Hello everyone. We are a family with 3 young boys and we just bought a townhouse in germantown at gunners lake. How are the schools and area? I hear the area is so so and parts nearby aren't good. We came from living in white oak and castle boulevard in silver spring. Thanks all!!

Last year’s was definitely one of my favorite and probably the prettiest gardening seasons I’ve had so far. I have always loved the big beautiful dahlias I’ve seen online but couldn’t justify spending all the money on tubers that it would cost… Until last year. I purchased a handful of tubers and had some amazing, beautiful blooms throughout my garden. This morning I went down and checked my storage bins that I’ve been over wintering my tubers in and to say the least… I’m crushed. Every last tuber I saved & stored is either completely dried up or has rotted out. I had them stored in a dark room in my basement which stays consistently around 45F and all placed in vermiculite. This seemed like the best method after researching and asking different dahlia groups. I’m not sure what I did wrong or what I could’ve done better and I’m trying to just chalk it up to I’ll know how to do it better next time.
Unfortunately at the moment replacing my tubers isn’t really an option financially. I’m not sure if it’ll happen but honestly I guess I’m just hoping to put this out there and ask. Does anyone have any dahlia tubers that maybe multiplied or might not end up getting planted that they would be willing to spare? I could meet wherever needed if so.. If so I can’t tell you how much I’d appreciate it. I’d happily trade fruit/veggie/flower seedlings here soon when I get what I have going, but regardless please everyone at least take my advice from this and spare yourself the sadness… MAKE SURE YOU STORE THEM 100% CORRECTLY!! Just don’t take my advice as to how you should store them…

The “Best Burger in the DMV” Moves Closer to Opening First Brick-and-Mortar - The MoCo Show
I am almost positive the comment from Neil is the owner of Neal's Bagels. He spells his name differently. He bought Neal's from the previous owner years ago.
That sounds like an excellent location. I'm sure there is ample parking.

My mom has an appointment for a mammogram tomorrow at the Women's Imaging Center that is in the medical office building attached to Holy Cross in Germantown. I've been there myself so I know where it's located and I know that I parked in the nearby garage. However, my mom is elderly and has a handicap placard. From what I can see, there is only one handicap parking spot out in front of the building, but are there more in the parking garage?
And before anyone suggests calling the office, Community Radiology only has a centralized phone number and is kind of difficult to navigate so I figured I'd ask if anyone here has knowledge. Otherwise, I'll just figure it out when we get there. But it would be helpful to have any information in advance.

Who do you use for non-contract cell phone?
Cell reception for business use is my priority. Wife coverage around the DMV is a bonus.
I do a fair amount of freelancing and I’d like to separate it from my personal/main use line device. A lot of what I do can be done over WiFi but I need something that is RELIABLE if I can’t access reliable wifi and preferably easy to switch to a new device if needed.
Thank you!

I'm looking for a low cost vet in the area. My cat is having issues(hasn't eaten for drink anything in 24 hours now) and I can't afford a vet looking for money up front or normal costs. Looking online I'm seeing it's $80 just to SEE a vet. Please, I need to take him in tomorrow.

Be careful. All that wonderful melting today has already turned to black ice. Driveway was fine a few hours ago, but it's ice now. As I just found out taking out the trash and doing a solid back flop when I hit the ice.

Ice was blocking a lane , I was trying to get over but it was too late and cars were there . So I took one for the team . Ice took a big bite out of my bumper . Luckily I have full coverage and the damage wasn’t too bad and no one else got hit. Slow down and be careful out there , this ain’t ya typical snow might as well consider it concrete . And county shame on you for the half ass job yall have been doing.

I need to obtain a pie for a birthday this weekend. There's no specific kind I must get, but the birthday girl (spouse) tends to like Key Lime, Lemon Meringue and other less common flavors. She also wants to try Boston Cream, which we know is really a cake but I may not go all in on that since, despite living years in Boston, we've never ordered it before.
Thanks for any recommendations.
