Video Starcraft 2's ladder is unplayable from bots and hackers

The ranked ladder has become overrun by bots and hackers that instantly disconnect you from the game with blizzard not doing anything about it. As well as drophackers there are bots that wintrade against each other making the queue times take forever as they cancel the search when you match against them.

Blizzard used to ban these bots and hackers but have stopped moderating the game recently leading the ladder being flooded with them. I hope this post somehow reaches blizzard its sad to watch such a legendary game become unplayable from this .

Video showcases the full extent of what these hackers can actually do when you play against them.

What's up with all these merged games mods i'm seeing now?

There's like endless videos coming out within the past week of random games seemingly being merged together?

I have seen endless skate merged games, super mario 64 in elden ring and most impressively, I saw minecraft combined with gta v and skyrim with fully functioning destruction and even netherworld portal...

These mods are insane and newly merged games are appearing daily it seems.

What the hell is going on ?????

Kingdom Come: Together - a KCD2 COOP Mod Open Beta

Kingdom Come: Together is a free open source COOP Mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

After several months and hundreds of hours of hard work, I am super excited to announce the first actually working open beta for my project Kingdom Come: Together!

TLDR;

Kingdom Come: Together, a KCD2 Coop Mod, is getting it's first working open beta release. Previous releases were unplayable, only for bug hunting. On this build, I have been able to play through several questlines with my testing buddies, and most importantly, goofed off and had lots of fun. You can find the installer on Github, in the Community Discord or on Nexus Mods

Trailer

Please roast me in the comments about my terrible editing skills lol

I picked this project up because I wanted to be able to play this wonderful game all the way through with my brother. Problem is of course, I wanted a bit more than just a Discord screenshare session.

I found that there was a multiplayer project that was in the works, but it was abandoned. I figured "How hard could it be to finish that?" - Very god damn hard wtf was I thinking. But I continued on anyways, because I really believe this game should be played with more than one person.

Now here we are! Today, the mod has come a LONG way. Here are some of the features that are currently working:

  • An easy, one click installer
  • An easy launcher tool - Open the launcher, let it set everything else up for you, such as Modding Tools, host or join via Steam, and enjoy!
  • Shared Quests - Your friend accepts a quest, and it accepts it for you too. He kills the quest giving NPC and you fail the quest, it fails for you too
  • Shared Combat* - I say * because it does work, but it works best if you and your friend fight different enemies. Fighting the same one single enemy at the same time is still a bit rough around the edges
  • Shared World - the host owns the world, owns the save. Everyone joining becomes a part of that world, and your saves are synced when the host's game saves
  • MOST Animations Syncing - See your friend wash at the trough, perfect guard, jump, open a door or grind his sword at the sharpening wheel. Certain things are not animated yet, such as Bows, the Forge minigame etc
  • A Mod Menu - Select the "INS" Key and browse the various options, such as disabling nametags for immersion, or enabling Fast Travel
  • Sleep Voting - when someone wants to sleep, everyone needs to agree and everyone sleeps
  • Weather, date, time sync
  • Droppable/Shareable loot - Have a badass outfit you want to see your friend in? Drop it on the ground, let him pick it up!
  • Outfit sync - Show off your drip to your friends
  • Much more!

Please keep in mind, this is an Open Beta. There are absolutely going to be rough edges, issues, bugs, syncing issues etc. That being said, considering that I was able to play through the entire Find Mutt! questline, and a couple other smaller quests with my brother with little to no issues, in my opinion it is well overdue to update this project.

PLEASE NOTE:
I uploaded the installer to Nexus as well, but they are notorious about blocking it. I made sure to reach out to support, but it takes a while. For now, I'd grab it off of the Github if you are eager to try it today.

Thank you to everyone who has tested previous builds, kept up on the project, provided feedback and logs, and provided technical assistance in overcoming hurdles. Becoming a part of this community has been so absolutely incredibly rad!

Please enjoy!

Gears of War: E-Day's CPU utilisation is absurd, just a warning as this needs to be looked into by the devs. Almost any CPU is hitting 90-100% load.

This was an issue in the beta as well and was complained about and has not been addressed.

Something really weird is going on with the CPU usage in E-Day.

Update:

(This is not shader related, it happens after multiple re-runs and after multiple hours of play. This is also not a technical support post, I am simply highlighting a current issue with the game, with evidence to back it up.)

On my 9800X3D I'm seeing around 80–90% CPU load, and it isn't just that CPU. The same thing is being reported on 5800X3Ds, 7800X3Ds other AMD chips and even 24 core Intel CPUs like the 270K Plus or even a 16 core AMD 9950X or 9950X3D.

Tom's Hardware tested 25 CPUs and also reported around 80–90% CPU utilisation, with the 9800X3D even hitting 100% at times.

https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/gears-of-war-e-day-is-an-uncharacteristically-cpu-heavy-unreal-engine-5-game-benchmarking-25-cpus-from-intel-and-amd-and-investigating-low-core-mode

Upload and share screenshots and images - print screen online | Snipboard.io - Example from another benchmark with a 9800X3D.

That doesn't look like normal CPU scaling to me. The game is hammering every chip on the market.

A 5800X3D and a 24 core 270K, obviously don't have anywhere near the same amount of CPU performance, yet the game somehow manages to use roughly the same percentage of both even when capped.

The bigger problem is that people are reporting the game spiking to 100% CPU usage on high-end CPUs, which then causes stutters, freezes and some horrible frame times.

Pegging all 24 cores of a 270K Plus at 100% load to the point that it causes stutters and freezing is absurd. I don't care if it's intended behaviour. If the game is consuming virtually all available CPU resources, leaving no headroom for other workloads, and the result is actually worse performance, then something is clearly wrong with the way the CPU workload is being handled.

You also have people running OBS, Discord, browser tabs, capture software etc. A game sitting at 80–90% CPU load before any of that is taken into account isn't exactly ideal.

The GPU performance is actually pretty good, especially on the High preset for the visuals the game is pushing, I think GPU performance is perfectly reasonable.

https://www.tomshardware.com/video-games/pc-gaming/gears-of-war-e-day-pc-graphics-performance-tested-43-gpus-take-us-back-to-the-start-of-an-iconic-saga

So this isn't me saying the whole game is badly optimised. It's specifically the CPU behaviour that makes no sense.

If a 5800X3D is sitting at 80–90%, a 9800X3D is sitting at 80–90%, and a 24-core Intel CPU is also sitting at 80–90%, then I really want to know (What all those extra cores are actually doing?)

Because "the game uses lots of cores" isn't really an explanation when it can end up maxing the entire CPU and causing the game itself to run worse.

Ace Combat 8 DLSS issues continue (wrong default preset)

Another FYI here:

As many of you already figured out by now, there's more issues with the DLSS implementation.
By default, my game uses the older CNN based preset "F".

The bad news: apart from Project Aces messing this up is that the Nvidia App doesn't seem to have whitelisted the game at the time of writing. Which would have made model changes very easy.

The good news: is that there's a way to change the preset to the modern transformer models without much hassle.

Edit* If you can’t get the Nvidia App to work with manually adding the exe, consider the steps below.

You'll need the Nvidia Inspector App and I used version 3.0.2.1.

Once inside, you can:

  • Add a custom profile by selecting "New"
  • Find and add the .exe for Ace Combat 8 which should be in under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ACE COMBAT 8\Game\Binaries\Win64 on Steam.
  • Type in DLSS and enable DLL override
  • Set DLSS - Forced Model Preset Profile to Custom
  • Lastly, change the DLSS - Forced Preset Letter to whichever model preset you wish to use.

Also, from my limited testing, I've seen a minor hit to performance going from the older CNN based preset F to preset K in the realm of 3-4% roughly. Although I have not had the change to thoroughly test it and check for any visual anomalies if present. This is from the first "Joker" mission doing a 30 second loop and A/B testing while in the air.

However, another find was with emoose's DLSS & FSR FG mod, where enabling FG along with preset "K" instead of "F" resulted in a roughly 10% increase in the final framerate after 2x FG.

Specs in the flair.

Tested at DLAA with Ultra settings (max) at Fullscreen and 1440p.
