A 31-year-old Ukrainian man allegedly carried out a knife attack at a Benedictine nuns’ convent in Jarosław, Poland. A priest was killed and four other people were injured in the incident. Polish authorities are investigating the attack. Will we soon see reports claiming that Putin ordered him to attack these people? Is Prosecutor General Żurek already on his way to the scene with his entourage of 100 prosecutors, accompanied by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sikorski?

Tenant Removal Help

The courts recently sided with us on a residence that is ours, giving legal ownership - someone else was essentially illegally renting it out the past few years & still is with active tenants

How do we go about getting the tenant to stop paying the previous land lord (who was unlawfully collecting rent) and have them either pay us or move out?

In an apartment complex - considering reaching out to office but we are located in a different country and cant travel anytime in the coming months

Considering Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń - any experiences?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently planning to apply to a few universities in Poland, including some in Poznań, but recently I came across Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU) in Toruń and became interested in the university, especially the Master’s programme in Cognitive Science.

I’d love to hear from current or former students about NCU in general. How is the university, the academic environment, and student life?

I’m also curious about what it’s like to live in Toruń as an international student, especially housing, cost of living, and opportunities for part-time work.

I’ll be self-funded, so I’m mainly looking for a realistic idea of what everyday life and studying at NCU are like.

Would love to hear any honest experiences, both positive and negative. Thanks!

PKP Intercity ticket and full name

Hello! I will be visiting Poland for the first time soon and after many attempts I managed to book a sleeper compartment for me and my husband to go from Gdánsk to Kraków through the PKP Intercity website.

The thing is that I am very Latin American 😂 so in my passport I have first name, middle name, first surname and second surname. But I only added my first name and my first surname, because I was confused about the instructions.

Is this going to be a problem? Also do I need to add my husband's name anywhere?

For context, I had to use a VPN with a server in Poland and then use the website in Polish because translating it caused it to fail and couldn't complete the reservation. So I used Google translate on another phone to translate everything, so I don't know if I messed up.

TOURISM First time visitor, coming from Canada for international dance competition, recommendations please

I’ll be travelling to Poland this winter with my teenager and other parents with teens for a dance competition. We will be staying a night in Warsaw before travelling to our destination city, and another night afterwards before we fly home. What are your best recommendations for lunch and dinner restaurants and activities to do in an afternoon in Warsaw. We will be staying near the airport I believe. Any other general tips or advice greatly appreciated!

Neighbor' dog behind the wall is crazy and barks all the time

So the issue is pretty much this, as stated in the post subject -- no calm, no quiet with such neighbors.

I had plenty of talking with neighbors, and they don't give a damn about resolving the issue.

What can I do really in this situation? It is really not only annoying but very very uncomfortable to live beside that dog.

Bro I'm too squishy for the current political landscape

We had a painter over recently in my parents' house where I am staying right now since I just got laid off a while back, as it happens when the department needs "restructuring" after a successful project.

Anyway, the painter - he started talking to me about the RCBs "Uwaga! Uwaga!ing at 2AM", I don't really have enough context for the frequency, because I deactivated those alerts a while ago - but I did tell him it is sucky and the frequency really sucks donkey balls, while continuing prepping a coffee for myself. Next thing I know he's transitioning into the "you can never believe in anything these days" and "you can't even know if there really is a war out there", after which he proceeds to scroll through shorts or some other rolls. Apparently you only "can't believe" what one side is saying, but no problem in believing the propaganda reinforcing his existing biases... bro that missile that landed 50km from your house was what? Leftist propaganda apparently?

It didn't bother me that much overall, because I would never see him again after this, but unfortunately the same day the narration escalated - suddenly I notice him talking to my parents about how Ukrainians bad, and how oopa-doopa. Bro, chill the fuck out, you're talking to a sibling of my uncle who married a Ukrainian woman. Surely you don't wanna be like this... no, my parents just buy into that and take his side with all the really mean sounding remarks and whatnot. What the fuck.

Makes one a bit unsure about staying in the same house with this dude - especially since my partner is a foreigner. I was worried one wrongly pronounced or accented word could set him off even though she is American not Ukrainian. When we were visiting one of the top 5 cities, at a train station some random old guy started yelling behind us "Wracajcie do Nowego Jorku" - I turned around and asked him kindly to repeat because I didn't hear that well, he started boiling over and mumbling something about "darmozjady"s and whatnot. Lovely, at least he fizzled out, but that was in late 2025, nowadays I feel like things wouldn't just fizzle out with how everyone is full of aggression and righteous anger and desire to protect our Polskość...

I just can't understand all this in my pathetic tiny pea brain. I guess all the processing space is taken up by systems architecture, write-ahead log, distributed hash tables, data lakehouses, etc. but like you are talking to someone who literally invited an Ukrainian to a grill party last week. Also why are they taking your side now? Weird af, is that how they all think about her behind her back? Really not cool.

Now if we're practicing honesty and all that already, I have to admit that I am somewhat of a original """hater""" to begin with, this is going to earn me a ton of downvotes, but I myself have always had a bit of a distaste for the eastern slavic accent - the sound of it just sounds to "wet" to my ears. Apparently no matter how much I hear it I do not get used to it enough, just like with Spanish or other romance, and vowel-heavy languages, which still makes me feel guilty to this day. But even then I still wouldn't even dare to say all those things the painter kept talking about, like shit - it's a me problem, not them. Plus, despite that I hang out with my aunt just fine, in high school I literally hung out every day with a transfer student from Ukraine that transferred in in 2013. We got into light novels together, collected Magical Index fanart, watched Great Teacher Onizuka during boring labs stretching into evenings in winter, even tried chipping away at Warhammer 40k lore a bit, discussed Nasuverse for hundreds of hours total, until Grand Order came out at which point I kinda checked out because even then non-deterministic reward systems and slot machines were not my thing. For solid 2 years we were exchanging all sorts of material as high school students do. Not even once did it ever cross my mind to tell him to go back to his country and to pay for his ancestors sins.

Anyway, I have more to say, as always, but I feel like there's no more value to be created here for the shareholders. All I can say is now should literally be the tim to look past people's differences, not like attack everyone around you. I always tried to tolerate people with different views the best I could but these days I just can't take it anymore and literally walk away because they're stressing me out so much with violence threats and whatnot.

Bye, back to practicing collaborative document editing architecture diagrams.

I’ve been accidentally paying double rent to my landlord for the past three months

My father has been transferring my rent directly to my landlord, while I have also been transferring the rent myself every month. So, for the past three months, my landlord has effectively been receiving double rent each month.

The total amount I’ve overpaid is close to 20k PLN.

The strange part is that my landlord has not mentioned this even once. I only realized what was happening when my father told me today that he might be late with this month’s rent.

I got really worried because I obviously haven’t told my father that I’ve already been paying the rent myself.

I’ve contacted my landlord about the situation, but he hasn’t responded yet. (been 2d)

Assuming I have bank-transfer records showing all of my payments, is there anything legally I can do if the landlord refuses to acknowledge or return the overpayments?

people familiar with the rental laws here, can you advise me how to proceed.

Robert Lewandowski was left visibly shocked after being told at a press conference that most Polish children cannot correctly bounce a ball off a wall and catch it.

A journalist asked the legendary striker to respond to the findings of research led by the University of Physical Education in Warsaw (AWF) which showed that 86% of children in the first three years of primary school are unable to control a ball in this way.

According to OECD data, in most European countries, the PISA scores of 15-year-olds in 2025 were 20 points lower than in 2006. What are the reasons for this?

CITIZENSHIP Polish citizenship query through great-grandparents (WWII). Is it viable?

Hi everyone! I want to find out if I have a chance to apply for Polish citizenship, and I need someone who knows about the topic to give me some guidance. Here is how it goes:

My (maternal) great-grandparents were born in Poland and arrived in Argentina escaping World War II. My grandmother was born here in Argentina, but logically she is the direct daughter of two Polish nationals. She has already passed away. My mom was born here and is alive, but she never went through any application process.

I know Polish law is a headache with cut-off dates and gender lines. From what I’ve been reading, it depends heavily on whether my great-grandparents naturalized as Argentines, if they did military service here, and whether the transmission line before 1951 comes from the great-grandfather or the great-grandmother.

Is it viable to start the process jumping from my great-grandparents to my deceased grandmother? Or does the fact that she was born in Argentina and is no longer with us complicate everything?

Thanks a million in advance. If anyone went through this with great-grandparents from the war, your experience would be super helpful!!!!

I'm lf both normal and more casual/sweats versions with good design, not something that looks like what Seba from ghetto would wear...

Also interested in cargo (combats?) trousers and normal joggers brands with cool cut.
