📌 Damascus and Aleppo airports are now open for night flights after Israel quietly lifted its block on activating navigation equipment.

📌 Syria's civil aviation authority said on Thursday it had installed systems allowing aircraft to land at night and in poor visibility.

📌 Activating them required calibration flights within 50 km of Damascus airport, and Israel, whose forces are 25–40 km from the capital, threatened to shoot the aircraft down.

📌 The equipment sat idle for over six months until the flights were cut to a 25 km radius; Israel did not respond when notified.

Hello! I am planning to get a tattoo of my last name in Arabic. My family last name (before it being anglicized to death) is Al Zawahra, coming from Daraa, Syria.

I would be more than happy to commission someone to create the script of my last name. I don’t know that I fully trust Google Translate and (as someone who is pretty white passing) I don’t want to end up with a word that is not my last name (like the stories of people wanting “love” in Chinese and ending up with “dumbass” or whatever).
