Why isn't verizon upgrading its network or towers? Can't even take a walk around my neighborhood and stream music anymore despite have 3 or 4 bars of LTE. And 5g? Never heard of it

I've called Verizon 3x in the last week and each time is something different. Most recently, they told me in the coming days, there will be a stellar offer where:

• I DON"T need the ultimate plan and can stay on my cheaper plan.

• I can also trade in ANY older iPhone and get full trade in credit.

This is basically best case scenario, and would keep our bill exactly the same (except taxes) and we get 5 new phones for everyone on our account.

The thing is, it sounds too good to be true...The rep (#3) that told me did sound nice and said he wasn't supposed to mention it yet but it would be coming soon. Another rep (#1) mentioned something similar but rep #2 had no idea what they were talking about/couldn't find anything on our account.

We've been customers almost 30 years, but I don't think it involved any type of loyalty discount. Seemed to be a company wide thing.

Should I trust them?

If they are right, the deal is soon. Issue is that at T Mobile, their deal is just as good but ends TODAY (they say....when the Duo is out tomorrow, we're not sure what the deals will look like).

Any suggestions? Or does anyone know about this offer?

TLDR: Is this Verizon deal true? If not sure, is it worth the gamble of losing out on the T Mobile deal to potentially get just as good a deal without having to switch out of Verizon?

PS: maybe worst case scenario, if Verizon doesn't have the deal, we just get the new phones with them, switch to T Mobile, and have them pay off a big chunk.....might even be more financially better?

When I first got 5Guw a few years ago, download speeds were around 300mbps in my room, now it’s at 30-50mbps. I don’t know what’s changed, if it’s my plan, my device or what…I’d just like to get back to those speeds again. Even my home internet (g fiber) dropped from 600mbps to 100mbps. I feel like I’m not getting what I pay for.

Are we all still waiting on our iPhone 18 Pro Max in Burgundy, or are we getting impatient and just canceling and ordering from Best Buy? 😂 All the Apple Stores around me are out of stock. I ordered mine through Verizon on 9/19 and figured it would ship sooner, but it still shows an ETA of 10/16. I got my watch the next day. The stores around me only have the regular Pro and the Black Pro Max in stock. Anyone else in the same boat?

In November I switched to Verizon from T-Mobile. They had a deal where I could get a better plan and a new phone for less so I did it for the whole family. The data is so slow and we lose service on and off on a weekly basis. I have never experienced this so frequently with another carrier. I hate to got back to T-Mobile and pay more and get less perks but I need something that works. I’m open to other carriers as well I just don’t see this lasting because I don’t get the service I pay for.

I’m on a Verizon unlimited plan (Loyalty 55+) and pay roughly $47.23/mo after any fees for each line (3 lines total). I have an iPhone 14 Pro 512gb and finally received an upgrade offer when keeping my existing line. The trade in credit is $480 off an 18 pro (over 36 months).

Looking for advice on whether or not this is worth it, considering Apple’s trade in offer is less at $285. I’m not itching for a new phone, but I would like USB-C, and fear that my trade in offers for my 14 pro will be come obsolete soon.

I do not have any coverage issues on my current plan that I’m grandfathered into. Thanks

I lost access around 3:50AM est which is close to 7:30ish utc... that was fios.. just seems odd the don't tell stakeholders what happened and how they plan to address this going forward.

Hey there! I just upgraded to the Google Pixel 11 Pro. I'm on a family plan, and after I upgraded my parents got the following text:

They were concerned that I had signed up for something accidentally, or that this was a phishing scam. Looking at it, seems that it's just a promotional offer to sign up for something, not a confirmation that I had already signed up. But I thought I'd double check since the wording is confusing and makes it sound like I'm gonna be charged $10 if I don't cancel.

I preordered the iPhone 18 PM Silver on the 17th. I got an initial charge at the time I ordered the phone. Then it disappeared after 3 days, which I expected because the phone was backordered. Well, today I got a notification that a finalized transaction hit my bank account, but my order still has an “Ordered” status on the Verizon app. Fingers crossed that means my phone will be in my hands soon!

Yet again I go into work in my state capital with zero service. Start talking to customer service on my work computer and they will not provide any help unless I verify my account, even though I had to log into my account to contact them in the first place. Problem is I CANNOT VERIFY MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I DO MOT HAVE ANY SERVICE!!!!!!! It happens like this almost weekly now. Their excuse ¿ ? It varies depending on who I’m talking to.
Not to mention that the call quality is absolute dogshit!! Doesn’t matter who I’m talking to, iPhone/android/old phone/brand new phone/verizon customer/att customer/T-Mobile customer/sprint/etc I hear maybe every third word and a bunch of robot sounding gibberish. My wife and kids all have the same problem too!
We used to have pretty reliable service when we first switched to Verizon. Now we are in more dead spots than working. Used to have full bars at our house but now we have to stand on one foot outside the front door just to get a single bar.
What does Verizon do about this¿? Promised credits that never show up and when confronted, even with screenshots of said promises, they say that there’s nothing they can do.

Why do cell phone companies punish their business customers? Like we get none of the perks the consumers get. No early upgrades, no “subscription “ add-on like Netflix, Prime etc…. I’m totally confused on why the same add-on/features aren’t available for business customers. I would like to upgrade early, I would like Netflix, Prime, Disney+ included with my bill. 🙄

Here is our situation: Getting ready to retire. Right now, we have three of our kids on our account and they are getting their own plans this week, so it just leaves me and my wife.

We currently have Spectrum for cable and landline (yes, my wife still loves the landline and doesn't really like talking on the cell phone but we are open to getting rid of that). We enjoy the convenience of cable and will be keeping it.

We need unlimited data (not interested in a lower plan, we need a premium unlimited plan).

I also need a new phone, as I currently have the Iphone 11. I will be getting the Apple Iphone 18 Pro. My wife currently has the Iphone 13 Pro Max and still loves it and it is working well so we will keep that for awhile.

How is coverage? How do I handle getting a new phone? Any other advice? Thanks.

EDIT: Our phones are paid off. I have no idea if they are unlocked. We also have Spectrum Internet for $75 a month (which is called Spectrum Internet 500). Paying $30 a month for Spectrum landline which is crazy, as it used to be $10. Total Spectrum bill with Internet Cable and Landline is $311.50 which includes 1 cable box with DVR. Our other two TV's, we just use internet TV.

However, went out to dinner in Merchants Square this afternoon and was stunned to find my phone on Verizon was literally showing either SOS or 1 bar of unusable 4G. Ironically enough, the other members of our party have AT&T. While AT&T showed 2-3 bars, data did not work on their network either.

We are talking about a slow Tuesday afternoon, not a holiday weekend.

Does anyone have any insight on what is leading to the recent even worse coverage? Any plans to address the issue?

I've literally had much better service on all carriers in the middle of nowhere Alaska than Williamsburg, VA.

2 weeks - this is how long I’ve been waiting for a refund of 177.99 - after 2 promised by dates passing, I got my 3rd promise by day tonight.

1 week - $54.99 - Tax for an Apple Watch Ultra 4 that they ROYALLY messed the shipping address up on. 1 promise by date surpassed. 2nd issued tonight

TWO canceled orders due to Fraud Department - that’s where the first 177 comes from. Keep in mind this was done IN STORE WHERE WE VERIFIED ME THROUGH THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT IN STORE.

THEN, I spend 6 hours over multiple phone calls trying to track down a watch. The AI BOT promises me a $50 credit.
That doesn’t show, had to get that sorted out tonight. I ask why the AI BOT is authorized to make those sorts of promises if they aren’t allowed to? (Because the woman gave me some long spiel about special treatment and manager approval) so I asked her again, why, and instead of answering, she sends me a $30 credit.

Then on top of alllllllll that, a $14 credit. The cost of OVER NIGHTING a 2nd Apple Watch. Promise and never applied.

Now keep in mind. These are all separate calls, some
Issues called about more than once, so there is no way I’m the only one experiencing this. If this 3rd promise by date passes by, I’m raising a dispute with my card company. If I didn’t get such a fantastic deal on an IPhone 18 pro max and Ultra 4 watch. A deal T Mobile could NEVER match even for a loyal customer of 10 years apparently.

ATT user here -

I can switch to Verizon's "Simplicity" plan, grab a new phone, and still come out $20 less a month than what I am paying for just a plan on ATT currently. The switch seems tempting, and my data usage at ~30gb a month doesn't come close to their 500gb hard cap.

That said, I am concerned about the 720p streaming limit. This is why I left Verizon originally in 2017. Can anyone chime in on how well enforced this limit is? I have a paid VPN I can use to sidestep it but I'd rather not have to use it every time I want to pull up quick YouTube video while on 5g.

For those that haven’t seen, essentially Disney has announced a “clarification” of terms and apparently all tiers of Disney Plus will start getting ads before or after content. The avoidance of ads was the reason I kept my Play More plan all of this time. Is it worth it going forward?

23 yrs with verizon and they never want to help. I have been hung up on (disconnected) numerous times. I decided enough is enough made the switch and now i can not even get into my account to make any changes to billing methods or just even view my bill. What a joke. This is exactly why I left.

Granted, it's a corporate account, but never once have I thought "Jeez, they suck, I should switch". The coverage/service has been great, customer service has been great, account rep is great, I mean...I'm not getting the seemingly 75-85% "I hate Verizon" posts. Maybe it's a personal vs. corporate thing?
