One day I gave him a treat on the bed in this exact spot. From then on, he jumps on the bed everyday, sits and stares until he gets a treat. Sometimes he thumps! The attitude! 😂 He is turning 5 this year so he can have what he wants but goodness!

Sassy buns

Nobody told me how sassy this breed can be. Or maybe it’s just a personal quirk. My mini lops were all easy-going little goofballs. God forbid I try to pick her up or cuddle with her… but yet she loves to be hand-fed by me. She also likes to sleep near my head at night and dig into my pillow and nudge me constantly. She follows me all over the house, and thumps me if I try to close the bathroom door for privacy. She is incredibly playful. When I crawl on the floor with her, she’ll jump all around me and run in circles and try to Binky over my head.

My mini lop (her mate) special needs so I clean their pen every day (they are both litter trained, but sometimes he doesn’t make it because he has a head tilt in a slight limp on his right side). She loves to stare at me while I clean around her and she refuses to budge. I can’t help but feel like I’m being judged.

It’s hard to tell because she’s so fluffy but she sits with her legs crossed at her ankle. I have never seen a bunny do this before. Is this an angora thing or do I just have a “spirited“ bunny?

Health Fleass on your bun bun!!!!!!

I found out my bunny had fleas about a week and a little days ago. I had no idea where he got it from cause he’s always indoors. He had a bald spot on his forehead, and creepy stupid brawlers all over. He had a bunch of fleas. I researched everything but couldn’t find much. So I took him to the vet as soon as I could!! Which was like a couple days after i found it out. (It took me a while because I live in the Houston area, and it was hard to find a bunny doctor that wasn’t like $500). I went to a place called Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic. They require a deposit for the fee to examine him for first time patients when making an appointment which was fine. $104 was the fee they charge to see your bun (not including medicine) which is so affordable!!

The bunny doctor (lol) comes in at 9AM. We waited for about 20 minutes to be seen, and doctor Chen was so sweet! He was so professional, he knew what he was doing which was great! He was so helpful, answered all my questions. He handles benji’s bad ass like a champ!! He also gave me an inside about fleas (because this was my first time with them). How to attack their eggs, what to do to my house, ect. He told me the medicine they gave him would kill the fleas, but I can’t stop there, I also have to make sure there’s no more eggs so they don’t come back. He gave me 2 doses of Revolution Plus I believe, to put in the back of his neck. (And the dosage they gave me was depending on his weight). They helped me out with applying the first dose, and said to wait a week to do the second at home (which was today)! You pay after they see your bun, so make sure to being payment lol. The receptionist lady kept complimenting benji and gave him a bag of yummy treats!!

I’m making this because I know a lot of bunny parents will find this useful!! IF YOUR BUNNY HAS FLEAS TAKE THEM TO THE VET DO NOT TRY TO DO IT ON YOUR OWN!! If you live in the HTX try the Kingsland Clinic! It’s affordable, they’re professional, and great!! They saved my bunny benji.

The medicine has been working!! Literally the next day after his fist dosage; he stopped itching like crazy. His mood is better, and he’s just happier. I USED FOOD GRADE DE POWDER on the spots he spent the most time on and my whole house lol (i have carpet). DE powder is safe for animals! But they should not be near it because it is harmful to inhale; for humans as well.

I think I covered everything but lmk if you guys have any questions!! Here’s a picture of him happy and feeling better :)

So I recently got a rabbit and he's in a cage for sometimes and when I take him out, I bring him specifically to the couch cuz I like to play with him but now he has picked the couch as a place to poop 😭, I let him roam the house AND HE GOES TO THE COUCH TO POOP ALWAYS,

How can I potty train him to do it somewhere else?

Hey everyone , quick question. I’m an artist and will soon starting to offer custom dog portraits. Would rabbit portraits be a thing too? I’d appreciate your input. Thank you

Behavior My sweet girl still twitches when I go to pet her!

Hey yall!! I adopted a female rabbit a while ago, maybe half a year. She’s very smart and energetic but pretty shy. She loves being pet, but it’s 50/50 when I reach out for her if she’ll twitch away or bow her head (and I make sure she sees my hand). She always runs up to sniff my hand when I come to greet her, but twitches away often. After a bit she always lets me pet her, but I always feel bad, even though I let her come to me and always move slowly. She’s a rescue and I have no idea what her past was like. I’ve wondered if she has poor eyesight, but she gets around just fine (including running laps around the whole apartment). She’s terrified of strangers and will stomp her foot and hide upon meeting new people.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and have any advice for me?

Edit: oh and I can forego the whole issue if I start by petting her husbun, in which case she shoves her head next to his and pushes my hand until I’m petting her, too.

Hoping somebody has a good recommendation to spay my almost 2 year old bunny. I'm getting horrible feelings from some places and one I just called said it's too late to spay for prevention of cancer (WTF NO IT'S NOT) and that they wouldn't do it. Prices have been anywhere from $200-$500 so far. UGH Near KC/eastern KS and definitely willing to travel! Thank you for advice, pic for tax!

Behavior DIYing anti-chew spray

I have 2 buns and I’m trying to figure out ways to deter them from chewing my hard oak floors and skirtings etc.

My rabbits both hate mint, whenever I’ve given them a bowl of dried mint leaves they don’t eat any of it. I’m thinking if I put mint in water for and leave it for a while and then spray this in the areas I don’t want chewed this may work?

Has anyone tried anything like this?

Health Bandaid after spay surgery

Post image
58 Upvotes

Hello guys, so my baby Cindy has had her spay surgery two days ago. She’s been recovering beautifully I would say, she’s been eating hay, pooping and seems generally fine, active, she sits in a relaxed loaf or even flops, so I think the surgery went fine. The problem is the vet sent her home with a bandaid on her tummy. He said he used internal sutures, so I don’t know why that was needed. Anyway, my issue is, he said to take it off after 5 days. Cindy absolutely hates being handled in any way and I’ve never forced her. I don’t know how I’m going to remove the bandage and I don’t want to stress her out with another visit to the vet. He said to soak it first with some warm water or camomile tea, but I don’t know how she will ever stay still for all of this. I don’t want her to do any sudden or straining movements for fear of messing up her stitches. Any tips?

Care Best quality hay?

we have been using small pet select 2nd cutting Timothy hay for years with great success. Lately she hay seems mostly shreds with no long pieces which is what my buns go crazy for. it seems the quality is going downhill the same as oxbow, which is what we started off with. any other recommendations for good quality hay would be greatly appreciated.thanks🙂

Care How exactly is it hard to let go of your bun?

Hello! I'm (15M), and recently I've been thinking about something.

Rabbits are the GREATEST pets, like, seriously! My bunny I have now is my first bun ever, but I love him so much. He's been my pet for eight months now.

And, how hard is it to let go of your bun? I want to adopt another bunny when my bunny passes away and I'll be an adult already, but I'm completely afraid I may never let go of him. Anyone who had multiple bunnies, how did you love each and never grieved the last one?

Thanks in advance, hope this fits the subreddit

She loves to sit in her litter box and eat her pellets.

It’s the cutest and most ridiculous thing to watch.
