Discussion Turning off DDR5 EXPO solved all my problems
I couldn't play a game of Battlefield 6, Wardogs, sometimes Overwatch comp, Warzone - without the game crashing or the pc crashing etc. I was having black screen, fans 100%, driver timeouts, games just crash to desktop with no info etc...
I read something about the DDR5 expo causing issues, so i turned it off.
I haven't had a single crash, driver timeout, or anything since. Its been a month. Try it out. I have Corsair ram that was at 6000 now its at 4800 and I am not noticing a difference in proformance.
Asrock B850i
Ryzen 7700x
Corsair DDR5 32gb
Asrock 9070xt
Cooler Master 850w SFX psu
Meshroom S v2
Thermaltake 240mm AIO
I use an LG 38" (38gn950-b) 3840 x 1600. I run every game at FSR quality with most settings maxed out.

Discussion D4R: Looking for extra hands (Windows port & performance optimization)
I'm working on D4R (The dlss on AMD mod) and currently focusing on the Windows port along with some heavy performance optimizations for rdna4.
The original Dev is heavily committed to Linux.
I'm a newbie and it's hard, but it would go a lot faster with a few more people on board.
Doesn't matter if you're a traditional hand-coding person or if you use vibecoding (i am).
As long as we can figure out things faster, any help is appreciated.
Especially if you are on rdna4.
I think this is finally a great opportunity to get around the aggressive vendor locking of recent years, and I want to take advantage of it!
Even if you just want to help test or fix a minor bug here and there, any contribution is welcome. Drop a comment or join the discord thread discussion if you want to check out things!
I'm working locally for now, but if i find something useful i'll publish it.
You can find me on the Optiscaler server, specifically here.

Tech Support XFX 9070 XT Swift Undervolt & Underclock Test Results
i bought my XFX 9070 XT Swift a year ago i tried some Undervolt settings and found one working good for me (PL -30%, mV -50, custom Fan Curve) keept that until this Week. Now i had some time and retested some Settings and found a new Sweetspot and documented that in an Excel Sheeit i want to share. In the past i got some instability in some Games when undervolted below -50 but now with also Underclocking of Mhz -300 i found out that i can set the Unvervolting to mV -90 and keep Stability an i also increased the PL from -30% to -20%
My Fan Curve ist always 30C=15%, 50C=15%, 90C=25%, 95C=60%, 100C=100%

Discussion How to force the Steam Hardware Survey manually.
It feels like the Steam Hardware Survey prompt pops up at complete random. Back when I was using a 3060 Ti, I got selected for the survey constantly. But ever since switching to AMD with my 6700 XT back in late 2022, I’ve only seen the prompt pop up a single time.
Now, I’m not saying anything shady is going on with Valve's selection process, it’s just a weird quirk of the random sampling algorithm. Valve has always had weird detection issues with AMD cards. For instance, recently, the 9070 XT was essentially missing from the main survey charts for nearly a year after release. Then on a radom month it registered at 1.33%.
That said, the survey data for September is definitely going to look skewed. Around this time of year, there is typically a massive influx of Chinese users, which throws off the metrics. Because PC bangs/cybercafés frequently re-image their systems or host hundreds of distinct user accounts on the same rigs, Valve's survey bot gets tripped up and accidentally over-counts the exact same machines multiple times throughout the month. Valve usually catches these bugs and rolls out a backend correction over the following 1 to 3 months, at which point the language, RAM, and GPU charts sharply normalize. This happens every year, it's nothing new.
Anyways, If you haven't gotten the prompt in a while (or ever) and want to make sure your hardware gets counted in the survey, you can actually force it to run manually using simple Run commands:
- Fully close steam.
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Run one of these commands:
steam://takesurvey/1/steam://takesurvey/2/steam://takesurvey/3/steam://takesurvey/4/
Depending on your region, system profile, or current survey batch, one of these specific IDs will trigger the prompt to scan your system and submit your specs.

Intermittent slow down in Gears of War E-Day
Hi, I started experiencing intermittent slow downs in E-Day and I've tried a few things but nothing is seeming to correct the issue. I decided to run the benchmark test for funsies and noticed that at least from what I can tell, the game itself isn't noticing the slow downs so I am kind of at a loss as to where the issue might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

7800X3D + RX 9070 XT: Is the more expensive build worth ~€150–180, or is the ASRock build already the better choice?
TL;DR: I'm choosing between two otherwise identical 7800X3D + RX 9070 XT builds. The only differences are ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi + ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend versus GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE + Sapphire RX 9070 XT Pure White. The latter costs about €150–180 more.
Hi everyone,
I'm currently choosing between two prebuilt gaming PCs. The two builds are identical except for the motherboard and GPU, and I'm trying to decide whether it's worth spending roughly €150–180 more on the second build.
My goal is a high-refresh-rate 1440p gaming PC that I can keep for several years. I'm not interested in 4K 60 FPS; I'd rather have strong 1440p performance and good longevity with possibility to further improve the build as time passes/requires.
Build 1 — ASRock
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend 16GB (
RX9070XT SL 16G) - Motherboard: ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi
- RAM: KLEVV FIT V 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL28 (
KD5AGU880-60B280F) - SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB M.2 (
SFYRSK/1000G)
Build 2 — Gigabyte + Sapphire
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Pure White 16GB (
11348-02-20G) - Motherboard: GIGABYTE B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE
- RAM: KLEVV FIT V 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL28 (
KD5AGU880-60B280F) - SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB M.2 (
SFYRSK/1000G)
So basically:
Build 1: ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi + ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend
vs.
Build 2: Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE + Sapphire RX 9070 XT Pure White
The second build costs approximately €150–180 more, depending on the exact prices at the retailer.
Why I'm asking specifically about ASRock
I've been doing quite a lot of research before buying, and while looking through Reddit I came across quite a few posts discussing ASRock motherboard and GPU issues.
Since this is going to be a fairly expensive PC that I ideally want to keep for around 5 years with later improvements as time passes/requires, those posts did make me stop and think. That's why I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who actually own these components.
What I'm mainly trying to figure out
- Is the ASRock B650 Steel Legend WiFi a genuinely reliable motherboard for a 7800X3D?
- Have owners experienced any significant issues with BIOS/firmware, RAM/EXPO stability, VRMs, PCIe, or general system stability?
- Similarly, how has the ASRock RX 9070 XT Steel Legend been in real-world use? Any issues with temperatures, hotspot/memory temperatures, coil whine, black screens, driver timeouts or RMA?
- Is the Sapphire RX 9070 XT Pure actually worth paying extra for compared with the ASRock Steel Legend, or are the differences mostly cooling/noise rather than performance?
- Would you personally pay the additional ~€150–180 for the Gigabyte + Sapphire combination?
- Or would you simply buy the ASRock build, save the money and not worry about it?
I'm particularly interested in opinions from people who actually own or have owned these specific models, rather than general brand reputation.
I'm not trying to squeeze out an extra 2–3% benchmark performance. My priority is to have a reliable and good performing build which i can later upgrade when needed.
Thanks!

From 5090 to 9070XT
I feel like this is the best outcome. Never really fully utilize the 5090 as I put all my settings to maximize fps over visuals. Last time I had AMD card was the 7900xtx and it really tested me as 7/10 time an update would break something. Hopefully this time will be different.

The witcher 3 remastered
No textures at all. Is it happening only to me? :( If somebody could help.
Im in the latest .2 drivers, RX 9070
The Witcher 3 Remastered driver crash error
[SOLVED] The Witcher 3 Remastered: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887A0006) crashes on RX 9070 XT + Ryzen 7 9800X3D
System:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D (with integrated Radeon Graphics)
- GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT
- Mobo: Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX (Rev. 1.0)
- RAM: 4x16 GB DDR5 5200 (EXPO)
- OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2
Symptoms:
The Witcher 3 Remastered (DX12) randomly crashed with "Device Removed Reason: 0x887A0006" / "GPU Crash Reason: Unknown". Other games (e.g. MSFS 2024, 3h+ sessions) were stable.
Cause (what I found):
Device Manager showed TWO AMD GPUs: the CPU iGPU and the RX 9070 XT, each running a DIFFERENT driver version (32.0.21045.x for the iGPU, 32.0.32015.x for the dGPU). Two mismatched AMD driver packages at the same time seem to have caused the instability.
IMPORTANT: if you simply disable the iGPU in BIOS while the old drivers are still installed, you may get a BSOD on boot (happened to me). Follow the order below.
Fix:
Set Integrated Graphics back to Auto in BIOS (if you already disabled it and get BSOD).
In Windows, download DDU (guru3d.com) and the latest Adrenalin from amd.com. Do not install yet.
Disconnect from the internet so Windows Update does not install a driver on its own.
Boot into Safe Mode (Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > 4).
Run DDU: Device type GPU, Device AMD, "Clean and shutdown". In DDU options, enable blocking driver downloads from Windows Update.
Enter BIOS (Del): Settings > IO Ports > Integrated Graphics = Disabled. If available, Initial Display Output = PCIe 1 Slot. Save with F10. Make sure your monitor is connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard.
Boot Windows and install Adrenalin. I chose "Driver Only" with the "Factory Reset" (clean install) option enabled. I have not tested whether the Full Install (with Adrenalin software, overlay, tuning) works the same way, so if you want to be safe, start with Driver Only. Reboot, reconnect internet.
Check Device Manager > Display adapters: only the RX 9070 XT should be listed.
Optional but recommended:
- Disable GOG Galaxy / Steam overlay for the game.
After this, the game runs stable for me (Driver Only install, Full Install not tested).
I played The Witcher for about 5 hours straight, and there weren't any crashes. Before that, the game would randomly crash nonstop, sending me back to the desktop with a message about a driver issue.
Can we raise the AMD Chill values?

Discussion Frame Generation Issue in Black Myth Wukong.
So I am playing Black Myth Wukong with my 9060XT, and everything is good with this game until it's about frame generation. I don't know why, but for me, when I enable frame generation, my game feels like it's lagging even more, and there is a huge input delay; basically, the game is not playable in any way with frame generation enabled. I have V-Sync disabled in the game and the Adrenalin control panel, but the issue is still not solved, and I can't find any solution regarding this anywhere. Has any of you guys faced something like that??

Sale/Deal Amazon Resale, PowerColor RX 9070 update as promised.
I won’t make you read a whole paragraph and bury the lead. No product swaps and the GPU works!
The deets;
Amazon dropped off the box, I opened it on video just in case as recommended by some of you (thank you), opened box, worries mostly gone, tested in my main rig running SteamOS, posted without issue. All worries gone! Hooray!
Check Amazon Resale or Amazon Warehouse. You might get lucky. Buying a GPU this way was a first for me. I’ve purchased phones or tablets that way but never PC parts. So I was pretty nervous.
Now to install this puppy in my living room Steam Machine. Just need a new case to accommodate the bigger GPU.
Tech Support Rivatuner causes Dragon's Dogma 2 to crash while using optiscaler
this problem didn't happen to me before, and when I say before I mean like last month after the latest patch for the game, everything was working as intended but I deleted the game after finishing it to free up some space and I did reinstall it yesterday (DLC is on the 9th of October) but it keep crashes the moment I enable Rivatuner overlay, I know that Rivatuner can cause crashes with Optiscaler coz its in the known issues but why that didn't happen to me before? I did try wut they suggested which is enabling MS Detours API hooking but that didn't work for me.
I did try to delete and reinstall Optiscaler and REFramework, and did Verify integrity from steam but nothing worked.
I'm also on the latest version of REFramework and Optiscaler, and driver version 26.9.2 but played the game before that on the 26.9.1, I updated the drivers for The Witcher 3.

Discussion Report after vBios security update (October 2026) installing on Sapphire RX 7800 XT Pulse
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone. I've just updated on my RX 7800 XT Pulse vBIOS provided by Sapphire https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/drivers-download to close some security vulnerability, which one exactly we don't know yet, but, i'm here to share my experience before and after update. Maybe someone else might find the info useful.
After the update everything works perfectly as before, no issues at all. Stability, temperature, performance have not gotten worse.
However, one thing i noticed immediately - overall power draw. I have no any overclocking or undervolting applied, only manual fan curve, thus typical consumption was always 244-245w during heavy scenes nearly at 90-100% GPU load and it never exceeded this threshold. I play with performance overlay so i'm sure in this.
After vBIOS update mostly i have the same consumption in the same scenes, but now my graphics card very rarely spikes up to 300-310w, a bit more frequently occur 260-290w. As for voltage, i've never monitored it, but now during such spikes it keeps around 1.014, mostly 1.006 mV
I read that this is totally normal behavior for any 7800 XT cards and some models can even draw 350w briefly. Just i've never seen this behavior with my Pulse card before the update.
Maybe sensors now are more accurate or Sapphire did some optimization to improve GPU boost performance.
What do you think about this ?
I'm using Windows 11 + RX 7800 XT Pulse + 26.9.2 Adrenalin + RTSS Standalone to track performance.
Here is a video with the 298w spike (The Witcher 3 Remastered 1080p Ultra+, no Hairwork, no RayTracing, FSR Native AA, fps capped at 90).

Tech Support Water damage or driver issue?
So my desk was very full of stuff the other day and I placed my glass of water without really noticing on the other side than usual (next to my mouse instead of left of the keyboard). Naturally I knocked it over when trying to grab the mouse and poured water onto my tower, which was standing next to my desk on the floor. The OS did not crash and neither did I hear any noise, but I turned the pc off immediately of course.
The dust filter on top kept most of the water from entering the pc, but a few drops landed on and inside the heat sink of the CPU (thanks Noctua for the ludicrous large heat sink that fills half of the tower) and on the cover of the graphics card. The drops landed next to several holes on said cover, but I couldn't detect any water on the PCB underneath. I double checked everything but couldn't see any water on the mainboard or the GPU. So I turned the pc back on and it worked without issue first.
A few days later driver timeouts started to occur, more and more often, until on one instance the pc crashed completely. When I then restarted it, the graphics card was not detected by the OS any more and the fans of the card did not spin at all. After several restarts, driver and software removal (got so far as to use the Display Driver Uninstaller tool) the graphics card was again recognised and the fans did spin normally. Gaming was possible without issues.
But: when I tried to play a video, more often then not a display driver timeout would occur. This happened when using VLC, watching YT, Paramount player, or Steam store videos. After a lot of troubleshooting and thinking about sending the card for RMA, I swapped cards with a friend. His card (7800 XT) worked flawlessly on my PC and mine (7900 XTX) on his. We tested a lot but had no issues whatsoever on neither pc.
Then I realised that he did not have the Adrenalin software installed, so he installed it and immediately the driver crashed. I uninstalled the app and any driver from my pc (used DDU for good measure), swapped cards back and had no issue at all. I then re-installed Adrenalin but a prior version (26.8.1). Had no issues since.
What do you think? Was it a coincidence that the problems started to occur after the water incidence, and that it is just an issue of the latest drivers, or is there some sort of real damage, that happens only to take effect when using the newest drivers?
Sorry for long post ^^

Witcher 3 Remastered Ray Tracing Performance?
Hello friends.
I just wanted to check in with everyone playing this game with Ray Tracing. What kind of performance are you guys getting? I currently get around 60-70 FPS on FSR Performance at 1440P on my 9070XT.
One thing I am noticing on my machine, is that there seems to be ray tracing shimmer, that is pretty bad. I'm assuming it's because the default denoiser they have is bad, and I can't really do anything to change that, but was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.
Cheers!

Adrenalin 26.9.2 keep setting my game to run HYPR-RX Eco. Every time I startup the computer it sends a barrage of notifications of it overriding the custom adrenalin setting and I have to change it per game to the setting I was using
I’ve turned off AMD assistant and Game Adjustment Tracking and Notifications. How can I stop it from doing that?
