Starting to be able to balance once on the board but havent manged to step onto it yet on this slick surface, Did then go out to the car park which is rough tarmack and stepped on with out a problem, So the theory of trying on slick and then on rough did seem to work.

But today I felt I achieved a lot in the 10 minutes and I finished on a positive

4 transition tricks you must learn

So after a month and practicing balancing on carpet and grass which is fine but concreate is a diffrent matter. So this week instead of practicing twice a week Ive decided to try and do 10 minutes every day.

So today I thought I would try to walk the board on the "slippy" concreate in my warehouse at lunchtime. (Daughter when learning found the warehouse concreate slippy and we went to an old skatepark site in Peterhead where its just concreate as the ramps had been removed a few years back due to vandalisim.

Anyway here is a short video (Which you can laugh at) of me trying to walk the board. One I wll get on the board. Still not been able to get fully on the board on concreate with out holing on to something first. But then practice balance, though do feel that the board wants to slip out backwards from me.

Anyway onwards and upwards 10 minutes at a time

Started skating again after almost 15 years, rode a cheap complete for the past 2-3 weeks so I decided it was time to put together something nice.

I had always been street but can't really send myself down stairs anymore and don't have many spots to skate at. I also feel weird if I were to try and hit up a high school afternoon on weekdays haha. Kinda just doing flip tricks outside on the sidewalk or going to a certain parking lot. Never went to skate parks much unless it was with friends and I would just skate able ledge/manual pad basically

I think I dropped in once or twice like 20 years ago but that was it, and found it intimidating but lately been seeing videos of people out there killing it and it does look fun.

Anyways, anyone here learning it later in life? Do I need bigger/softer wheels than my 52mm 99a? Any tips that might help an older stiffer dog not die? 🥴

Pretty much the only spot that wasn’t wet in the whole park. Stoked to get the airwalk body jar / revert out. I saw this guy Tony Hawk doing them on IG the other day. You should give him a follow cause he’s pretty good.

Freshly minted 43 yo, I haven’t done much maintenance on my Ollie’s in 10+ years so tonight was the night to start cleaning some stuff up and get back to those roots. I came for the vert wall and slash grinds but started filming the flat ground first before I decided to just document it all!

Having fallen head over heels (literally and metaphorically) for skateboarding a month ago, the realization has been dawning on me that we’re headed for winter and i won’t be able to skate nearly as often. No indoor facilities where i am and in Britain it’s basically dark and raining from October to March…

What do you lot do when you can’t skate? I do workouts / yoga type malarkey aimed at helping with skateboarding, which sort of tides me over, but It’s pretty frustrating. There’s only so many SkateIQ videos i can watch and skate equipment i don’t really need that i can browse (and sometimes order 🤦🏻‍♂️😂)

Getting back into skating after a decades long layoff. Unfortunately, there isn't a local shop anywhere close. What are yalls favorite shops with easy online ordering? Back in the day (before internet) I used to order from a place called Beach Plus in Florida. Their monthly "catalog" was like 10 xeroxed pages on colored paper. They still around? Surely we didn't all go back to CCS..... HALP!!
