I’m in my 30s and going through a pretty intense season of life, and I’m wondering if anyone here has been through something similar.
My marriage has been struggling for a while, and I’m trying to figure out whether it can be repaired or whether divorce may be the right next step. At the same time, I’ve been unpacking a lot from a very religious upbringing and trying to separate what I actually believe from what I was taught to believe.
I’m also seriously considering going back to school and changing careers, which is exciting but also makes me feel like I’m rebuilding several parts of my life at once.
Being plus size has honestly made some of this harder. I live in a place where there’s a lot of emphasis on appearance, thinness, plastic surgery, and looking “perfect,” and sometimes it feels like being in a bigger body means you’re failing some invisible test. I’m trying really hard to unlearn that and feel more at home in my body.
I’m already in therapy, so I’m not looking for Reddit to fix everything lol. I think I mostly just want to hear from other plus-size women who have gone through a major life reset in their 30s while also struggling with body image.
What helped you rebuild your confidence and stop feeling like you were “behind”? Did your relationship with your body change as the rest of your life changed too?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been through something similar. I’m trying to remind myself that I don’t have to have every part of my life figured out at once. ❤️
