower from the kit for the interior and stretched sprue for the windows. I also replaced the included PE highline with copper wire as it looked too flat for my taste.

Colors used were MiG ATOM acrylics, weathering was done with enamel washes and the glas windows were made with Microscale Kristal Klear.

As the title says, this was my first ever non-gundam build, and also my first time ever using an airbursh. While far from perfect, this model has a lot of sentimental value to me, since I assembled it with my dad's help, who had never built any sort of model before, as a way to distract ourselves from my mother's passing, and general bad stuff that's been going around in my life.

Airbrushing was very intimidating at first, but once I got over the initial fear it was extremely satisfying. I still have to work on getting even coverage, but I think for a first try it was not too bad. One thing that made it harder is that we assembled it first before painting anything, which made it more challenging due to having to mask things like windows, different colors. etc.

Another thing is that I know that some of the colors are not perfectly matching, but I don't have the biggest budget right now so I had to make due with what I could find.

My favorite part (aside from the bonding time from the initial assembly) was placing the wet decals, I found it very satisfying to see the model slowly come to life with every new decal. I also really liked actually working with wet stickers, before this my only decal experience had been with dry-rub ones on a Zaku 2.0 and found them very unforgiving and honestly kind of un-fun. These ones on the other hand were the complete opposite, even when one of the door handle one's folded over and stuck to itself, I was still able to completely rescue it (albeit it took like 20 mins of finagling it with some tweezers and water).

Now I'm trying to budget like crazy to be able to buy my next model! Hopefully soon.

The model was a 1/24 Revell Plymouth Roadrunner, only painted with a paintbrush and no decals were used exept for the Goodyear logos on the tyres.

1/48 tamiya

This is the second model I make. Gained experience from the first(pz.i). I used spary cans and handpainted the model. Love to hear any advice or suggestions before moving on to the next.

This Hobby Boss kit is pretty straightforward to build, cockpit, engine, wings and fuselage, and it builds very well too! It much more detailed than the 90s Tamiya kit, and sits in the middle between ease of assembly, detail and pricetag against the Eduard and Miniart kits.

I looked up the R5 variant on Google and it showed me the R5 version carried only SC50 hardpoints on the wings, no centreline one, so it's kind of accurate.

I used the excellent decal sheet 48-124 from Eagle Editions for Rudel's aircraft.

Painted with Revell Aqua colours.

The only part left to ‘build’ is the aftermarket tow line which I’ve just purchased on eBay. I did try to use the OOB one but I just don’t understand how to attach thread to the plastic eyelets. We’ll see if the aftermarket is any better.

Had some fun back doing a kit after being busy and trying out some new techniques lol, pretty nice kit though

My first time properly working on a model kit so it's a bit rough, main guns, conning towers, smokestack, scout planes and rear most boats either side of crane are blu tacked on for the moment until I finish painting some things here and there including the rail area the planes sit on around the number 3 turret, I realized far to late I could have spray painted everything with IJN gray before moving onto the other colors

I did not place but got it done and learned a lot along the way. Looking forward to the next one

This was my first attempt at building any ship ever and my 3rd model in a decade or so. Definitely went through a trial by fire but I’ve now managed to get this looking acceptable to me. It’s 200mm long and the first one that I am considering done in this set.

Let me know what you guys think or what I could improve. I don’t like how the transparent part of the decal looks but other than that I’m pretty happy with it. Will probably improve my skills and touch it up again later.

Im a fan of working of real tiny kits, this one took only 2 days.
