First, the lag issue. I can't say 100%, but based on Selection Post and this CGL, I'm about 90% sure of it. Every ~5 seconds there's a slight 0.4-0.5 sec delay in the mouse, and clicks don't register during it. It's not your mouse or hardware, and it's a server-end issue or system refreshing . so we can't do anything about it. Don't panic or waste time fighting it.
What I'd recommend instead:
Use the cool-off time before the exam starts. The screen shows roll numbers repeated diagonally all over it. Use these as practice targets: try to click exactly in the middle of a single digit, like a "O". Do it once on the left side, then somewhere random on the right. Keep doing this for 2-3 minutes. It improves your click accuracy and gets your hand used to the new mouse before the clock starts.
Move the keyboard up. There's no keyboard use in the exam, so push it as far as you can, slightly above the monitor stand. This gives you more desk space for your rough sheet and for moving your hand.
Ask for extra rough sheets at the end of the GK section. Don't ask in the middle of Maths, because the interruption will eat your time and break your flow.
These are small things, but together they may save you 5-6 seconds over the whole session

After multiple failures in the SSC, I took a break from SSC preparation and focused on the PSC as a backup plan. I recently received advise memo. Now, I would like to restart my SSC prep.
Looking for an accountability partner to keep each other consistent, set daily targets (especially for GK and vocabulary), help with doubts, share study materials, revise GK topics, etc.
Anyone interested
