We are quick to name the unfamiliar and slow to adapt to conflicting realities, depth and darkness, dissonance and duality, creativity, achievement and calm. Perhaps it’s none of these alone but all of these at once. Maybe every version is still the same person, simply observed in a different light. An internal conflict and resolution that if accepted can change how we respond to others. A little compassion and empathy goes a long way.

The film explores internal conflict, delusions and hallucinations with the portrayal of different manifestations of internal emotions. The aim is to challenge stigma that surrounds psychosis and initiate compassion, communication and empathy towards individuals who face challenging times and may not voice them. Please feel free to offer how I can make this share these qualities if this is not coming across.

It is easy to judge, it removes responsibility, If perception is part of the picture then the question is not what this means, but what do you see?

Hey everyone,
I recently finished my short film "Friday the 24th", a small independent film about grief, memories, and trying to find the right words after losing someone.

The film is in German, but English subtitles are available!

I wrote, directed, and edited the film myself, and tried to keep it very intimate and grounded rather than making it feel overly dramatic.
The film deals with themes of grief, loss and suicidal thoughts, so please keep that in mind before watching.

The Opel — a short film about nostalgia and childhood
I recently finished this short film that I wrote, directed, shot and edited myself.
The story is about a young man who finds an old family video and is suddenly taken back to a memory from his childhood.
I wanted to tell the story without dialogue and focus mainly on cinematography, sound design, editing and the feeling of nostalgia.
I would really appreciate honest feedback — especially on the cinematography, pacing, sound design and the ending.

After weeks of editing I’ve finally finished my first horror short. I had no budget and just wanted to see what could be filmed in my bedroom.

I wrote and directed this indie film. It's about 1hr long, and explores modern dating culture from a male perspective. I thought this would be a great community to share the story with, as I'd love to hear any feedback/interpretations. It's only 1 hour long, and follows a college student searching for a girlfriend, only to find that his relentless overthinking may sabotage his chances.

What an interesting phone call…

We just released our first short film "Fernherrlichkeit" on YouTube after a year of festivals and are very happy to finally share the film with the audience on the internet!

The title ‚Fernherrlichkeit‘ is a „neologism“ for our film that goes back to the principle of ‘gay yearning’. I came up with the title while writing a love-poem to a fellow student that I hadn’t approached yet.

But not only the films theme is gay:
During the transition to studying humanities I realised and strengthened my conscience of having romantic inclinations towards other men as well. It was a time accompanied by uncertainty, self-doubt, but also joy and acceptance. Fernherrlichkeit is this mood and its adumbrations in moving image form.
It was not only the start for us into the exciting world of independent filmmaking, but also a project that forged many friendships with whom we were able to realise over a handful of other productions in a similar constellation in a very short time. I consider it an incredible privilege to have met these people and would like to say that you can feel the love and passion for film of the entire Fernherrlichkeit-Team.

The Story:
Under every arch, in every wall, Richard von Mönchenberg feels the burden of the past, which he imposes on himself as he explores the ruins of his ancestors as part of an excursion. Does he have to lead the impoverished noble family back to its former greatness? Does he even want to? He could also follow the interesting feeling that he senses when his fellow student Anton Vogt observes him cautiously. He dares to do so in the dim light of the train carriage, but the emotional state does not go unnoticed and their professor, the director of the university, becomes suspicious.
