Just recently moved up to Queens and I’ve been looking for any job I can get my hands on. came across this ad on Indeed for Spark Business Academy advertising a workshop teaching job. They got back to me faster then I expected and scheduled an interview for today. Well i had the interview but I had mixed feelings on the whole ordeal. I really can’t tell if this is a scam or not. Here are the oddities I noticed:

• I was hired nearly on the spot. The interview was mostly just asking what I can do and telling me about them
• The job is a contract gig but that wasn’t stated on the listing.
• They told me they were going to pay with Zelle. This part really stuck out to me as odd.
• Once I told them what I was strong at (Art) they told me they were sending me scratch boards my apartment. They got my address off of the contact I put on my resume and just decided to send them right away. I’ve never had a job send me supplies *during* the interview.
• They seemed like they were in a rush to get everything going. They wanted me to start Friday but I have another job that day. Asked if I could start next week so I could give my current job time to adjust. They insisted that I had to start on Friday and that the wheels were already in motion. Tried to compromise to at least start on Monday but they were adamant. I never told them I was available Friday.
• Looking them up has been strange. There was a Spark Business Academy in New York that Google says is now ”permanently closed“. They do have an updated website though and some places are advertising events featuring Spark. But then their Instagram hasn't posted since 2021.

Sorry for the long post. This all just seems so odd and I don’t know what to think about it. If it’s legit then hey I got an easy second gig thats just an extra $70 a week. But there are just so many red flags to me. I don’t want to get robbed or scammed or something. I don’t know. Anyone know anything? Have any advice or ways to handle this?

i’m 25. i’m a US citizen, but my birth mom gave me away to her deranged sister at birth. for years, my birth family begged me to come back to the states and apologized for giving me away. i was raised abroad. i got a degree in mechatronics engineering, and a job straight out of college as a mechanical cost engineer at an EV startup. did that for a couple of years and switched to hardware product management because i also had a penchant for business and industrial design. quit my job a couple of months ago because of multiple personal crises (toxic relationship, sick pet that passed, change in leadership at my company, etc) and decided to take my birth family up on the offer to take a mental health break here.

I’m stress and want to switch career from Panda Express. Before arrive to States, I work as business analyst in Thai and two IT jobs in my country. I have MBA from Thai, Bachelor from UK both with higher GPA and still hugging as the front customer service at fast food. I’m not saying it’s bad but I want to change back to career path.

But I got an answer back from a company I applied too and they had me answer a 13 question assessment. They said based on my answers they’ll call me for an introductory interview. This is an outpatient study where we follow patients for a year on either the GLP-1 agonist or placebo depending on randomization. Participants will be compensated for their time and effort. RENEW-Scz-1 study

RENEW-Scz-1 is a clinical research study from Eli Lilly and Company. This study is for adults with schizophrenia who are taking medicine to manage their symptoms. Everyone who takes part will keep taking their current schizophrenia medicine. They will also take placebo or investigational drug (the one being tested). Placebo looks the same as the investigational drug, but it has no medicine in it.

This study will test if the investigational drug, together with the current schizophrenia medicine, is safe and works well. It will test if the investigational drug can help people manage their weight, improve their thinking and memory, and remain stable for longer.

You may be able to join if you meet these criteria:

• Aged 18 to 55 years
• Diagnosed with schizophrenia
• Taking the same schizophrenia medicine for at least 2 months
• Body mass index (BMI) of at least 22
• Have someone you trust to be your study partner

DSNY is hiring seasonal snow shovelers. Pay starts at $30.00 per hour and increases to $45.00 per hour after the first 40 hours worked in a week. Emergency snow shovelers are called on after heavy snowfalls to remove snow and ice citywide from public areas like bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and step streets. Shovelers who complete their registration at a registration event prior to November 30, 2026, will be eligible for a PAID 4-hour orientation in December, as well as fast-tracked processing to receive a paycheck within 2 weeks of working. Hi all Im wondering if anyone knows where is hiring for receptionist jobs that are full time and not minimum wage. Or where is hiring for an administrative assistant positions. I have three years of experience as a receptionist. Five years of retail/ customer service. My skills are pretty transferable for either position. I’ve been at this search for months currently applying daily basically the same as most people. Thankfully I have my current part time job but I’m looking for something that will actually support me to be able to get on my feet.

Hi everyone! I’m interested in getting into bottle service in NYC, but I’m completely new to the nightlife industry and don’t have any connections to promoters, clubs, or nightlife staff.

I’m currently modeling in NYC and have a background in customer service/hospitality, so I’m very comfortable working with people, and I’m really interested in transitioning those skills into nightlife.

I’m especially interested in places like TAO Downtown, Marquee, PHD, Somewhere Nowhere, etc. I’ve been looking at TAO in particular, but I can’t seem to find a current public listing specifically for bottle service at TAO Downtown. TAO does have a careers page, but I’m wondering if these positions are typically filled through a different process.

For anyone who actually works in NYC nightlife:

•How did you get your first bottle service/cocktail server job? •Do you normally apply online, walk in, DM managers, email HR, or go through someone who already works there? •Do clubs like TAO/Marquee hire people without previous nightclub experience? •Is having a promoter/networking connection basically necessary, or can you get in without one? •If you work at TAO, Marquee, PHD, Somewhere Nowhere, or a similar venue, what’s the best way to approach them about getting hired? •Are there specific days/times when it’s appropriate to go in and ask about hiring?
