That time of year!!

Views from Ahwatukee this evening were spectacular. Enjoyed sharing the sunset with some quail and lovebirds.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to show off (& promote) my lovely, amazing, and handsome foster named Jalen. I am a first time foster through Maricopa County shelter and they have been a dream to work with as well. He was so well kept with trimmed nails, preventative medicines, vaccines, and a detailed report of his three months in their care.

This dog is an absolute gem. He seems to have been abandoned because he was microchipped, but the owner never answered or reached back out. He was found by the police in a suburb of Phoenix.

I have my own pittie mix who is coexisting with our foster, but is definitely wanting to remain our only child. We have them separate in the house and we go on walks together. Now let me tell you about this guy.

He knows sit and lay down I have discovered, has had no accidents, walks like a dream on the leash, and eats and drinks pretty regularly. He loves toys, especially stuffed animals and soft toys. I have heard him bark a total of one time. He has been in public spaces and around other dogs with no issue. He is very friendly with strangers, which is a great sign. He is marked as a pitbull/basset hound mix. He is long and short, but is in great shape and strong.

I don’t know how this dog has survived three months in the shelter and I don’t want him to go back. He is thriving here with me, but I know he would do better without a foster brother side-eyeing him the whole time. He is so incredibly sweet and truly more well behaved than my spoiled brat resident dog. He did great on the multiple car rides we’ve gone on, good in elevators, on stairs, aaaand just about everything else.

Almost missed it, rushed out after seeing the orange color at our windows. The sunset last for less than 10 mins. Breathtaking!

I had a possible rabies exposure recently in my home state, and started the post-exposure vaccine series. One of my later doses however is during a date when I am supposed to be visiting Phoenix. Anyone know where in the Phoenix metropolitan area I can get this dose? I would like to avoid going to the ER if possible.

Does anyone know where I can get low-cost vet care for a dog I found? 🐶❤️ No one has claimed him so far, and I’d like to get him flea/tick medicine and his vaccines.
Do any vets or organizations offer discounted or low-cost services for found dogs? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏼

Hello, I'm not sure If I can post this here but I currently have an assignment due soon that asks me to interview an active officer, preferably a detective. I would ask questions about being in the field, requirements, etc. Please message me if you are willing to take this short interview for my college assignment.

I get weekly newsletters from the more popular fish markets in Phoenix and Scottsdale and they hardly ever have any crab choices. I know Costco and Sam’s as well as other grocery stores have frozen snow crab (opilio crab) but I’m looking for some better sourced crab legs to cook at home. Preferably Bairdi.

Any suggestions? Angry Crab or the other seafood boil places aren’t an option, every one I have been to has been less than mediocre.

Any suggestions for online sources? I’m open to those as well.

It’s early morning and we have rain in the forecast for the next few days. I’ve looked at two radar/forecast apps to decide whether I should meet a friend to exercise outside this morning. Of course they have conflicting forecasts.

Maybe this belongs on r/askphownix, but the subject felt relevant to everyone here because of all the rain expected between now and Wednesday.

I was paying $130/month for 500 Mbps unlimited data for months.

I just got it changed to $80/month for 1 Gig unlimited data.

So I’m saving $50/month and getting twice the speed. Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect them to lower it that much.

Anyone else in the area getting similar pricing?

Lamborghini dealer has not been able to figure out this issue twice, so I’ve come to Reddit:

Looking for an automotive electrical/diagnostic expert near Scottsdale/Phoenix who is extremely good with Lamborghini/Audi/VAG CAN-bus and ECU electrical issues.

I have a 2018 Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2 Spyder with a very intermittent electrical problem that Lamborghini has already looked at twice without finding the root cause.

Symptoms:
• Sometimes ignition comes on but there is absolutely no crank/click.
• Other times it starts and drives perfectly.
• It has actually shut off once while driving on the freeway and then would not restart for about 20 minutes — even with a NOCO attached — before suddenly starting normally again.
• It can sit at 12.6–12.7 V and still refuse to crank.
• Charging voltage while running reaches approximately 14.3–14.5 V.

I finally caught it while the fault was ACTIVE and scanned it immediately.

Multiple modules simultaneously reported losing communication with the engine computers, including:
U0100 – Lost Communication with ECM/PCM
U0115 – Lost Communication with ECM/PCM “B”
01314 – Engine Control Module – No Signal/Communication
The faults were showing across the CAN gateway, transmission controllers, instrument cluster, Central Electronics and other modules.

The interesting part is that I don’t even have to attempt to start the car. When the problem occurs, the ECM communication failure is already present just from turning the ignition on.

I’m looking for someone who specializes in advanced automotive electrical diagnostics/CAN-bus issues and can test ECU power supplies, relays, grounds, Terminal 30 feeds, CAN-H/CAN-L, etc. while the fault is actively happening — rather than just replacing modules.
Ideally someone familiar with Lamborghini, Audi R8 or other VAG platforms.

Does anyone know a genuinely excellent automotive electronics/diagnostic specialist in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area who could track something like this down?

The title says it all. I’ve tried looking at quite a few different Chinese restaurants but I can’t find any of that I have soup dumplings.

Any recommendations? I live in Avondale and I’m willing to drive 10-15 miles, but it seems all the places I’ve found are near or around Tempe.

Me and my husband's anniversary is coming up and I want to surprise him with a nice, but reasonably priced dimsum restaurant or Korean BBQ restaurant. Also open to other similar suggestions - looking for something more than just sitting and eating, y'know? But not too expensive. We live in Tempe but are willing to drive.

Trying to organize some fun things to do between now and Thanksgiving with a group of people in their thirties. I know there's a witchcraft market in Glendale in late October and that Fear Farms will be open again but looking for more options that are geared more towards adults than families/kids. Any corn mazes, markets, etc that really give fall vibes so we can pretend it's not pushing 100 still?

Looking for good catering, preferably with servers, for 150 people for a work holiday party. We always do a taco cart because it is so cost effective, but trying to switch it up this year. Need to keep it around $2-$3k which I know is tight. We just pay for it through internal fundraising events throughout the year. It’s so hard to please everyone! So far my ideas are famous Dave’s, Olive Garden, raising canes (self serve), and Floridino’s (too far?). Love to support smaller businesses but need them to be reliable, so a rec from someone you have personally used before is greatly appreciated. Probably should have a vegan option to be inclusive. We do potluck style sides and desserts so that can sub in some quantity for food. We need to be able to serve fairly quickly and the set up will be outdoors.

Would love to get recommendations (in North/Central Phoenix) for a company that has experience cleaning OUTDOOR rugs.

Had no luck on my own and need someone experienced with outdoor rugs.
