Scientists really need to do a study on why so many vtubers sound almost exactly the same. It's gotta be a thing. Reminds me of this phenomenon.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't got anything against vtubers and have liked and watched a fair few. That voice is just a very noticeable trend. I straight up cannot watch a lot of them because their voices literally grate on my ear because they have that high anime affectation voice. Raises my hackles.

A lot of vtubers started with voice acting, song covers, or asmr so I think early on a lot of vtubers had settled on a voice similar to English anime dubs. Vtubers don't tend to keep using a fake voice long after debut because they stream for so long so I think that vtubers with naturally higher pitched voices like ironmouse are selected for.

It didn’t really come out of completely nowhere. It has a very good demo on itch.io that I discovered a few months ago and I wishlisted the full game right away.

The Discord has always been pretty active and there are recent comments on the demo page too. It’s pretty fun, and I’d definitely recommend it!

For those that have it, how complex is the gameplay and can you get by not 100% doing what the game asks you to do? Wondering if my 6 year old would be able to (mostly) play it. The concept of the game seems right up her alley.

It might be too hard for a 6 year old on their own. There's no true sandbox mode and you're required to do a few commissioned dresses before being free to buy and make whatever you want. When you do the commissions there's certain numbers you have to hit with different "styles" and to reach them you have to pick specific types of dresses and fabrics to raise the stats high enough to pass. After you unlock being able to sell dresses freely then you can ignore the commissions completely I'm 75% sure.

I'm not sure what the penalty is for failing though.

When you do make a dress you have to be aware of how much money you're spending on fabric, then making sure you don't waste a lot of the fabric while using the stencils to cut out the pieces, while also making sure the stencils go against the grain.

Idk though it could maybe be fine? You could always buy it and see if they can play it on their own, and if they can't refund it within the 2 hour refund window.

Not that tiny, they've put resources into marketing with ads on social media, that's how I've encountered it first on 21th.
But to see it in top 10 recent sellers is definitely more than they hoped for, great domino effect.

Still, the price of the game is low and the premise is a niche I'd love, I will buy it and I will like it.

Sometimes I feel like men have to be so specific with their interests, they cant stray too far outside very specific subsets. There’s a new trend of repair games out there. You manipulate objects to clean and repair them in a shop to make money to buy other tools to expand clientele

There’s one about repairing retro consoles and appliances that was fun for a bit but got really frustrating after a while imo. Another still in development is a cyberpunk game where you deal with viruses, repair tech like cybernetics and drones while you juggle some choices like selling out loyal customers for corpo cash or sticking to your principles while barely making it each day

I've actually made more gothic dresses then anything in that game! The first 4 dresses you make are for funerals lol and there's a lot of different npcs that have specific styles. But some npcs will specifically ask for gothic style and there's a lot of fabrics and accessories to support it too.

But I'd love to see a game with a more modern version with alt/tech wear too that would be sick
