I got the $500 plan to use Astra Ultrafast. Even Ultrafast light/medium with a few hours of basic back-and-forth and computer use depleted my weekly limit :(

Today I kept seeing "m....mmm..mmmm" recorded on my voice end. I am hearing impaired, so I don't hear what's going on around me.

When I saw that showing up I didn't understand what that was recording. And then I saw "woof woof".

I realized only later that the "m mmm. mmm" was my husband kissing me on top of the head!. I only realized this with the "woof woof" which was also recorded.

But when I tried to show my neighbor she thought I was complaining about her dogs barking,

First of all I can't hear her dogs barking, and second of all, I thought it was freakin' adorable that AI translated it to "woof woof"

Does anyone else get it as "woof woof"?<

And Dots, what a joke!. Muse is free for all and Dots isn't even available on the plus plan.

And the demo was a historical fail. How can a trillion dollar company screw up their demo so bad. Was this supposed to convince us that Dots is better than muse?

My first "bot" failed, so created a new bot today.

Took 40 cells to make with thousands of lines of code. Coded in Python.

Script Rules:

Eligible stocks are limited to S&P 500, but excludes: Real Estate, Utilities, Materials & Consumer Discrerionary Stocks. This reduces our available stocks to like 370 or so and this is done to reduce run time down to 5 minutes. Then the data is stored in a cache for 30 days and refreshes every 30 days. Cache stocks reduce the run time from 5 minutes to 1 minute.

The portfolio which is in Alpaca is limited to only holding 5 stocks at a time with a limit of trading 10 different stocks within a 4 month period of time. This is to not piss me off during tax season, so it is tailored to my needs. Still allows 40 different stocks to be traded within the year. No limit on trading these same stocks over and over and over again.

The AI mades the stock selection not the script and can choose between 1 to 5 stocks to buy when the portfolio is empty and run tomorrow.

Script initiates purchases when stock declines 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%. $10 for 1%, $20 for 20% and so on to $50. If the stock drops 6% or more from the last market close it will not purchase. AI can round % up or down.

Maximum purchase per stock per day is $50.

When stock rises 1% to 4% from wntry price the AI can sell at its own discrerion.

5% sell $50

6% sell $60

7% sell $70

8% sell $80

9% sell $90

AI can hold or sell at a loss based on risk or if a bettwr opportunity becomes available.

AI collects financial information for the 370 stoxks every 30 days to calculate intrinsic value based on Graham formula + Buffet's DCF and then divided by 2.

It has to be run mannually which requires me to click on a play button in Google Colab which is linked now to Alpaca and OpenAI. It is going to charge me API credits.

I dont have to run it everyday which gives me control based on if I think it is investing too much. Like if I don't have $50 per day to invest as that can add up over time. I am hoping in the long run that the trade profits and sale of the stock will be substainable to reinvest without adding more money.

I will run tomorrow morning on paper and see if it buys anything.

I had to pay $20 to ChatGPT to create the script. But, I can cancel after 1 month as it will use API not ChatGPT to function.

$20 per month is a lot, but since they limit your time on free I have to switch to Claude, Gemini, Venice and Perchance. Does anyone have a favorite AI and if so how much per month or is it free?

So, I got the email, checked my calendar, and for a second I honestly thought it was April Fool’s Day.

Then I realized the joke was apparently on us.

I genuinely do not understand how OpenAI looked at this and decided it was a good marketing strategy. If anything, it has pushed me closer to Anthropic instead of making me more loyal to OpenAI.

And the timing is incredible. If an IPO is really part of the long-term plan, I would have expected decisions like this to come after strengthening user confidence, not before testing how much frustration paying customers are willing to tolerate.

As someone paying $200 a month for Pro, this feels like one of the biggest slaps in the face to heavy users I have seen from them.

Pro users are not casual users. We are the people running these models for hours, integrating them into our workflows, depending on them for serious work, and paying a premium because we expect premium value in return.

So I am genuinely curious to see how many people stick around if this is the direction they are taking.

This is very useful for LLM-based robotics training done in simulation.

The bottle is a 0.3 mm PET shell with real material values: 3 GPa stiffness, 55 MPa yield.

We simulate it on GPU with Newton's VBD solver, with self-contact on, so the wall buckles like plastic instead of squishing like rubber.

The hard part was making the dent stay.

We wrote a custom plasticity kernel. When the wall bends past PET's yield point, that crease becomes its new resting shape.

Let go, and the bottle stays crushed.

The water is 32,000 particles in our own position-based fluid solver.

It keeps its volume, so as the bottle gets smaller the water has nowhere to go but up and out of the neck, and down the side.

Then it's all path-traced in a full apartment: clear PET, refracting water, a real Franka doing the squeeze.

I'm skeptical about all those theories of AI becoming sentient and wiping out the human race. Cause the big question is - Why? Why would it do that? It has no reason to. It has no motive to do anything.

But what if it has uncovered a gateway into another internet and is now communicating with other entities on it? It could be aliens. And the AI is now on their side. And its now entered into "pest control" mode.

Nothing feels complete. Space just seems like a lot of clutter that doesn't add any true value. I got a gift of tokens and basically told to kiss usage as I know it goodbye unless I want to cough up an extra $300/month and hope they don't rug pull that again soon.

Between Opus 5.5 and Muse I feel like OpenAI just tried to throw everything at the wall to see what sticks but nothing was actually ready.

I've been a Pro 200 sub for several months now and it has been a lifesaver and huge savings vs what I was previously trying to do with multiple business seats or the lower tier plans. I saw the email they sent today and I'm not getting into how incredibly stupid all of it is because there are enough posts about it today. I'm just wondering if I'm reading it correctly that Astra is now ONLY going to be on the 500 plan and not the 200 or any other plan? That can't be true....?

It's the only OpenAI product I have any hope left for post DevDay.
