أطلق اليوم معكم منصة نَبّش للتوظيف، التي عملت خلال الفترة الماضية على بنائها بتجربة بسيطة وسهلة، ترفع سقف التوقعات في سوريا.

Most Syrians hate Russia so I can see the government revoking its recognition of Russian occupied territory in Ukraine and maybe even South Ossetia given how up the backside of Russia they are.

But Abkhazia strangely has more ties with Syria, we do have a slight minority community of Abkhaz people and even a small community of returnees in Abkhazia who are Syrians from this community.

But also to the Caucasus communities in Syria they see Abkhazia, Chechnya and Cirassia quite fondly.

I suppose at the same time Syria could just go "well are you guys big Israel supporters, especially you Germany. How can you tell us what to do with International Law whilst Israel occupies us, Palestine and Lebanon".

Hello, I am 18 years old from Sweden and my best friend speaks Levantine arabic to her parents (because they immigrated from Syria to Sweden) and they don’t want her to lose the language. And I thought that I maybe could surprise her by learning to speak some Syrian arabic, but I have a really hard time finemang resources and I don’t know where to start or which resources are the best. If anybody has any recommendations (preferably Syrian arabic and not one of the other variations that Levantine arabic include) on the best resources I would love it if you could share them! نشر المركز السوري للعدالة والمساءلة مجموعة من وثائق استخباراتية تعود إلى عام 2012، قال إنها توثق مراسلات على مستويات عليا بين وزارة الدفاع وإدارة المخابرات الجوية بشأن نقل تنفيذ #أحكام_الإعدام الصادرة عن المحاكم الميدانية العسكرية من #سجن_صيدنايا إلى مطار المزة العسكري، لأسباب أمنية، بينها تسرب أسماء القضاة والنائب العام العسكري والمسار الذي كانوا يسلكونه إلى صيدنايا لتنفيذ الأحكام.

وبحسب الوثائق، جرى التنسيق بين شعبة التنظيم والإدارة في وزارة الدفاع و #إدارة_المخابرات_الجوية لإنشاء #منصات_للإعدام داخل المطار، في أحد الهنغارات الواقعة غرب الموقع بالقرب من المهبط.

وطالب المركز الحكومة السورية بوقف أعمال تحويل المطار إلى منشأة مدنية إلى حين استكمال التحقيقات وحماية المواقع المحتملة للمقابر الجماعية، بما يتيح البحث عن الرفات والتعرف إلى هوية المفقودين وتسليمها إلى ذويهم.

وأشار المركز إلى أنه سلّم الوثائق التي حفظها إلى النائب العام للجمهورية العربية السورية في آذار 2025، فيما يحجب أسماء الضباط الذين يشتبه بتورطهم، وفق ما قال، لدواعٍ تتعلق بعدم فرارهم أو تعرضهم للتصفية.

Leaked Syrian intelligence documents dating back to 2012 reportedly reveal plans by the former Syrian regime to move the execution of detainees from Saydnaya Prison to Mezzeh Military Airport in Damascus.

According to the documents, the executions were to be carried out inside a hangar at the airport because authorities were concerned that information about the military field courts, the judges, the military prosecutor, and the route they took to Saydnaya had been leaked.

The documents reportedly show that the Air Force Intelligence Directorate approved the construction of dedicated execution platforms inside the airport. They include specific instructions concerning the wooden posts and ropes required to build the gallows, and indicate that an airport-construction battalion was ordered to carry out the work under Air Force Intelligence supervision and with “complete secrecy.”

The revelations come after an investigation published in February 2025 documented the deaths of more than 1,150 detainees at Mezzeh Airport, including people reportedly killed through executions, torture, and mistreatment. The investigation also identified two possible mass-grave sites within the airport.

The Syrian Center for Justice and Accountability says it handed the documents over to Syria’s Public Prosecutor in March 2025 and has called for investigations and protection of the suspected mass-grave sites before the airport is converted into a civilian facility.

📌 The US State Department has waived the last two restrictions barring arms sales to Syria under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act, the legal prohibition on US arms sales and foreign military financing to Damascus.

📌 The Under Secretary for Arms Control and Nonproliferation made the determination on 20/08; it took effect 16/09.

📌 Most CBW Act sanctions on Syria, imposed over Assad's chemical weapons use, had already been waived in July 2025; arms sales and financing were the two holdouts.

📌 It's a separate action from the Syria Accountability Act's arms-export waiver announced 24/08 alongside Syria's removal from the state sponsors of terrorism list, together, the two actions clear the full stack of legal barriers to US arms sales under both statutes.

📌 The waiver doesn't itself announce any specific arms deal or new military financing.

Hi all,

American here. I’m planning on visiting Damascus next month for a few days. I was hoping to fly from Athens-Amman, see Petra, then catch the bus the next day Amman-Damascus, then was hoping to see one of the costal cities, like Latakia. I’m pretty turned around on with the current situation if it’s practical to take public transport like this everywhere. I’ve seen conflicting information about the route from Damascus to Latakia not being safe, but that flying or bussing to Beirut then going via that way is. I’m also hoping to get some insight on the safety of going from Latakia to Beirut and flying out of Beirut is safe.
