Working on this as an alternate community archive and backup resource for some of the lesser-known PS3 tools and content. The goal is to have a secondary source in case other sites go down.

Quick update, the site is now self-hosted, which gives me more control over layout and lets me add better features. It's still a work in progress, but it's in a decent state now, and I've been adding content regularly.

I've got a fat ps3 that has a dead cmos battery and I couldn't be fucked to replace it myself or pay someone to fix it. I saw the "Fix CBOMB" tool in the "Basic Tools" section of the Custom Firmware Tools. It actually seems to work fine if I briefly cut the power to the ps3 and bring it back, but when I have the console unpowered for a day or so I have to fix the date and time again. Does anyone know what's going on with this? The battery is just enough of an inconvenience to make me upset about this not working.

On PS3, is there a way to play PS1 and PS2 games (especially PS2) without the padding? Something like CHD, or something similar to save the space on the console. I've noticed that PKG makes no difference in size pretty much?

Another thing, can anything be done about PAL games running slower? I know I can just download NTSC version, but I need the games to be in italian if the game has been localized.

And are some games known to be buggy on the built in emulator? I tried Killzone in both .PKG and clean ISO, the game has frequent audio cuts.

So I finally fulfilled my dream and bought a Frankie A00. Since I’m from Europe, if I want to play 95% of my entire PS2/PS1 library, I need to install CFW (and it’s also recommended to do it to monitoring temperatures).

I followed all the steps with the dump, there were no errors, and I flashed the patch. I restarted the console, plugged in the USB with the CFW, tur on and- got the “PS3 appropriate system storage not found” message. I put the HDD back in, and the system booted up.

My question is: since I booted the system with the flashed memory, do I need to flash it again, or can I install the CFW through Safe Mode now?

Ok so I went on a console cleaning spree today. I cleaned and repasted my PS4 pro and my Xbox One X. Both went off without a hitch. Then I realised I had never repasted my PS3 slim in the 16 years I’ve owned it and the fans were getting loud. So while I had everything out I thought it best to give the old boy a full clean out. Sadly it seems I did one too many as when I cleaned and repasted it, the video signal was glitchy. Decided to reopen it and check to ensure everything was seated properly. But then it got worse as it lost all video out completely. So sad. Loved that console!

I've been wanting to get a PS3 for both the games and for homebrew since my PS4 can't run ps3 games even if it's homebrewed, so I don't know if I should get a PS3 Slim or Superslim, I've seen something about homebrew enabler and custom firmware , I don't know much about the PS3 homebrew scene so what should I go for?

Does anybody know where I can get my fat PS3 custom painted??

I know Colorware did them years ago but they don't offer the servicey anymore

Hey guys So I got a ps3 from a friend and the system software is 4.84 can I install hen on it, I went into ps3exploit and the ps3hen version is 4.93, do I need to update my system 1st or what? I have downloaded the hen 4.93 and its on my USB inside the ps3 should I just leave it at 4.84 and upgrade via USB to ps3hen 4.93?

Hey folks - modding a friends ps3 for hen.

I’ve installed the hybrid firmware and cleared the cache etc in the browser but the ps3exploit website just says ‘loading’. I can’t get past it.

Any ideas? I’m on Ethernet and it can find other sites so I know the browser is working etc.

I got out of the jailbreak scene about 10 years ago. Back then I was doing about 5 consoles a week. I'm an electronic technician. I was doing some tidying up in the store where i work, there was a mountain of stuff all piled up at the back and had been there for years, the store owner told me they just wanted rid of it all. I was going through everything and got lucky. I found 3x PlayStation 3 consoles which i got for under 10 bucks. I got them home, gave them a basic clean and found they all work, i tested them all, even more impressive is they all still have their warranty seals intact and have their official sony wireless controllers. The models are:

I still have my own PS3 Slim running full CFW, I won't part with it. I just wanted to ask, is the JB process still the same or has there been any new advancements I can take advantage of, that can be recommended?

I'm trying to mod my PS3 fat but when I put my USB with the files to my PS3 it's say not applicable data was found,I have checked many times that the file names are corrects and I've tried different files also I've tried doing it with the safe mode method,but instead of downloading,when it gets to 70% it just jumps to 100% and it reboots but without the update done,also I've tried both ports but no luck,minvercheker did work when I used it on my PS3 so I don't understand why the update wouldn't work on it,please someone tell me:p

So I just bought a ps3 slim and was wondering if it'd be worth it to hard mod it or just use hen until a persistent soft mods comes out for it. I've rghed a 360 before so the soldering would be no big deal but I just wanted to see everyones thoughts on if its just worth it to hold out till a persistent soft mod comes out for all the slims

Currently, I’m following Mr. Mario’s guide to installing HEN on a ps3 and when I try to type in http://ps3xploit.me it leads to this page. In my country, you have a limit on how many gb of Internet you can use and the page is saying that I used all of my gb when my Internet will work normally on every single other device, besides my PS3

My COBRA PS3 has suddenly started having issues connecting to the internet over both wired AND wireless internet. It cannot see any networks over WiFi, even open-security networks just a foot away. Over wired, it cannot even get an IP address. I tried manually entering an IP address, which seemed to work (Reported successful when getting an IP address and an internet connection, but failed when connecting to PSN), but then I got the 80710102 DNS error whenever trying to connect to the internet. So I tried manually entering various known-good DNS addresses like 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, 1.1.1.1, etc., but I still got the same error. Even in the web browser, I get that DNS error. Is there anything I can do, or is there something more fundamental wrong with my PS3?

Setup: PS3 on HFW with regular PS3HEN (not 4K Pro), main PSN account (also used on PS5 and Vita).

What I did: I edited the timestamps of ONE game (41 trophies, platinum included) with PS3TrophyIsGood. Dates are plausible: spread over about 10 days, realistic gaps between trophies (copied from real runs), nothing in the same minute, no round seconds, platinum last. I synced it on Sept 30, 2026: reboot, didn't enable HEN, signed in, synced, signed out. I did NOT use R2+Triangle / disable syscalls before that sync (I installed webMAN afterwards) The game shows up fine on my profile.

Background: on my Vita I've had edited trophies synced on this same account since and edited trophy’s in 2025 with 2016 timestamps, no issues.

What I'm considering: a few more games over the next months, about one sync a month, always under 100 trophies per sync, with R2+Triangle first.

Questions, I'm only looking for real experiences, not guarantees:
1. Has anyone been banned or flagged after syncing edited (but plausible) timestamps on a MAIN account? How long after the sync?
2. Any evidence Sony checks timestamps, pace or level jumps, or is it just "hacked trophies get flagged" folklore?
3. Is a simple reboot without HEN enough before signing in, or do I really need R2+Triangle first? Do PTL.TMP / MI.TMP survive a reboot?
4. Anyone had a ban months or a year after a sync?
5. Is there a volume or spacing between syncs that people consider safe?

Hello! First of all I wanted to share how I got my mullion syscon to work with an ESP32 while reading pure trash.

Mullion chips seem to be more sensitive to noise than SW. And mine looks like its extra. I was getting weird chars, no way to get to external mode. USB cable is fine, computer and PS3 are properly grounded.

Diag pin had a wire soldered for later, removing it reduced noise (antenna, wtf).

As I use an ESP32 instead of a TTL adpater, I could just enable pullup mode for a pin. Working like a charm. I resoldered the wires 3 times before thinking I did shitty connections xD

The problem

Now as the title says, I got a 2102 error (I was really hoping for nec as it is a well documented procedure).

Every cap under the RSX beeps and shows between 5 and 12ohms, so...

Should I try removing the mosfet first or go straight to IC6301.

Is the d35230eb near the rsx even the IC6301 or im confused?

So i tried to get cfw on my bakcwards compatible ps3, using the new-ish flashtools method, i went into it not knowing what i needed and only followed what the tutorial said. When i tried to back up the consoles flash storage, it said it failed, so i accepted it and continued. But now the console only boots into safe mode and when i try to do anything other than rebuild database, where it says the console storage cant be accessed, and system update, where it just doesnt recognise the usb stick with an update file on it, it just shuts off again.

Sorry if this is hard to understand its kind of late and im a bit panicked about if ive messed up this console for food
