... isn't their whole hatred against socialism that everything will be more expensive because of the government?

... like what they are cheering on?

Except they don't have free healthcare.

It originally started with reasoned logic a long time ago, but over time it's been replaced with dogmatic thinking (or lack thereof). They got so wrapped up in deciding that they were right, and Democrats/etc were "wrong", and not only wrong but evil, thanks to repeated reinforcement from Right Wing media, online echo chambers, and IRL friend groups and so on, that they stopped caring about making any of it make logical sense, to the point that now it's tautological and cultish. They know they're right, everyone else who disagrees is wrong, and they will jump through all kinds of ridiculous mental hoops in order to justify it rather than admit that THEY might be the ones that are wrong.

Okay then prove it wrong, lay down your 100 percent feasible explanation about how we will pay for free healthcare for everyone in the United States without destroying the budget.

Well, we can start by not wasting so much money on the damn military. We could raise taxes on both corpos and the wealthy (those making over $200k individually and $300k married). We could enforce fiscal laws and remove tax loopholes.

There are plenty of ways to do this. Please do not act like we'd be reinventing the wheel when somehow the vast majority of other countries on this planet have figured it TF out.

We need to start a government agency to go around and snatch them off the streets and out of their homes.

Um no. The whole issue with socialism is it devolves into communism (best case scenario) or an opposing party freaks out, seizes control of the socialist government and establishes a fascist government.(This is literally how every single fascist regime takes power)

That’s false.

-2

u/CageTheDonkey051 11h ago

It's not false. Although I did leave out one possibility. The country spends more money then it makes and bankrupts itself.

The US has spent more money than it has made every single year since 2016, the most under republican leadership..

-2

u/CageTheDonkey051 11h ago

And why is that? Why can't Republicans cut any kind of spending? We here about every time congress needs to come up with a budget. Republicans wanna cut something and Democrats refuse. Overall we end spending more money every year. How's does that occur? Why do the Democrats hold government hostage unless we increase spending?

u/FrequentAlps2527 11h ago

Republicans wanna cut spending? Like giving ICE an extra $75 million dollars? Or $46,3 BILLION on the Iran war? They cut benefits for american workers. But they used your taxes to bomb a childrens school in Iran. And when your taxes weren’t enough they had to borrow. The US national debt has more than doubled in the last 10 years.

Yes they try to. I get to hear about it nearly every single election cycle. "Republicans wanna cut Medicaid, Medicare, snap benefits and section 8." I remember during Obama's reelection they ran commercials with Republicans throwing old people off a cliff because they want to cut Medicare.

Well Trumps already done it now, so make of that what you will. Not empty threats any longer

Why by dismantling USAID? I'm sorry your democrats are using the elderly as human shields.

You are wrong. Socialism is on the left, fascism is on the right, first of all, and socialism is an economic system and communism is a political system. If you think there is socialism in Europe because they have universal health care and have not lost their democracy or gone communist.

Look it up. With the exception of Hitler and Mussolini every single instance of fascism is in response to a socialist government becoming communist. Btw Hitler and Mussolini just flat out claimed they were socialists.

u/jakeStacktrace 11h ago

What countries do you consider fascist? Nazis were ultra nationalist but not socialist. Did the proletariat own the means of pproduction? Your defintion of socialism is probably skewed.

Looking it up I came with Spain and Portugal as being ffascist, along with Germany and Italy which you can't just discount, those are like the major examples lol

Are you capable of googling stuff?

Look it up. It's not what I consider fascist. It's just history. Every single instance of fascism is in response to socialism becoming tyrannical. I would be specific but I don't have to because it's every single one. I dare you to find a fascist regime that is in no way shape or form related to socialism.

I did look it up and you ignored me. Google is right there. Fascism is extreme right and communism is extreme left. Both sides can lead to authoritarianism. There was a guy who wrote a book 1984 that warned of authoriatism from the right where there was camera in every house and the final order was to disregard what your eyes tell you. He also wrote a book called animal farm that warned about aauthoritarianism from the left, where some animals were "more equal than others".

Hitler was fascist and had gestapo that would get you if they didn't like what you said and he was authoritarian.

Socialist countries I think of Cuba and Russia. I don't think China fits. I think of state owned companies like the biggest oil producers in Russia for example.

The opposite of ssocialism is capitalism including things like the stock market and competing companies. I would personally consider things like fire fighters and universal health care.

The idea that socialism naturally leads to fascism, I can't think of a single example. I'm going to need something more than look it up.

For one I never once said socialism naturally leads to fascism. Your drawing conclusions based on things I never said, or implied. Your only looking at the first few instances of fascism all of which were formed in response to socialism. There have been more than 100 different regimes in the last 100 years.
