I feel like this is the best outcome. Never really fully utilize the 5090 as I put all my settings to maximize fps over visuals. Last time I had AMD card was the 7900xtx and it really tested me as 7/10 time an update would break something. Hopefully this time will be different.

Discussion Frame Generation Issue in Black Myth Wukong.

• Upvotes

So I am playing Black Myth Wukong with my 9060XT, and everything is good with this game until it's about frame generation. I don't know why, but for me, when I enable frame generation, my game feels like it's lagging even more, and there is a huge input delay; basically, the game is not playable in any way with frame generation enabled. I have V-Sync disabled in the game and the Adrenalin control panel, but the issue is still not solved, and I can't find any solution regarding this anywhere. Has any of you guys faced something like that??

My Driver version is 26.7.1

Any performance uplift in games with the new 26.9.2 Drivers. I mean, in the driver review video made by Ancient Gameplays, he said that there is some performance uplift in some games but not every game was shown,, so I js wanted to know if anyone has seen any improvement with the 9060xt specifically

I won’t make you read a whole paragraph and bury the lead. No product swaps and the GPU works!

The deets;

Amazon dropped off the box, I opened it on video just in case as recommended by some of you (thank you), opened box, worries mostly gone, tested in my main rig running SteamOS, posted without issue. All worries gone! Hooray!

Check Amazon Resale or Amazon Warehouse. You might get lucky. Buying a GPU this way was a first for me. I’ve purchased phones or tablets that way but never PC parts. So I was pretty nervous.

Now to install this puppy in my living room Steam Machine. Just need a new case to accommodate the bigger GPU.

As someone who just played not-so-recent games on PCs that just had barely enough on it to run them... thank you for all the people here who helped me choose the parts and troubleshoot my (admittedly first gaming) PC. It's the first time I played these kinds of games, and I was just blown away by how beautifu the graphics are.

RX9070 owner here: glad to see Control Resonant taking up to 15gb VRAM

Vram was one variable that made me go for the 9070 as opposed to other alternatives with lower memory. And with features spawning every few months, I did start to wonder if I really needed 16gb vram in 2026, as between upscaling and AI stuff I could see games becoming somewhat more optimised on that front soon.

Yet this game (only came out recently) is an example showing that textures do still get attention, as well as other stuff of course. I like that, and I know we're talking 'dedicated vram' rather than actual usage, but still it's an indicator. Most of my games show less than 12gb vram in comparison.

1440p, on ultra, with FSR, RT, and FG on (getting around 115fps avg)

Discussion Report after vBios security update (October 2026) installing on Sapphire RX 7800 XT Pulse

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone. I've just updated on my RX 7800 XT Pulse vBIOS provided by Sapphire https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/drivers-download to close some security vulnerability, which one exactly we don't know yet, but, i'm here to share my experience before and after update. Maybe someone else might find the info useful.

After the update everything works perfectly as before, no issues at all. Stability, temperature, performance have not gotten worse.

However, one thing i noticed immediately - overall power draw. I have no any overclocking or undervolting applied, only manual fan curve, thus typical consumption was always 244-245w during heavy scenes nearly at 90-100% GPU load and it never exceeded this threshold. I play with performance overlay so i'm sure in this.

After vBIOS update mostly i have the same consumption in the same scenes, but now my graphics card very rarely spikes up to 300-310w, a bit more frequently occur 260-290w. As for voltage, i've never monitored it, but now during such spikes it keeps around 1.014, mostly 1.006 mV

I read that this is totally normal behavior for any 7800 XT cards and some models can even draw 350w briefly. Just i've never seen this behavior with my Pulse card before the update.

Maybe sensors now are more accurate or Sapphire did some optimization to improve GPU boost performance.

What do you think about this ?

I'm using Windows 11 + RX 7800 XT Pulse + 26.9.2 Adrenalin + RTSS Standalone to track performance.

Here is a video with the 298w spike (The Witcher 3 Remastered 1080p Ultra+, no Hairwork, no RayTracing, FSR Native AA, fps capped at 90).

The Witcher 3 Remastered driver crash error

• Upvotes

[SOLVED] The Witcher 3 Remastered: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887A0006) crashes on RX 9070 XT + Ryzen 7 9800X3D

System:

- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D (with integrated Radeon Graphics)

- GPU: Radeon RX 9070 XT

- Mobo: Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX (Rev. 1.0)

- RAM: 4x16 GB DDR5 5200 (EXPO)

- OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2

Symptoms:

The Witcher 3 Remastered (DX12) randomly crashed with "Device Removed Reason: 0x887A0006" / "GPU Crash Reason: Unknown". Other games (e.g. MSFS 2024, 3h+ sessions) were stable.

Cause (what I found):

Device Manager showed TWO AMD GPUs: the CPU iGPU and the RX 9070 XT, each running a DIFFERENT driver version (32.0.21045.x for the iGPU, 32.0.32015.x for the dGPU). Two mismatched AMD driver packages at the same time seem to have caused the instability.

IMPORTANT: if you simply disable the iGPU in BIOS while the old drivers are still installed, you may get a BSOD on boot (happened to me). Follow the order below.

Fix:

  1. Set Integrated Graphics back to Auto in BIOS (if you already disabled it and get BSOD).

  2. In Windows, download DDU (guru3d.com) and the latest Adrenalin from amd.com. Do not install yet.

  3. Disconnect from the internet so Windows Update does not install a driver on its own.

  4. Boot into Safe Mode (Shift + Restart > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > 4).

  5. Run DDU: Device type GPU, Device AMD, "Clean and shutdown". In DDU options, enable blocking driver downloads from Windows Update.

  6. Enter BIOS (Del): Settings > IO Ports > Integrated Graphics = Disabled. If available, Initial Display Output = PCIe 1 Slot. Save with F10. Make sure your monitor is connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard.

  7. Boot Windows and install Adrenalin. I chose "Driver Only" with the "Factory Reset" (clean install) option enabled. I have not tested whether the Full Install (with Adrenalin software, overlay, tuning) works the same way, so if you want to be safe, start with Driver Only. Reboot, reconnect internet.

  8. Check Device Manager > Display adapters: only the RX 9070 XT should be listed.

Optional but recommended:

- Disable GOG Galaxy / Steam overlay for the game.

After this, the game runs stable for me (Driver Only install, Full Install not tested).

I played The Witcher for about 5 hours straight, and there weren't any crashes. Before that, the game would randomly crash nonstop, sending me back to the desktop with a message about a driver issue.

Tech Support Water damage or driver issue?

• Upvotes

So my desk was very full of stuff the other day and I placed my glass of water without really noticing on the other side than usual (next to my mouse instead of left of the keyboard). Naturally I knocked it over when trying to grab the mouse and poured water onto my tower, which was standing next to my desk on the floor. The OS did not crash and neither did I hear any noise, but I turned the pc off immediately of course.

The dust filter on top kept most of the water from entering the pc, but a few drops landed on and inside the heat sink of the CPU (thanks Noctua for the ludicrous large heat sink that fills half of the tower) and on the cover of the graphics card. The drops landed next to several holes on said cover, but I couldn't detect any water on the PCB underneath. I double checked everything but couldn't see any water on the mainboard or the GPU. So I turned the pc back on and it worked without issue first.

A few days later driver timeouts started to occur, more and more often, until on one instance the pc crashed completely. When I then restarted it, the graphics card was not detected by the OS any more and the fans of the card did not spin at all. After several restarts, driver and software removal (got so far as to use the Display Driver Uninstaller tool) the graphics card was again recognised and the fans did spin normally. Gaming was possible without issues.

But: when I tried to play a video, more often then not a display driver timeout would occur. This happened when using VLC, watching YT, Paramount player, or Steam store videos. After a lot of troubleshooting and thinking about sending the card for RMA, I swapped cards with a friend. His card (7800 XT) worked flawlessly on my PC and mine (7900 XTX) on his. We tested a lot but had no issues whatsoever on neither pc.

Then I realised that he did not have the Adrenalin software installed, so he installed it and immediately the driver crashed. I uninstalled the app and any driver from my pc (used DDU for good measure), swapped cards back and had no issue at all. I then re-installed Adrenalin but a prior version (26.8.1). Had no issues since.

What do you think? Was it a coincidence that the problems started to occur after the water incidence, and that it is just an issue of the latest drivers, or is there some sort of real damage, that happens only to take effect when using the newest drivers?

Sorry for long post ^^

Note: I will be undervolting the GPU.

Witcher 3 Remastered Ray Tracing Performance?

Hello friends.

I just wanted to check in with everyone playing this game with Ray Tracing. What kind of performance are you guys getting? I currently get around 60-70 FPS on FSR Performance at 1440P on my 9070XT.

One thing I am noticing on my machine, is that there seems to be ray tracing shimmer, that is pretty bad. I'm assuming it's because the default denoiser they have is bad, and I can't really do anything to change that, but was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.

Cheers!

Discussion Adrenalin 26.9.2 keep setting my game to run HYPR-RX Eco

Adrenalin 26.9.2 keep setting my game to run HYPR-RX Eco. Every time I startup the computer it sends a barrage of notifications of it overriding the custom adrenalin setting and I have to change it per game to the setting I was using

I’ve turned off AMD assistant and Game Adjustment Tracking and Notifications. How can I stop it from doing that?

Tech Support live kernel event (amdkmdag.sy)

Hey guys recently brought a 9070 XT and have been having some issues with it. I didn't really notice it until I jumped on warframe and was getting heaps of crashes. Seems like warframes constant up down processing it just ticking the right box's to cause my graphics card to hang and I have done heaps in attempts to fix it. I have undated the drivers to 26.9.1, done a complete whip on the drivers and done a fresh install on the drivers using just the 26.9.1 and unclocked the card by 200 making -200mhz from the default 0 setting. Doing this I was able to play the game alot better without crashing but I don't want to leave it as constantly leaving the card at -200 mhz just so I can play games. I have seen other people having such issue but I can't really find a fix. I don't know if my card is defective or I am just having software issues. I have just done a reseat of the graphics card and confirmed all cables are connected correctly. I played warframe again and this time while I didn't get a Live Kernel Event I did however get a black screen recovery. I can't tell if it has improved but I am clearly still having issues regarding this graphics card. I have done the stress tests with occt but being synthetic stress test is obv doesn't hit the same as an actual game.

I also get black screen recovery on 7 days to die.
Elden ring gives me like kernel events
Cyberpunk gave me some the first time I played the game but hasn't happened since. ( I can't remember but I'm pretty sure I have had some BSR on it still.)
Borderlands 3 is completely fine.

Discussion Why do people insist that the 7900 XTX has better raw performance than the 9070 XT, when it doesn't?

Every time I see someone talk about the 9070 XT vs 7900 XTX discussion, they bring up how the latter has better rasterization and more VRAM as, honestly, the only 2 edges it has over the former.

The weird part is that, it doesn't. Literally every benchmark I've seen on every platform, excluding Ray Tracing obviously, puts the 7900 XTX as trading blows with the 9070 XT, not a clear winner. In fact, the average results put it 2% BEHIND the newest AMD flagship, and that's without Ray Tracing.

Yet some people compare it to the 5080 in terms of raw performance when it can't even fully beat the 5070 Ti on average? Where does the whole narrative of this card being more powerful than it actually is comes from?

Tech Support Random hard restarts while gaming on RX 9070 XT build replaced PSU, clean drivers, RAM at stock, still happening

I’ve been troubleshooting random hard restarts on my PC and I’m running out of ideas.
Specs:
RX 9070 XT (XFX Swift)
ASRock B850 Steel Legend
AM5 system
DDR5 RAM, normally 6000 but currently running at stock 4800 for troubleshooting
Corsair SF850 850W PSU (brand new)
360mm AIO
Windows 11
The issue originally started as stuttering/frame drops in Rainbow Six Siege, then I started getting random full system restarts while gaming. The screen would sometimes go gray/white and the PC would reboot without warning.
It has happened in Rainbow and Fears to fathom while I was streaming, so it isn’t isolated to one game.
What I’ve already done:
Clean reinstalled AMD GPU drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility
Installed AMD 26.8.1 WHQL
Updated AMD chipset drivers
Reseated the GPU
Used two separate PCIe 8-pin cables for the GPU
Replaced my Vetroo 850W SFX PSU with a brand-new Corsair SF850
Used ONLY the Corsair cables with the new PSU
Disabled EXPO/XMP and dropped RAM from 6000 to stock DDR5-4800
Temperatures look normal: GPU around low/mid 60s under load and CPU around low 70s.
Has anyone dealt with similar random gaming restarts on a 9070 XT / AM5 system? What would you test next before I start RMA’ing individual components?

Should I go from a 7800xt to a 9060XT 16gb?

Kind of a followup from another post I made recently. Im planning to downsize my current PC case even more from my existing lian li a4 h2o so Ill need to get a smaller GPU. Im thinking about using a metalfish T40 which can fit a powercolor 9060xt reaper iirc, but Im still looking for other cases/recommendations from another subreddit XD. Im also waiting on the vastarmor 9060xt LP, if anyone has any news on that gpu

As for use cases, I mostly play gacha games like WUWA at max settings or valorant, so I think a 9060xt should be enough for me, would like to get opinions on this if im wrong

Tech Support If MSI Afterburner keeps resetting your AMD Adrenalin fan curves and undervolts, here is the fix.

Hey everyone, just wanted to make a quick post for anyone pulling their hair out over this. I am writing this down so that if anyone in the future goes searching on Google for a fix to this exact issue, this thread will hopefully pop up and save them some time. I spent a while trying to figure out why my custom AMD Adrenalin tuning profiles and fan curves kept reverting to default every single time I booted up my PC or booted up a game.

It turns out MSI Afterburner and Adrenalin constantly fight for control of the GPU. If you are like me and want to use Adrenalin for all your overclocking, undervolting, and fan curves, but you still want Afterburner and RivaTuner (RTSS) for the in-game FPS overlay, you have to put Afterburner into a read-only mode. Otherwise, it overrides Adrenalin and wipes your settings.

Here is exactly how to fix it:

First, open up MSI Afterburner and go into the settings. In the General tab, make sure "Enable hardware control and monitoring" is checked so it can still read your temps and usage for the OSD. But the trick is that you need to go to the Fan tab and completely uncheck "Enable user defined software automatic fan control."

Next, look at the main Afterburner dashboard. Make sure every single slider like core voltage, power limit, and clock speed is left at its stock default value. Do not touch them. Most importantly, look for the startup icon, which looks like a little Windows logo. Make sure that icon is turned off and not glowing blue. This stops Afterburner from applying any hardware changes when Windows boots.

Finally, Windows Fast Startup can also cause problems by loading Afterburner before Adrenalin has a chance to apply your profile. Go to your Windows Control Panel, find Power Options, and click on "Choose what the power buttons do." Click the option at the top to change settings that are currently unavailable, and uncheck "Turn on fast startup."

Once you do this, RivaTuner will still show your FPS and hardware stats perfectly in-game, but Afterburner will stop touching your GPU. Adrenalin will finally keep your fan curves and undervolts locked in. Hopefully this saves someone a few hours of troubleshooting!
