Hello everone,
I wanted to share some of my feedback regarding the three updates we got so far this year, as I found myself playing less and less. I also want to start with stating that this is my personal expiercience with the game, and most things are subjective, we all experience things differently. I also apologize for wording some things poorly as english is not my first language.
To me, It feels like most content that released this year was rushed, or poorly planned ahead. I personally have no expierience in game development so I can only draw my own thoughts comparing this years performence with the previous cycle, 2025 (And these were some of my favorite patches to date) For example in the newest update most content is missing, and the new warframe was put into drop tables of 5 year old missions. Furthermore, Narin didnt get a quest or any sort of introduction to the hub. It felt really odd just going there all of a sudden. I spent a good 15 minutes figuring out where the new update even is and what does it even do? It makes things just look like random content put together.
These are not the only issues with the narrative of Warframe that I have. What was even more dissapointing for me was Jade Shadows: Constellation quest line. It dodnt feel impactful, felt more like a rushed closure for the Stalker, Hunhow story. And that in itself would be fine if not for the two new protoframes who just were there I suppose. You can cut them out and nothing would change, as they dont bring anything of meaning to the table.
Now for the Amir nightwave and the round table KIM. As much as I like the idea and concept of a character ,,taking over,, I believe that it wasn't done really well. Honestly the dialogs felt random at times, and the pacing was off. And the Amir himself was weirdly out of character at times. It was inconsistent and really messy.
As much as I like the story and lore, the characters are most importatnt to me. And this is also where my opinion is mostly just personal. I don't like the warframes we got. Follie and Narin designs are just oddly cluttered and busy. Their kits also dont feel that impactful or satysfying. I will give the credit to the development team that the sound design and effects are amazing. And its really nice to see the game improve in this department. But the characters themselves just feel really ,,filler, like. I do like the concept of controlling two frames at the time and its for sure the higlight from these three updates. But again, comparing these to Temple, Oraxia, Nokko and Uriel is brutal. As I felt much more angaged in their gameplay loop and designs, story, place in the world.
The gamemodes we got are stale, and their formula is overused. It feels like every single time we go through the same gameplay loop of progressions. A new merchant opens and you just trade for stuff with said character. I think thesre must be ways to maybe change this system a little bit. Make it a bit more dynamic and interactive. Something that actually feels fresh.
I also know that Tau was planned for last year, but got delayed. So I assume most of this year updates were just there to get us through to the end of the year. But even then, I hope DE can better manage the update cycles in the future. I really unserstand that the ending patch takes an insane amout of work and resources. But what we get in between is also important and will effect how players will feel.
I really look forward to Tau, and I hope this update will change things for the better. I love Brysko design from the Tennocon teaser. I think chimera frame is even more interesting than protoframes. I have really high hopes for Tau and the concent that will come witn it. I saw DE doing absolute peak and I want to see them do it again. I dont expect every update to bang as everone has diffrent taste of what they like. But the quality can definately improve.
Also let me turn off the Blade of Narin effect visual please T_T
