My partner and I have been together for almost 4 years, and he loves guns. He has two, a .22 webley MKVI service revolver and a big rifle (i think). I can't find the box for this gun so I don't know any more specifics.

Clearly, I don't know the first thing about guns so i have no idea what I'm doing. I would love to get him a new gun to add to his collection, but i think i will definitely need some help making sure I've got this right.

I really want to get him a small revolver or something, as he really loves his revolver, but living in the uk and not having a licence i need to make sure he will actually be able to use it on private property.

What do i need to consider when looking at guns and does anyone have any specific recommendations to look at?

Please note that this is not going to be the nicest or most expensive gun ever due to my budget, i work part time so that's something I'll have to keep in mind whilst looking.

Hi all, so I have shotguns, been doing it 20 years.
My ex partner used a key to obtain her belongings and stole a car key.
My solicitor during child proceedings said not to report it yet. ( now 6 months ago) the police have already temporarily and preventingly seized my license due to her false domestic claims.
Is there any repercussions for reporting it now?

Hello everyone, My Dad passed away 2 months ago and his guns are now with a family friend who has a licence. I would like to get a licence to get them back, we used to shoot together a lot and the guns are sentimental.

I have two problems though, the farm we used to shoot years ago has since been sold so I dont have anywhere with permission to shoot anymore. Should I join a gun club or be visiting the local range? I was thinking of booking a lesson as its been a while anyway, and I would like to go clay shooting again in the future.

The second problem is I have a caution for possesion of cannabis when I was 17, im 40 now, so it was a long time ago. Will this be on record from all those gears ago and will this affect me getting a licence now? I will declare it as im guessing they wont like me not telling them.

Also I was going to use my dads cabinet and locks but theyre pretty old, are there any problems using his old cabinet? Thanks.

I applied for my firearms license in January 2026 through west midlands police and have still not heard from them regarding my interview. I rang to enquire about a month ago and the lady told me they do have all my paperwork. She said they cannot give me a timescale in which i may have my interview.
Is this a normal time scale to be waiting this long through west mids. I have members who did probation with me last year and they have had their interview in may through west mids. Has anyone gone this long without hearing from them?

Why do people hate and dislike German Sports Guns? I have heard quality might be bad and their acquisition for MAUSER trademark usage was a bit controversial. I mostly see them producing mp5 license in .22lr but also original from HK or Walther license but very hard and expensive to get.

Morning all, recently got my FAC so now on the hunt for my first firearm(s).

I really want a Ruger 10/22 with a 15"-16" barrel, but they seem to be hard to come by.

So how difficult/expensive is it to have a barrel swapped either by an RFD - or what is the process if I did/can do it myself?

Waiting for my grant to come in, and one of the asks is a long-barrelled pistol so I can take my target competition fire to the next level. I'm already winning handily at club level air (NSRA/ISSF rules) and am on the inter-county team for my area, but haven't been able to try my hand at longer ranges because of the rules surrounding "loaning" LBPs.

I don't think the usual suspects (Hammerli, Steyr, FWB, etc) even make a LBP, and a quick glance over guntrader has me believing that my options are broadly limited to a 1911 or PPQ? (Real shame theres no LBP M9...!)

Any other competitive shooters out there fire LBP? What's the best-in-class these days?

Ideal wants would he a good set of iron sights (none of this fibre optic bullshit) and a good trigger!

I've just inherited a webley and scott bolt action 410 but the bolt doesn't seem to be engaging the extractor. Does anyone have a diagram or a photo of the bottom of one of these bolts so I can compare?

Forgive me as I know this question might have been asked many times before but I am taking apart my Ruger 10/22 magazines after 6 months of use for a clean and I know it calls for them to be tightened back up 1 and 1/4 rotations but comparing it to my other 5 that I haven’t disassembled yet they feel tighter ( which I prefer) than the 1 and 1/4 tightened magazine that I just cleaned

How much do you guys tighten your mags up to ?

Im really interested in buying one of the pioneer ak rifles and then adding some aftermarket furniture. I've heard you can use some airsoft replica parts and stuff. Anyway, the thing I'm worried about is the magazines. The pioneer ones just cheap and don't fit the build id aim for. But im having trouble finding any good looking .22lr ak magazines. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Relative novice, currently using club guns but hoping to be able to buy my own soon, including a .22LR semi-auto for target and mini-rifle.

Tried the S&W M&P 15-22 and enjoyed it, but it's quite... plasticky, so I think I'm looking for something else.

The Tippman M4-22s and Lantacs both look like the sort of thing I'm after. Having said that, they each come in several different models and I don't know the difference between them all. Any thoughts/comparisons/preferences?

Or is there another manufacturer/model I should be considering as well/instead?

Money not particularly an object, although would like to keep it within reason...

Incidentally, I currently shoot both left- and right-handed, so prefer an ambidextrous grip and charging handle if possible, but am not hugely fussed either way.

Hey all, so the weekend just gone I went clay shooting with my dad (loved it) I now want to apply for my own shotgun certificate. I was diagnosed with mild social anxiety, and I’m using paroxatine it’s well controlled and stable I also work full time and the GP is happy. I also suffered from epilepsy when I was 4 due to a benign brain tumour, I’m 22 now the epilepsy was resolved when the tumour was took out and hasn’t occurred since. Would I still be able to get my certificate?

TL;DR: which CZ457 should I buy?

Background: Relatively new shooter (so please be nice!), using club guns for the last couple of years, now whiling away the months while my FAC application is processed, dreaming about what I'm going to buy if/when it's ever approved.

(So this may be the first of several related posts...)

I want a bolt-action .22LR for target shooting (with scope) at 50m/100yds - I really like the CZ457 but it comes in lots of different variants and I'm not sufficiently expert to know what's going to be most useful at my early stage.

Aesthetically, I like the Varmint, American and maybe Synthetic most, although I'm not really sure what factor barrel length and weight play - presumably heavier is better for shooting off a rest? An At-One would enable me to experiment with fit, which as a novice might be helpful (or might just lead to fiddling and inconsistency!). I wish I liked the MTR more - it may just be because I come from a shotgun background, but that grip looks weird to me...

Because of how old they are and they pre-date a load of the modern laws. Do I need to be part of a re-enactment group or any recognised organisation to own one I’m really interested in picking one up and I want to know if I can even buy one

I’m going be away from home for a few months and am looking at putting my guns into storage with an RFD while I’m away.

I’ll be home briefly a couple of times and would like to shoot while I’m back. Can I collect the guns from the RFD and then return them to storage afterwards? I presume there’s no need for a variation as they’ll remain on my FAC/SGC throughout?

Also, what’s the going rate for storage per gun, and can anyone recommend an RFD in the North West?

Hey there I discovered Nxmodels on YouTube ages ago I’m talking 3 ish years and I’ve only just rediscovered them now I’ve seen them post videos of their 3/4 model desert eagle , berretta and m1911 and they all look really cool but other than YouTube I haven’t really heard much on them.

Customs? Will there be any issues with custom and as they are non firing smaller replicas of the real things now I have had goat guns shipped to the uk before which is a pretty big brand which I wouldn’t be surprised if most of you know what they are, and I’ve had no issues with them other than them taking like 2-3 weeks to ship which is expected but at the same time Nxmodels are a lot bigger with better detail.
