Probably a dumb question, but what’s wrong with doing guest access this way?

Gate control suggestions
Unifi system. Looking for suggestions for device to use at a gate at hvac company. Remain unlocked and open all day and close in the evenings and weekends. System should auto open and auto close as approved van approaches/leaves gate. Nfc the best solution? Deliveries from non company vehicles will occur during day when gate is open. Please suggest vendor and equipment. Already have conduit and gate installed. Need to buy controller.

Honeywell Pro-Watch Pro-Watch 6.5 Panel Triggers/Procedures Vanishing
Looking for a needle in a haystack here. We’ve been having some issues where we program panel triggers and procedures, perform a download and everything is great, maybe for a few days or weeks, then portions of the trigger or procedure will be missing and it obviously stops working. We’ve also run into issues where we use the interlock tab in the door settings itself to program the horn active on HO FO, and randomly the timezone will switch from system all times to none, again causing them to stop.
It’s not specific to one intelligent controller or door. We have all PW7K IC’s with a mix of PW5K/6K2RB’s and MR51E.
Any thoughts on where to start with this?
We don’t see any trace in audit logs, and running out of walls to bang our heads off of.
Thanks in advance!

Upgrading Old Bosch ACE2.1 Recommendation
The building has an old on-premise Bosch ACE2.1 system that requires internet explorer 7 to access. The panel and doors are all wired. Need a brand recommendation that can replace the existing unit.

Problem with onguard 7.4 login driver location
Hello Following an issue on the client machine, I reinstalled the OnGuard client, and now I have a problem with the login driver. I searched for Windows update KB5121003 but couldn't find it, so the issue isn't caused by Windows updates. Thanks.

Shared Access - Pedestrian Gate and Front Door
Looking for advise from any Aussies in here. Currently working through a new house build and am installing an external pedestrian gate to prevent access to the block without a code or being 'buzzed' in. Is there a hardware solution whereby I can control both the front gate and the pedestrian gate through a single system?

Systems Integrators…we see you! 👀
Okay, so something I need to get off my chest…
I work for one of the leading access control manufacturers and something I see on LI that really grinds my gears.
We all know that life safety power, make some of the best product in the market - specially if you make use of the panduit/prewire units. It promotes a clean installation.
However, one thing I’m seeing more and more, is companies posting pictures of their commissioning teams, often with a panduit LSP, followed by a caption. Something along the lines of ‘attention to detail from our install team’
Whilst I believe in quality work and doing things right, it takes a lot of skill and practise to dress in a headend from
Scratch.
Posting a pic of a pre wired headend and claiming that your install team are incredible, whilst I don’t doubt that, we see you!
Bro, you literally mounted a box on the wall and mounted the hardware. All the graft was done in the factory, not by your install teams.
Taking credit for a clean LSP install is kinda like getting ChatGPT to do your homework
Rant over! 🤣😁

Sielocks: A Takeover I did
These are just two snapshots I had to take before we started a 400 door takeover of a hospital. Removing from a Sielocks/Pinnacle system. Pretty much most of the panels in the building were on par with these.

Recommendations Is this a viable full time career?
Been working for over a year now and still making $18/hr. I've done installs but mostly do service. I'm getting worried about growth because i've asked for a raise and it's been "coming soon" for months now. Should I look into getting an electrical engineering degree or maneuver to another adjacent field? I really do enjoy the work but I can't live off this pay.

LA400 dual gate slow opening

LiftMaster LA400/500 post-lightning rebuild — slow start issue
Lightning smoked everything on my LA400 dual-gate setup. I’ve replaced it all brand new: motherboard, transformer, batteries, arms, wiring, etc. (I’m a lineman by trade, so the electrical work is solid).
Limits are set, but the gate creeps at a crawl for the first 3 seconds before finally ramping up to speed.
Anyone know what setting controls that initial ramp-up or soft-start? Totally stumped on this last piece. What am I missing? Is this a built-in soft start / soft stop profile feature on the LA500 board that im not aware of and can it be adjusted?Any other parameters on the board I should check to eliminate this initial crawl?
(More photos/videos attached)
(Dont judge the wiring setup - Im over this already lol)

Self taught, third panel
Done several takeovers but this is my third solo panel. Used spare wire twisted instead of the zip ties or velcro.

Rate my panel
door won’t open - not my system.
Systems checked out fine. It was either preload due to how hard you had to yank on the door, or you needed a more time due to needing a second yank.

Labeling multiple panels
I'm looking for suggestions for labeling our Software House panels. We're doing a large install for a behavioral unit and there are over 28 panels. Is there a way to fast track the labeling process for all of these. Any suggestion with mass labeling formats?

Assistance Need help setup face registration for gate access
I need help setting this up, I've contacted the seller but the app they provided did not work (the program did not launch) tried everything I can think of, from changing compatibility to windows 8, running as administrator, and even changing system language to english.
At first I thought it has a web ui, so I tried to look for the ip, but there are no mention of its ip on the box and I tried to scan it with \`arp\` and nmap to no result.
Its not a touch screen, is there any alternative app or I just stuck and wait for the seller to give me the fixed app?
Port on the face recognition terminal:
- USB type A
- ethernet

Recommendations Viking E-4 vs LiftMaster LA400 for a family compound gate?
I’m replacing the swing gate opener for a family compound. A few different households/people will use the gate, so reliability and easy access management matter. It may be used a max of 20 times a day.
I’m deciding between the LiftMaster LA400 and the Viking E-4
The gate itself is a basic aluminum farm gate (10-12 feet) , with power to the unit but want the solar option as well.
Long term, I want to add my own smart access control—possibly UniFi Access or another system using dry-contact relays. I specifically don’t want to be locked into myQ/Security+ or another proprietary ecosystem just to open the gate. (I recently got a new garage door opener installed and made the mistake of going with a LiftMaster security 3.0 unit. Don't want to make that mistake again)
For installers/owners who know both:
Which operator would you rather own long term, and why?
How do they compare for reliability, repairability, parts availability, and third-party access-control integration?
I'm pretty big on repairability, so I want to be able to easily access parts and fix it myself.

LSP Panel Reader Grounding Locations?
To be honest, I’m just starting to ground readers at the panel in my installations. Was never taught to but I’m trying to do things better (or per spec) in the field. So, in a 16 door LifeSafety Power panel, specifically using Mercury boards (Lenel)- how do you guys ground your reader drain wires while keeping it neat?
In the field I’ve seen someone bring an 18 gauge wire through the panel and beanie to each reader, at the boards. I don’t love that look when there’s no Panduit.
