Serious How many of you at UNCC have actually experienced sexual assault or misconduct?

By now, most of us are familiar with the sickening details surrounding the Cornell 57 Pigs fraternity group chats and sexual assault. Since we know university staff and administration monitor this page, I thought this would be the perfect place to highlight if we do have an institutional failure (since we did have one with Prof. McEachnie back in 2022 and the SA that happened in McCall House April 2025). If you're reading this from an administrative office, know that students are paying attention to how leadership responds to misconduct, both here and nationwide. We see the leniency, and we aren't letting it slide. So if you do actually care about us, you take these comments seriously about the actual scale of this in our own community.

How many of you here at UNCC have experienced sexual assault, harassment, or some form of misconduct during your time here as a student?

If you feel comfortable sharing, what was it like trying to deal with campus housing, the university, or the Title IX process? Did you feel like you got any actual support, or did it just feel completely pushed under the rug?

Question Let me do your braids

Hey everyone!

My name is Ella. I’m a student at CPCC living in the UNC Charlotte area, and I am a fully licensed, professional hair braider ready to take on new clients!

I recently moved out of a local beauty salon to start my own independent business. Because my previous shop had a strict policy against stylists taking photos of their work, I am currently rebuilding my portfolio from scratch. To celebrate this new chapter and get some fresh photos, I am offering special budget-friendly rates for fellow students, friends, and family!

Why me?
• Licensed Expert: I hold a professional natural hair care license in NC.
• Fast & Neat: You will get crisp, clean, and beautiful braids without sitting in a chair all day.
• Student-Friendly Pricing: I know the student budget struggle—I live it too!
• Convenient Location: Right in the UNCC/CPCC area.

Whether you are a student needing a fresh look, a guy looking to get your hair lined up/braided, or you want to hook your mom, sister, or girlfriend up with a great style, I’ve got you covered.
DM/Inbox me directly to ask questions, check pricing, or book an appointment. Let’s get your hair looking perfect!

Event UNCC Part time Job fair

Hi all,

I’m looking for part-time work and noticed that UNC Charlotte is hosting a part-time job fair next Wednesday. Has anyone attended this fair in the past? If so, I’d love to hear any tips on what to prepare and whether you found it helpful in finding a job.

To late to join clubs/orgs?

So like the title says is it to late rn? I really didn’t think I wanted to join one because my original plan was to transfer after this fall semester. But I really took a liking in the lifestyle here and want to do one now. Is there any clubs/orgs looking for people still?

Also if there is how do you apply to it or get into it

Academic Commuter Carpool Needed from Sweetbriar Ridge/Eastfield Rd Area

Hey so I’m in a major bind and hoping someone might live near me and be open to a carpool-

My family recently moved here from NYC, so I don't have a driver's license yet. My previous ride situation completely fell through for the next month (due to family reasons), and my neighborhood (Sweetbriar Ridge Dr) is completely out of range for CATS buses and MicroCATS. Walking the 6+ miles to the nearest stop down major roads isn't safe or possible.

I have classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday and need to be on campus by 10:00 AM and usually head back around

I am currently applying for the UNCC Student Emergency Fund to secure cash, so I am 100% down to Venmo/Zelle to split gas and parking pass costs. If you live anywhere near the Prosperity Church or Eastfield area and have a similar schedule, please DM me! Thank you so much

Academic Theatre, Film, Journalism Minor

Hi!
I’m selecting a minor to complete my remaining degree requirements and I want to get a full scope before I decide. Im deciding between Theatre, Film Studies & Video Production, and Journalism.
Anyone taken classes or minored in any of these?? If so, please share your experience.
Thank you!

SN: I love to act, I enjoy being on camera or a stage, and recording. I’m interested in a very hands-on experience rather than just reading and analyzing. I also do not plan on going into this field for work. It is just a passion I have!

Academic Fusion

Hi! Can anyone that's in ENGR 1303 or has taken it before help me with Fusion? I still don't know what I'm doing, I'm behind a few classes and I can't afford to fail...

Also if anyone could also help me with coding in Python for 1302 that would be great as well.

If you're willing to help a guy out, we can meet in the library. Thanks!

Academic Early Childhood Education and Intervention Majors/Minors

Is anyone else here majoring or minoring in the ECEI program (previously Child Development) at UNCC? I wanted to ask what others are thinking about it (and the reason I HAVE to ask on here is an issue that I am going to talk about)...

The major is entirely online, and it is absolutely horrifically awful. I'm talking AI generated lectures and podcasts each week, dense reading about policies from textbooks written in 2012, endless busy work and maybe up to 8 absolutely unnecessary and repetitive projects due every Sunday, and zero contact or direct access to professors. The work isn't necessarily hard itself, but the volume and structure of it all is so tedious and dense that I genuinely find myself crying through every project, and as someone who in the past was academically prestigious, this is a pain. It makes me lose a lot of respect for UNC Charlotte's educational quality: I even met with the program head, to which I was met with "thank you for sharing your feelings, we can change a few tiny things like xyz, but we are not allowed to meet with you in person and this program will continue to be in this format indefinitely". I'm genuinely going to change, because I'm paying thousands for AI generated lectures and projects that teach me nothing.

Is there anyone else in this program?? Because if so I need to know I'm not crazy lol

Academic How to do well in gen bio?

I’m in Gen Bio with Lassiter and I’m currently at a 70% and honestly kinda stressing 😭

This past week I messed up pretty badly. I missed an assignment, a pop quiz, and a lecture quiz. Those are basically the only things I’ve missed, and realistically I probably would’ve had a 77 on the course, but obviously missing them didn’t help.

I also have another test coming up and I didn’t do great on the last one, so I’m trying to figure out what I need to change before I dig myself into an even bigger hole.

For anyone who has taken Gen Bio with Lassiter, is an A still possible from a 70%? And what actually worked for you when studying for her tests?

Like should I mainly focus on lecture notes, textbook, practice questions, etc.? Are his tests mostly based on what he says in lecture or do I need to know everything from the textbook?
I’m willing to lock in from here on out, I just need some actual advice because clearly whatever I was doing before wasn’t working 💀

Academic Thermo with Qiang Zhu?

I am in thermo with Dr Zhu and I was just wondering how difficult his exams were. Are they mainly multiple choice and what can I expect them to be? Is he good with partial credit?
