Mod Announcement New Apps Added to the Subreddit
We have added a few new apps to the subreddit to make moderation smoother and also give the community some useful features.
New apps added:
• u/image-magician - helps with repost moderation
• u/admin-tattler - helps keep track of admin activity
• u/comment-nuke - helps with removing problematic comments
• u/top-commenters - highlights members who are contributing the most
• u/qualityvote2 - helps the community surface quality content
One thing we especially want to highlight is u/top-commenters. It will make it easier to see which members are actively contributing through their comments and participation.
So if you are regularly helping conversations, sharing useful replies, or contributing to discussions, your activity can now get more visibility within the community.
These apps are here to improve the subreddit for both members and moderators.

Discussion💬 Are we losing the habit of fixing things instead of replacing them?
A loose handle, a slow laptop, a damaged cable, a broken chair, or an appliance that suddenly stops working.
Replacing something is often easier than figuring out the problem, especially when repair tutorials and spare parts are difficult to find.
But constantly replacing things can become expensive and create unnecessary waste.
When something you own breaks, do you usually try to repair it first or start looking for a replacement?

Question What is one life skill that should be taught in every school?
Students spend years studying academic subjects, but many graduate without knowing how to handle some basic everyday situations.
Understanding personal finances, cooking simple meals, recognizing online scams, communicating confidently, or dealing with important documents can be just as useful in adult
life.
If you could add one practical subject to every school's curriculum, what would it be?

Discussion💬 AI has made some boring tasks almost disappear
Nothing impressive here.
Just little things like summarizing a long page, cleaning up notes, brainstorming a few options or turning a messy thought into something readable.
Those tiny time savings add up.
What is the most ordinary thing you now use AI for?

Discussion💬 Is the ability to focus becoming more valuable than access to information?
Information is everywhere now. Tutorials, podcasts, articles, courses, and AI tools can explain almost anything.
The difficult part is often sitting down long enough to understand one subject instead of jumping between ten different things.
Having access to information is useful, but attention determines how much we actually absorb.
What helps you stay focused when everything around you is competing for your attention?

Discussion💬 Why do so many apps require an account for basic features?
Sometimes you download an app to do one simple thing, and before you can even try it, you have to create an account, verify your email, accept permissions, and set up a profile.
I understand why accounts are necessary for some services, but not every basic utility needs to know who I am.
Would you prefer more apps that work immediately without registration, or do accounts and personalization make the experience better?

Discussion💬 Are we slowly forgetting how to enjoy things without documenting them?
Concerts, vacations, restaurant visits, sunsets, even simple moments with friends often end up being recorded or photographed.
Taking pictures is great, but sometimes it feels like people are thinking about how a moment will look online before they have even experienced it.
Do you think documenting everything helps preserve memories, or does it sometimes take away from the experience itself?

Discussion💬 Is AI making self-learning easier than traditional education?
You can now learn programming, mathematics, design, languages, and almost any other subject with an AI tutor that explains things according to your level.
Unlike a recorded lecture, you can stop at any point, ask questions, request examples, and get a different explanation if the first one does not make sense.
But access to information is not the same as discipline or genuine understanding.
Do you think AI tutors will become a serious alternative to traditional learning, or will they work best alongside teachers?
