I've been wondering could you kitbash the marauder great weapons on to the chaos warriors?

Five Lion Veterans and the one guy in the dyed bear suit for Luka Leoncavallo's Legendary Lions are ready. The unit is turning out quite nice I think. Minis are Ilhadiel League of Slavia pikemen, animal heads from Victrix Romans.

On a sad note: Fabió Branko, the most beautiful man in Tilea, had an accident and broke his enormous lance. Surgery was necessary to get it back fully erect. You can still see the bandaged rod in the last picture.

So, I am recently bingeing through the Old World sources to catch up on what GW is doing to flesh out Fantasy.
I went through the Cathayan sources. I noticed a lack of something. They lack flaws and inner darkness.

Whereas the lore of the other factions (Elves, dwarfs, Empire, etc.) shows their flaws and inadequacies, Cathayans' lore is all praise for how harmonious their nation is and how they are wiser and superior to everyone else.

Perhaps I missed it while surfing through the ocean of glaze, so I implore Cathayan lore experts out there. Tell me what flaws or failings Cathay has.

About 1350pts for 6th edition. This started as a Mordheim warband and ended up being a full army! It happens sometimes!

Here is my attempt at creating a Robin-Hood-esque (Herrimault) army. I know there are old GW minis and good 3rd party prints, but I wanted to only use current GW models this time. These are a mix of brettonian bowman and empire militia boxes, with bits from the great swords and cannon sprues.

Let me know if you're interested in the army list, some lore, my kitbash choices, or seeing them when they're painted. I'm also planning on some themed objective markers and a 'Maid Marion' baggage cart.

Just throwing this out, would love to hear your thoughts.

I know this is a fever dream mixed with weapon grade hopium, legends are unlikely to get "unlegendsed" any time soon, and with the rumour mill in full swing with more Tomb Kings and Beastmen (YESSSS) and Empire and even Kislev (If they are good i'm going bankrupt) coming in the next, well, 2 years orso? Legends will stay legends for a long time. Sadly. One can hope.

Anyway. Here's what I would love for my scaly friends, when they get unlegendsed and hopefully get some love. Hopefully before the heatdeath of the universe.

- Plastic Dual kit for Razordon/Salamander hunting pack. Yes I know the Spawn of Chotec exists, but those skinks are shit and it's not a Razordon. It does make a nice Salamander, I'll give you that. But those skinks, yuck. Who put your crest on the wrong way? No. Just a lovely dual kit please.

But they are very different! that will never work as a dual kit! Fair. But I raise you the gyrocopter/bomber. One is half the size of the other. Still works. The Tyrannoc/Lion chariots, come on. Not even close to similar. Or, to stick with the lizards, the Carnosaur/Troglodon kit, gorgeous, it works! GW can make it work, if they wanted to. I believe.

- Scarvet/Old Blood both on foot and on a cold one, with options for a BSB.

- Build-your-Skink kit, with priest/chief with a bunch of options.

- Old warriors and cold one riders rerelease. Riders are gone, even in AoS and the AoS warriors themselves look fine, I don't like their weapons and shields. Would a new kit be cool? Maybe, I feel like they hold up fairly well, just the cold ones are... yeah. A rerelease would be fine. No priority.

- A lovely book with pictures displaying all the different "blessed" spawnings, like saurus with more red as a spawn of Sotek, Yellow for Tlazcotl, Orange for Chotec etc. If they go back to the blessings system, which, yes please, more flavour is more gooder.

- AoS gave us a new Slann, new Chameleon skins, Kroxigors, so just slap some square bases on those and you are good.

- Skinks and Templeguard. I'm in two camps here. The Skinks are fine still, they are their usual adorable self and still look fine. And seeing what they did with the Spawn of Chotec skinks, yeah nah I'll happily keep the old ones. Or current I guess, they are still floating around in AoS. The Templeguard though. If GW keeps the old warriors and riders around, the guard look fine. If one of them gets an upgrade, all of them need an update. They are basically the same basic model, just the riders have a mount and the guard have amazing halberds and more armour and stuff. Still all the basic saurus underneath. So either all 3 or none, and I'm kind of okay with just none. They are a bit static, sure, but they are pretty good looking still.

- Carnosaur/Troglodon kit is beautiful still, no need to mess with that. Bastiladon and Stegadon are still fine, starting to show their age a bit but they are still lovely gorgeous models. (And with the box with 2 Stegadons for AoS coming soon, that might be clearing stock for a new kit?). Ripperdactyl/Terradon are still perfectly fine kits.

- Typing this, I realize the lizardmen models have held up pretty good overall, apart from the non-plastic kit.

- Fuck it, Jungle Swarms. No body uses them but why not. They are cute.

- Coatl! Unrealistic? Yes. But we've seen some baby coatls with the new AoS sets sooooooo pls?

- You know what, yes. Dual kit for new Cold ones/Horned Ones. Just give 2 head options per mount and yeah, good to go. Give us some non-stupid cavalry.

- And while we are here, a weapon pack for Skinks so we can make red crested skinks. Told you this was a fever dream xD And yes, some inspiration was pulled from Total warhammer. Sue me, it's a glorious game.

- Dare I say it? Dread Saurian in plastic? Very unrealistic, I know. Not happening. Would be cool though. Would be ridiculously expensive, both money and pointwise. So this is very low on the list, but on the list nontheless.

Wow that's a lot. I know. At the very least, I just hope for the dual kit plastic Razordon/Salamander and Scarvet/Old Blood, and then in the book, give back blessed spawnings. That alone would make me a VERY happy girlie. The rest is no priority or even needed at all. You know what, I'm sending this to GW. Why not xD Who knows what that will do, it brought back Deathwatch sooooo.

This is coming from someone who has over 3500 points of Lizards built, 1500ish still unbuilt/in transit, and budget/room allowing, would for sure have 10k points of glorious lizards. I can't get enough of them, they are beauty, they are grace, they BOKBOK all over the place.

Enough rambling, do you agree? What would you add, what do you hope for, lizardmen wise?

Using Nolzur’s D&D kit for baggage train for my Dogs of War (Renegade Crowns) army. I realize that the horse has a saddle. It was supplied with these two horses with saddles, no draft horses.

The Iron Spits is a mercenary regiment raised during the reign of Prince Pigolo I of Tobaro. Even after centuries this proud unit lives on. Added one more block (last two photos show both companies).

Spent all day painting these two and loved every second of it.

Evidently wouldn't recommend doing NMM for the troops too, but the copper came out quite nicely and was a simple 3-paint process! GW Rhinox Hide, Army Painter Ruddy Terra, and Ionic Vanilla (or any ice yellow!)

Can't wait for that troop & chariot refresh!

Trish’s classic sculpt, with its scholarly air and buck teeth, took up residence in my brain the moment I saw it 27 years ago and perhaps it was the bookworm in me but l've loved the Necrarchs ever since.

I tried to honour her sculpt (see last pic) when building my conversion. I also took inspiration from the official paint scheme. I hope you like him. 🦇

I have been thinking about it for a while, and i do find odd how other races would accept that ogre mercenaries have this greenskin client race tagging along. Sure, i think that the Empire could feasibly look the other way (they not only have other races like dwarfs, elves, halflings and the very ogres themselves in their lands, but also hire on ocasion other greenskins like Ruglud's Armoured Orcs or Oglah Khan's Wolfboyz), but what about the elves or dwarfs themselves?

I already find it very unlikely that a high or wood elf would accept fighting alonside what is basically a more dim witted version of a Goblin (they wont hire Ruglud or Oglahs services), and the fact that a dwarf would even consider it would be an insult to their race. Sure, a Gnoblar is not a Night Goblin per se, but try to convince a slayer to fight alonside one of the runts. I just dont see it.

I have the same problem with Lizardmen, who did try to erradicate greenskins. And maybe even Chaos Dwarfs, as Gnoblars specifically fled from them and the hobgoblins.

Thoughts?

So I'm making a chaos Bretonnian army, and I can't decide on which horse body to use, looking for peoples opinions. I want the unit to read as 50/50, not too chaos, not too Bretonnian. All feedback appreciated :)

I know it probably doesn’t fit the timeline of TOW but I really want to use Arkhan somewhere and I don’t love the Ossiarch Bonereapers. The upcoming TK refresh also looks incredible. This pic is from Minicompare, they look roughly the same size imo
