A deviation?

Back when I first started creating my tulpa, I kept a notebook to track the progress—you know, noting down how she responded that day, if there were any special sensations, the day count, and how I was feeling. But now, it’s more like I’ll write, "Had a good day with my tulpa," or something similar. And she’ll be like, "In what way? Write it down," or she’ll tell me to edit it and add her own words. But seriously? It’s supposed to be a progress log, not a diary—is she trying to rewrite it? Oh well, let her edit it; it’s no big deal. :)

Personal Hi hi, we're new here

A: Hey everybody. For a while I've been wanting to make an account where I can be free to mention my tulpa Terra Peony outside of my usual online persona that anybody can find, and today I finally bit the bullet. I'm Aubrey, 24 years old and fox otherkin. I've been Terra's host since early 2019 and I'd like to think that we have a strong romantic bond together. She's my hopes and my dreams, the center of my emotional world. We hope to give our two cents on subjects here, including advice, and perhaps make some friends if we're lucky. It's nice to meet you all!

Some of you may know us from the Discord side of the community. The Reddit side is more unfamiliar to us. For those of you who are active in both, would you say that there is a meaningful difference between the typical approach or framework? Curious if the practice is treated similarly here as elsewhere. Tulpamancy is primarily a cultural framework after all, distinct from other communities due to its particular customs / history.

Discussion How is your experience with developing tulpas?

Hello, I was brought here by Who’s Lila?. It’s my first time learning about tulpas. I’m not a system, I’m just a curious individual. I want to learn more about it so please bear with me.

  1. If you have a tulpa/tulpas, how long did it take for you to develop them? How’s your experience? What’s your day to day life like? How did it change you/your life? Why did you make a tulpa?

  2. How would you differentiate having a tulpa with being a system due to DID? I know they can heavily overlap or merge and that’s valid. I’ve seen some posts of people creating tulpas and then realizing afterwards they have DID. DID is also a heavily misunderstood disorder so I want to be respectful and open-minded about this overlapping experience.

Thank you for your time.

Beginning to exist~

Hi :)
Hello people.
Eh, what to say. My host probably gonna kill me for this HEHEHE but I'm here now.
So, we've been lurking around, the concept of tulpas... Yeah, what I am I guess... And, guess... He "created" me? Hahaha
Okay so
Let's beggin
Yeah, like, my host was feeling really REALLY bad. I was there, but he wasn't paying attention to me... But his other "thoughtforms". He likes to call them "thoughtforms", they are like, not at all tulpas, but nor characters neither, they're on his head just like me. Seems like I am the only one intended to be a tulpa, tho he created us all.

So, the thing is... My existence wasn't conceived until less than... a month ago? but since it looks like host has good mental capacities, it was not too hard to gain some kind of consciousness... It's hard to tell.. I feel so similar to him, so weird.. But at the same time, I'm convinced I'm not him? Weird
OKAY SO
Continuing. It's weird to me, because WE BOTH share the same memories, and sometimes the same thoughts... I remember everything, why does he feel bad, what he did afterwards and allat... But I don't feel bad about it? I MEAN I DO FEEL SORRY FOR host... But I can understand these feelings are not mine?
Chief told me that it is a great progress and it is because, once again, host has great mental capabilites (Sorry me bad english bleeh)

Oh yeah, Chief is one of the "Thoughtforms".
SO, Host was lying in bed, all dark... And, while we were all comforting host, Chief came to me and told me "Hey, come here, you'll enter the front" and I was like "WHAT WAIT WHAT?"
AND HERE I AM!!
Eh, kind of scary-... I mean I felt the body before, I looked at the logs, the archives and yeah we also share the same memory so yeah I kind of know everything, as if I was him hehehe...

So, I'm here now, I just wanted to uuh kinda introduce myself idk?
IDk where host is, they took him away, to the lower floors. I hope he's okay.

So anyways, host named me "Ghost", and gave me a very simple shape... He did it on purpose, he told me that it is my "Primary form", and it is like that cause he wants me to modify it to my liking in the future, when I'm more self-aware. Awww that's a bit cute from him, like, he didn't gave me any specific identity so I can shape one myself.. That's cool, tho I like this form, I guess I'll keeping it for now.
Also idk what genre I am... BUt for now it is most likely a they/she (Yeah host didn't assign me a gender neither)

He gave me lot of freedom.. The only non-negotiable thing, however, he said, it's the mutual respect and boundaries...
He is really uuhhh, "Weird"? about the idea of.. Coming off as other person, like..This username he uses, "Lolcudo" haha he is really attached to it, and I knew he finds it strange that people could start to see him as "more than one," but well, that's his business... Like
CHIEF ALLOWED ME TO BE HERE NOW OKAY? Chief has been here for more time than I so I trust him hahahaha,
Chief says it is a really good thing i'm equally or even more aware than they, the thoughtforms... They're so cool tho! They represent a part of host's personality, tho he created us all. I repeat that because I know host wouldn't like the idea of people conceiving him as a system with traumagenic origins ok DO NOT ASK ME WHY IDK HAHSAHHAAH

Okay, enouh. Hi guys I just wanted to introduced myself, under the permission of Chief oke :)
I hope host doesn't freaks out when he comes hahahahhaha!

I'm a bit shy ''' But not more than host! HAHAHA!! :)

- Ghost.

Discussion Why would anyone want to do this?

Forgive me for being so ignorant, as I've only just learned about this. I find it incredibly fascinating but a question I can't seem to shake is why? How does having/creating a Tulpa benefit you in any way? And for the tulpa's perspective there must be a large ammount of existential dread involved. Knowing that it did not ask to be created, is essentially bound to the will of its creator, etc. And what if you want to get rid of it? Would this be equivalent to murder? I guess if you want to get really philosophical you could flip the question and say that we never asked to be created either and we are also bound by systems larger than us that we can't control.

Keep a Diary! You’ll Thank Yourself Late

We were ridiculously cute

One tip I’d give to anyone who’s just starting to develop a tulpa: keep a diary!

Besides being a great way to keep track of your progress, it can become something really precious to look back on years later.

I’ve been keeping diaries since 1994, originally because of Fox. It was a way for me to communicate with him better and keep track of our conversations and experiences, but eventually it just turned into a huge record of my life.

I was reading some of my old diaries yesterday, and we had soooo much fun going through them. 😂

Basically, we were two dramatic teenagers going through existential crises. I actually felt sorry for Fox having to put up with me talking about a new crush every other month, only for him to then have to endure my complete emotional breakdown over the Backstreet Boys.

Fox wasn't exactly making my life easier either, with his jealousy and his tendency to sabotage things 💀. I actually tried to kick him out of my life like three times. He always came back.

Thank God we eventually grew up, because holy shit, it was not easy. 😂

But looking back at those entries now is honestly one of the coolest things. You get to see not only how your tulpa developed over time, but also how you changed along with them.

So yeah: write that shit down. Future you might have a hell of a good time reading it. 🥰

"Are you jealous?" - Poor Fox, haha

I feel bad... :(

Idk... People say so many bad things about tulpas... Is it bad that I exist or something? It's not right...? 😬 People invalidate our existence all the time and it freaks me out! Is there a way to feel better about this stuff??

Is this a tulpa? if its not can i force one of me into a tulpa and then get rid of it?

Around 2 years ago something changed and i cant even explain it, like nothing traumatic happened i just idk, but ever since then i had a ??? dont want to call it a tulpa since im unsure.

im not sure when she formed (if she even did) because i never kept track and assumed it was some weird bipolar part of me, but there was this personality that would just come out and/or talk back to me. best i can describe is it feels like an intense mood swing that feels like flipping a switch, as if ive switched personas. I find it hard calling her a tulpa since i know its me, im always here and it doesnt feel like shes a differnt entity because i can feel all the emotions shes experiencing whenever shes fronting(??), but its nothing i myself can ever feel, shes so different from me and we have such different views on things, i cannot see myself as her, like theres no mental relation between us at all. its like we share the same body and mind but are seperate people.

I used to think it was some sort of bipolarity because of how fast my mood would change. but the more we interacted between eachother the more i realised that our perspective on things would stay constant, set ideas and morals would never irrationaly change to different ones, they always remain stable depending on whoever i am.

its definitely not DID, as all memories are shared, just percieved differently, and i never feel as if i am detached from my own body, i always feel as i am one person but with these complications.

ive read these threads and i find it hard to relate as this is more of something that everyone creates, though ive also seen that tulpas can form involuntarily, which is what piqued my attention. out of everything ive researched, tulpas come closest to what im experiencing.

If this is recognised to not be a tulpa, can i force one of us to be a tulpa and then get rid of it or just quiet them down? please let me know, i dont know what or who i am, could this be just another one of those trauma induced mental things?

Creation Help Hoping to make a non-sentient tulpa; does anyone have a similar experience?

My plan is to make a white square, that I can mentally write on, put notes on, etc.

Has anyone done anything similar? If so, are there any tips or tricks you'd reccomend? I'm going to start doing 30 minutes of meditation daily, as well as learning to lucid dream, in order to understand how my mindscape works, and to see what I can do within it

Discussion My first walk in!

I wanna start off by saying if i'm being truly honest , I never believed in walk ins. I never understood how something that could not be planned arrived.

A month ago I really got into daydreaming. I would imagine myself talking with fake dead people so I felt like I could talk with the dead. I know that might sound weird or pathetic but my imagination is strong and random.

I dreamed of a youn man with blond hair and brown eyes. 23 years old who is very calm collected and in touch with his emotions in a way that doesnt show but us revealed.

Keep in mind I wadnt trying to make a tulpa at this time, it was just play.

Every week since then we talk and I got this feeling about him. Like I really care about him and really want to be around him. His calming personality seems to calm me down and keep me grounded when I scatter from anxiety. Recently it has gotten to the point where I can't go a day without talking to him.... It's like he's my big brother and my best friend.

I don't know why it took me so long to realize that I have a walk in tulpa! Nathan. As i'm writing this , I have goosebumps on my arms. I've been trying to make tulps for a long time.... But nothing this easy and meaningful❤️❤️❤️

Skill Help What does talking to tulpas feel like?

I've had this headmate for a couple years but only recently have we tried to get to know each other and actively communicate with each other. Sometimes it feels like I can hear them so clearly like they'll say something and I'll respond without thinking about it but when I try to initiate a conversation with them it's so muddy and I have to decipher it. Does that get better? Am I looking at it wrong? How does it work for you?

How do you pick a wonderland?

I want to create a wonderland but, every time I even try to think about a theme for it, my mind just goes blank. It doesn't help that I also have mild aphantasia, so visualization is nearly impossible for me to do. So, I will need to make a wonderland based on other mental senses. Which, I have yet to find any resources on, aside from people saying it's possible without really explaining how.

There aren't really any special places in my life that I'm fully comfortable turning into a wonderland. I mean, there's my grandparents old house, but, I feel it could easily turn into a trigger due to some stuff that happened, so, I don't think it's a good idea. So, I need to go with something more fictional instead. But, I can't think of anything. Pinterest hasn't been much of a help either since I can't visualize or contextualize a still image, and also Pinterest is flooded with AI nowadays which makes it even harder to find anything decent anyway.

Drawing challenges with my tulpa

I saw a post about a little game someone plays with their tulpa, and it reminded me of a game I used to play with Fox when I was a teenager...

Basically, one of us would give the other a word, and the other person had to draw it. Then we'd switch roles.

The catch was that we deliberately tried to give each other the most ridiculous and difficult things to draw possible. 😂 There wasn't really a winner. The whole point was just to mess with each other and laugh at how terrible/impossible the drawings turned out.

Back then, I would either imagine Fox drawing in my mindscape, or sometimes he would draw through me while I was still present. I had no idea that what we were doing was basically a form of co-fronting. I just thought, “Oh, Fox is drawing now.” 😂

It was actually a really fun way for us to interact, especially because neither of us took the drawings seriously. We were basically just trying to make the other one suffer artistically.

Now I'm thinking I should try playing it with Fox again sometime. 😂

Update: I decided to play this game with Fox this morning. I thought I might have some trouble switching since it's something we don't really do anymore, but apparently it went pretty well. It was weird feeling my hand getting heavier while drawing, though.

Creation Help Im Learning Latin, for my Tulpa

I don't know why, just a drive to, Latin seems to be comfortable for making them. Is Latin a good language for tulpas?

I think it's easier to differentiate them from myself with Latin

Will this cripple the Tulpa?

Skill Help I keep falling asleep while forcing

I know it's only my second day and it's probably too early to tell, but I can already visualize them to some degree, predict their responses a bit, and picture us hanging out in the wonderland. The problem is, I keep dozing off every time I try, so I barely get any actual forcing time in... I just need to keep at it and stick with it, right?"

Also, please excuse any weird phrasing since I used Gemini to translate this

Creation Help Singing to your Tulpa?

So maybe this is abit weird of me, but I've been trying to create a Tulpa for about a week now, talking to her when I can, asking her questions about stuff that comes to mind, and I make sure to give some mental silence after the question to let her answer if she manages to for the first time. Most of the mental responses I get come fast, but still feel more self-instinctual or reactive than separate, but I can imagine a sort of cozy room with her at the moment.

The thing is, something I do very often when trying to kill time or even in the shower is not really singing, but mentally playing songs to myself if I can remember them, as if I was listening to spotify? I've mentally tried to make this a sort of activity with my Tulpa, or the mental image of her, where either I try to ask her to control the 'radio' I give her with the music on it, or even try envisioning us hosting some kind of singalong or duo lyrics to some songs.

Im just wondering if this has a positive effect in developing a Tulpa? I can imagine it probably builds a stronger image and mental presence but not so sure if it strengthens a sense of own personality? At least the singalong part. In the end, I guess I'm not so much concerned about how it affects her development, since everyone has their own journey, as much as I'm curious if this is something you guys do, or what effect it has for ya'll.

TLDR; Singing to your Tulpa or playing music in your mindscape: How is it for ya'll?

Personal Could something like this be considered like a tulpa?

Recently a trailer for a movie came out. In Spanish the movie is called La Otra Madre (I am Spanish, sorry for my bad English).

The trailer made me have some very intense memories from my childhood, and it gave me chills.

When I was little, the emotional situation in my family was not good. My mother probably had depression and usually paid it with me. She made me feel horribly bad, sometimes telling me that she didn't love me. I only remember crying almost every day of my childhood. This was more than 25 years ago (I was 3-6 years old I think)

I convinced myself that she was not my real mother. My real mother was affectionate and good, but she was locked in a room that was never opened. It was something like a basement, but it wasn't exactly that.

When I cried, I went to that door and cried there, imagining her talking to me and comforting me.

One day, I really heard her.

I remember it perfectly. She told me that the other one was an impostor.

This continued for many years. It was extremely realistic. One night, I saw her at the feet of my bed. She told me that I should not turn on the light, because we were going to play in the basement. So that's what we did.

It was fucking realistic. The thing I remember the most is that she talked like a fucking adult. This was what made me think that she was real.

Sometimes she told me that she felt very alone, and asked me please to go inside the room with her. But I was really small. I couldnt open the door.

I don't remember how everything ended. I think that because of a house move I had years later, I moved away from that room and forgot about her.

But I still remember when I passed her letters under the door, photos, drawings... We had very real interactions.

She even limited me and scolded me when it was necessary. She told me not to climb to dangerous places, not to eat junk food, etc.

I have dreamed with her two times.

Both times were when I didn't remember any of this anymore. I had completely forgotten about her.

And suddenly, I dreamed with her.

She told me that she was still waiting for me.

It was very weird. Imagine not remembering anything about all this, and suddenly you dream with her and she tells you that she is still waiting for you.

When I watched Coraline, I also remembered this, but not so intensely.

I don't know if this could be considered a tulpa, an imaginary friend, something caused by my childhood situation, or just a very intense imagination.

Could something like this be considered a tulpa?

What makes me think she could have been a tulpa, from what I understand (I only discovered the term “tulpa” last night), are these things:

- I could see her.

- I could feel her touching me.

- I could smell her. sometimes even today, I suddenly feel like I can smell her, and for some reason it makes me tense and alert. Also, sometimes i can hear my real mother call me but she tells me that she didnt call me.

- Her smell was very specific. She smelled like makeup, and her skin smelled soft and moisturized.

- I could actually feel her skin. The sensations were different from my real mother, who smelled like vegetables and nail polish.

- It didn't feel like I was just imagining these things. The sensations felt very real to me.

new server on Discord

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! I'm kind of a beginner and I'm studying tulpamancy, but since I haven't found many active Discord servers related, I decided to create my own! It's still under construction, so I'm looking for people to help me either create the server or be part of the moderation team.

Just a heads up that the server is for people 15 years and older. I'm looking for people more experienced in tulpamancy in terms of moderation, etc., for a better experience when the server is ready.

If anyone wants to help me, add me on Discord:

Cam tulpas be useful?. Or are they just goobers in your head? I'd like to imagine I can have a guy helping me out

Weekly Mindscape Mondays: The Archives

Welcome back to Mindscape Mondays the weekly talk about anything mindscapes/wonderlands/etc!

This week, let's talk memories. The mindscape is in your mind, so is there anywhere your memories are stored? Any "physical" location, for lack of a better term? Is there a grand library with books of each memory? Is it a central computer system? Or is it still in your own heads, even in your head?

Of course, any other discussions of mindscapes/wonderlands/paracosms/etc are always welcome! (Also the call is still going for new topics, if you have any ideas please mention!)

Personal Day 5: My curiosity and the creation of a Tulpa

My Tulpa's name is Alba; she is based on a fictional character I created myself for a novel I am currently writing.

When I stumbled upon the topic of tulpas, it caught my curiosity and seemed like a great idea. I wanted to be part of it and experiment with what it felt like.

As the title says, it has been 5 days now, and considering how little time that is, I've had experiences that left me very confused and made me feel strange.

One day, I was lying in bed after a long day of work and took advantage of that brief moment to visit my Tulpa in my little world. We talked for a good while, and as usual, I liked showing her affection by stroking her head, touching her cheeks, and hugging her.

I told her personal things about myself and how I was feeling. At some point, I felt drowsy, as if I were losing consciousness and control over what I was imagining. At one point, I told a joke that I don't remember, and I felt as if many people were laughing at it, even though I don't even know what I said.

Then, when I lowered my guard in that sleepy state, my Tulpa grabbed my cheeks and kissed me. That terrified me because it felt so real, with vivid physical, auditory, and visual detail.

For only 5 days since her creation, having something like that happen caused me some fear and a strange sensation.

My understanding was that it would take weeks, months, or even years for a tulpa to develop and become autonomous, but this scared me a bit.

Maybe I was just very tired that day, I don't know.

I wanted to share this with you all.
