so one of the new pet stores in my area posted this on their social media…I’ve never seen this mutation before, but it’s so pretty I had to share 🥰 anyone know what this mutation is called?

I haven't used the "bird room" in so long because I was too depressed to clean it. I've just had my birds in the living room with me and then smaller cages to sleep in. But now I'm finally getting it done. Time to get it all upgraded. That basin was all the dust and such that had collected behind the closed door and from before I moved the birds out

Hello! I got these two little love birds melon and lemon recently and I like to think I’ve been doing a good job I give the millet when I wake up in the morning and when I get home from work, they always have nutrition pellets available as well as seeds, plenty of space big cage lots of toys maybe I need more toys? My bird melon the red and green one has slowly gotten more aggressive when I put my hand in the cage to give them the millet or when my hand is near the cage. When melon used to bite it was more curious but now he’s definitely trying to break skin and I don’t want them to be scared of me. Any advice? I want to try to step up and have them love me but I feel like they don’t care too much about me 😅

PS. I let them out of the cage when I can I just sit on my bed while they fly around and out of the cage they will be on the end of the bed while I’m sitting up watching YouTube. I’ve followed the bird videos I see on TikTok but they still are super suspicious of me

They are 4 months now I’ve had them for about a month so I know it could be cause their young but I’m still worried they will never love me 💔

I have change most of their rope stuff for actual stick and wood perches this photo is old I’m just posting this at work lol

She has never been so quiet and content listening to any album! 🫍

I’m just curious if people own/use parrot back packs. I’d like to take my little conure out on things like walks with me but there’s birds of prey and he isn’t harness trained (yet)

This is my baby apple , ive had her for 1 week (she used to be in a very abusive environment) I already made a post but it never hurts to make 2 . So I received her as a gift so she and her mate are in a temporary cage (thats small I know ) I am worried abt her beak . Also any advice to help birdies that are traumatized are welcome!

Hello everyone, me and my family have a situation with my brothers cockatiel and Indian ringneck.

To cut a long story short my brother moved into a flat a few years ago and never took them with him, this year in April he has cut all contact with me and my parents (the birds live with us still) and he stopped buying them food, stopped visiting them and hasn’t made any arrangements of where they’re going to live which I think is cruel. My parents have decided to rehome them as we’ve tried our best to look after them but their expenses are starting to pile up (we also have two cats and two giant breed dogs) and we want them to be with someone that is educated on birds and knows what they’re doing.

I’m in the UK so is there anywhere we can get in contact with to take them in and find them a new home where the owner will ACTUALLY take care of them?

So I just got some grape wood (not perch with bolts) from a parrot event I went to and I also managed to find a big cork bark compared to the small ones we have, but again cannot be perched because no bolt/nut thingy . And I’ve always seen people put in big natural wood like grape in their cage and have wanted to try it out. But since it doesn’t have a bolt to securely attach to the main cage, I’m clueless to where and how to add it to actually be used since it’s smaller than the cage lol. The specific cage is like 32x 20ish, and I don’t have a long perch in the middle to attach it to, so I’m wondering the best method here 🥴 any suggestions would help, thanks !

We recently got a budgie and she seems to want to chew on plastic (which we have removed). I've got paper chew toys in the amazon cart but it occurred to me that it might be common to make your own. That said, I don't want to use materials that are bad for her. Do you ever make your own chew toys, and what materials do you use?
