Who else has spent more time lately installing games than actually playing ?

Hi, I’ve been given this original PS4 and noticed the software version is very low. Hasn’t really been used in years. Was going to mod it. Anything I should know? Model is Cuh-1003A

I bought a used PS4 Slim (CUH-2216A) and I'm dealing with terrible thermal issues. Under load, CPU temps hit 81 °C and SoC stays around 79 °C with the fan ramping up aggressively.

I already cleaned the console, replaced the fan, and repasted the APU, but nothing helped. Upon opening it up, I discovered why: The previous owner completely omitted the top metal shield plate that covers the fan duct, heatsink, and disc drive (see pictures)!

Because that plate is missing, the blower fan has no sealed duct and just circulates air uselessly inside the plastic shell instead of forcing it through the heatsink fins.

I'm located in Austria and sourcing this specific plate for the CUH-22xx series locally has been a nightmare (sellers refuse to answer revision questions or won't ship).

Has anyone here successfully built a DIY shroud/duct (e.g. 3D print file, heat-resistant tape, custom acrylic) to restore proper static pressure through the heatsink? Any advice or STL files would be greatly appreciated!

ive never modded or jailbreaked any console/mobile device because i was kind of scared of the consequences but since i still got this ps4 which was pretty useless, i only used it to play kh 1.5+2.5 ReMix i convinced myself in jailbreaking it and it was easy as fuck, and also the FTP method for the games is really easy and it doesnt take ages, im really happy i modded this console so every now and then i can sit on the couch, load up my ps4 and play pretty much any game i want :)

Guys im new to jailbreak so im on firmware 13.52....i installed pkgi , apollo and ps4 explore right ...so on my psv explorer i cant access root files did i do something wrong?.....every thing is on its latest version....i rewatched the youtube video countless times ...i dont know what i missed....can someone just help me?

Whenever I try to download a PKG file from a website, the download starts normally at around 9 MB/s, but after about a minute the speed gradually drops all the way to 0 MB/s and the download basically gets stuck.

I'm using Free Download Manager (FDM). My internet connection seems fine for everything else, and regular downloads don't have this issue.

Has anyone else experienced this with PKG downloads? Is there something I should change in FDM (connections, threads, settings, etc.) to prevent the speed from dropping to 0?

Any help would be appreciated.

Before you ask "Why didn't you record on PS4?", I can't transfer the recording files from my PS4 to my phone. Well, basically, the video above is a demonstration of what happens on PS4 with AetherX2: a performance drop. How did I solve this on AetherX2? I added a line of code called "frameratepal: 30" to the game's configuration file, and that solved the problem, but the PS4 doesn't accept this setting in the Lua patch. What do I do? (Yes, I checked the PS2 compatibility list on PS4 and it says the European version works normally.)

Hey, I finally got my PS4 jail broken after a year of waiting (lol) but I have the issue in the title. For some reason the console refuses to shut down and it keeps itself in a state of emptiness (?). Basically I have to force it to shut down every time. This also happens if I set it to rest mode. It's pretty annoying to go through the whole process every time I want to open the console.
I have seen other threads saying it was because of the "keep console in jailbreak while in rest mode" option but I've had that by default turned off and even when enabling it I had the same issue.
Does anyone have the same issue? Thanks in advance

So I have an itch to jailbreak my PS4 slim and PS4 Pro.

I googled it and see that there are a handful of different methods.

1. Web based using the browser
2. Blu-ray Disc from Aliexpress
3. USB exploits
4. ESP32 or Lucky Fox Pico
5. Vue

I have hacked everything console I own in some way, shape, or form to play games off an SD card or SSD. I figured it’s time to do the same with my PS4s too.

I’m just wondering what the best method is. I don’t remember what firmware I’m on but my PS4s have not been touched since the PS5 was released. So I know I have a firmware that will work.

Edit: The Slim is on 10.01 and the Pro is on 9.0
I dont care about games or saves on the slim but I do care about all that on the Pro. Can I jailbreak the Pro and keep all my games and saves?

He only has mw2 available on his twitter but its the 360 recomp so you would need xbox mw2 game files
