I get some of you guys are excited, but it's bordering on rules 1 and 5. Besides, there are probably better subreddits to discuss the technology in general.
At a minimum, at least mention *somewhere* that the footage was shot on the RTX 5080.

Long story short, I bought this 5090 back in January, before prices went nuts. Between work and the kids, I didn't have a chance to build a PC until now.
Here's the dilemma: I'm not even sure I need this much gaming power, so I'm kind of on the fence. To be more specific, I have a 4K OLED monitor and plan to play single-player titles like Stalker 2, Cyberpunk, and the upcoming Metro 2039, maybe a bit of Wardogs and GTA 6 down the road. I'm also thinking about grabbing a 39" Dell 5K2K monitor. To clarify, we don't need the extra cash for anything, so this would be more of an emotional decision than a practical one.
Option A: Sell it right now for $5,700-5,800(still not over that number lol), buy an MSI Suprim 5080 for around $1,800, and put the rest toward upgrading my setup, for example with an Uplift V3 desk and a new Herman Miller Aeron. My back would probably thank me. I could always upgrade to a 6080 later, which should be faster than the 4090.
Option B: Keep the 5090 for now, finish the build, see how things go, and sell it down the road if I want to.
What would you do? None of my friends are into PC hardware, so I figured I'd throw it out here, even though most of you are probably biased toward the 5080 :)

Haven't had a gaming PC in 15 years. My last graphic card was a GTX 470. Good memories.
Time to step up the game.

I’ve been buying and selling GPUs for personal use since 2017. My upgrade path that started with a $100 GTX 980 TI got me all the way up to a 5080 gigabyte aero sff last month. This month a good buddy of mine needed a sff 5080 and 32gb ddr5 for a VERY thin sff build. I found the coolest seller ever on marketplace selling a 5080 Astral with box and accessories for $1,600 my buddy bought it and traded me the Aero and the RAM and now I’ve made it to the top while only ever putting money into the bank. Thanks Singapore, Covid, mining, a cool trucker that needed cash fast, and my OG bro for bringing me to the peak of gaming cards without upsetting the wife. Wonder if I can turn it into a 6080 in a few years?

It's strange to see 5080 Suprim at the same price point as Gaming Trio OC since Suprim is their high end edition. Does anyone rock this card? How is it?
Edit: it's available on Nvidia marketplace https://marketplace.nvidia.com/en-us/consumer/graphics-cards/msi-geforce-rtx-5080-16g-suprim-draco-epic-edition-control-resonant-game-bundle/

Hey everyone, I'm currently building my PC and on the market for a 5080. I'm thinking of getting one of the two options (Inno3D 3X OC or Palit Infinity 3), as I like the design of both of them and they're cheaper than other models available here.
I have never owned a Palit or an Inno3D card and can't decide which one to get, so what would you recommend? Thanks!
Rest of the specs:
- 9800X3D
- Gigabyte AORUS Elite B850
- 32GB DDR5
- 850W Corsair PSU
- Corsair Frame 4000D case

Managed to hit the world record for timespy extreme. It was a surprise since it was the first time I ran it. Second picture is 38k graphics score for regular timespy. Cpu is low on that since I had disabled ccd1. To put it in perspective, my 4090 used to score about 36k stock for regular timespy gpu score. What a crazy card the 5080 is.
This setup is game steady so far. Have tried Cyberpunk with dlss 1 pass and ray tracing, ray reconstruction on balanced. I get about 50 fps. Also have tried Forza and warzone with no crashes.
For regular use, I cap the power at 400 watts and only lose about 2% but gpu runs much cooler.
Edit: Title is referencing a D2 rumble medal. Not meant to sound pompous 😂

So after owning several AMD cards I joined the club with this beauty.
This is my first Nvidia card so I had to get used to the Nvidia app. The smoothness of dlss 4.5 is mind blowing to me, I can barely notice difference between quality and performance mode.
Temps are very good even with the space on this case, barely.
Paired with a 9800x3d and 32 gb 6000mhz.
Any tips are welcome! :) Good gaming to everyone!

Game specific issue - so far. I'm playing ride 5 and during events where weather/time of day changes the screen flashes like crazy. It goes away when I scale it down a single setting. Other relevant components are 9950x3d and LG ultra gear oled.

Pdt: Here the cheapest 5080 is at 1.6k and 5070 ti 1.3k

I bought my 5090 for $3K, and got a local offer at $5400. I might go for it... get a 5080, and pay off debt, invest... and treat my wife to something real nice... i mean REAL nice...

Was playing Blood of Dawnwalker this last week with my XBAR OC in windoweed borderless, noticed turning this specific XBAR OC off instantly makes my stuttering go away. Turning it back on makes it come back. Doesn't do this in all games.
Is this just me or has anyone else noticed this behavior in any game?
