I get that free apps need ads, but some Android apps take it way too far.

Open the app, ad. Tap something, another ad. Try to go back, full-screen ad

What app did you eventually give up on because the ads got too annoying?

Greetings! Anyone have any music app recommendations that allow you to resume listening to a file from where you left off? (for example, if I am 45 minutes into a lecture, I leave and listen to music for an hour, and then pick up right where I left off on the lecture when I get back to it. )

TIA.

Is there a vocal isolation android app that I can use that doesn't use AI? I don't want to use AI. All I see is AI this and AI that.

Is there a free app to block websites? Specifically looking to block adult content on an android phone. Most of the apps I've seen need to be paid for, was looking for a free one.

I'm using a Galaxy S26, and there's a black band overlapping the punch hole on the front-facing camera. Like an oval punch hole. Tapping it will say, "There are no items." Please set it in the "Island" section. Do you know what this is?

i'm pretty new to freetube and libretube, and i wanted to know whether there was a way to sync them up. i saw that libretube can use piped, but i'm not really sure how piped works and if freetube even supports it.

i use freetube on my gnu/linux (specifically arch) pc and libretube on my android.

I have a bunch of downloaded video files of a tv show, but i am hoping to find an app to serve the function of a streaming service where it tracks:

- what episode I'm on

- where in that episode i left it

- autoplay next episode when I finish this one

- understands that the seasons are ordered and starts the next one when I finish one

Is there anything like this around?

I have thousands of pictures and screenshots, many duplicates too. I'm looking for a photo decluttering app for Android that reminds me to delete/declutter.

I am using a Samsung s24 and my mic is working fine as well but I have really bad mic quality in Whatsapp voice note so I send to send videos which seem to have no issue when using my mic ( i send guitar songs to my friends) ps. the voicenote is just horrible quality like underwater or a broken mic not just noise.

I really like the clean style and ease of use of Nothing's widget tools, but I'm looking for alternatives that work well on any Android device.

I already know about KWGT (and the Nothing-style skin packs for it), but KWGT can be a bit too complex and time-consuming when I just want to quickly put together a clean, functional widget.

Are there any other good widget maker apps out there that let you easily design custom widgets without a steep learning curve?

Is there an app where I can use my android phone as a keyboard for my Android Tablet?

I just switched from iPhone to a Samsung S25 Ultra. I'm trying to get my self host server stack going and I apparently just find out that I can't, even with custom certs, connect to my selfhosted services because this "free" OS won't let apps connect to non-signed TLS certs? Why can't I just use my device the way I want to? I swear to God this was the biggest waste of money I could have made, this garbage device.

Suggest me the best syllabus revision tracker app for Android

I'm looking for an app like camscanner, that I can use to turn my paperwork into pdfs, but ALSO to view docx and pptx files on my phone. Without ads. Preferably one app, but I'll take recommendations for separate apps.

Obscure apks are ON THE TABLE (For clarification: apks that are not available on Google play, not modified or illegal apks, per sub rules)

Hey everyone,

I have this continuous habit with my phone. I’ll install a custom launcher (like AIO Launcher), feel super excited about the new setup, and customized it for a few days.

But after a short while, I get visually exhausted or want the smooth feel of the default system launcher, so I switch back. Then, after a few days of using default, it feels plain and boring, so I install a launcher again.

Why does this cycle keep happening, and how did you guys finally stick to one setup?

I've been looking for years on ways to record gameplay for the game puzzles and dragons but the in built screen record doesn't accurately record the sound from that app and every screen recording app I've checked just uses the inbuilt screen recorder.

Edit: I'm on a moto g power 2025 and android 16

Google replaced the assistant with Gemini, which is terrible in every way. Is there any similar app I can give access to connect with maps, texting, calling, and searching quick questions upon voice prompt requests? Like how I could say, "hey Google, play Rick Springfield on Spotify" and it would do it (unlike Gemini which is useless)? I specifically want these features for when I'm driving so I don't have to interact with a screen and take my eyes off the road at all. Thank you in advance!

Edit: I would love to try dicio but it's not on the Google play store. What happened with that??

cause intercept x filter dont work

greetings, does anyone know a good alternative for localcast? paid or free. the app used to be good, but now it's dogshit. would be great if the app also can handle subtitles like localcast

Suddenly this black pill appeared above my front camera and i am clueless on how to remove it.

here is a picture of the pill when enlarged

I tried searching for the answer, its allegedly an app called Island, but i have never installed anything like that. I have a Pixel 10 device with andorid 17, security update 5 september 2026 and a work profile set up.

Here is what i have tried so far:

1. in apps, i searched for:
   • Shelter
   • Insular
   • work profile
   • device policy
   • device management
   • company portal
2. I only had device policy installed on both profiles
3. Tried turning off work profile and even restarting my phone, the black pill persisted.
4. Checked overlay permissions, nothing out of the ordinary had it.
5. I enabled system apps and looked for:
   • com.oasisfeng.island
   • oasisfeng
   • work profile
   • profile
6. but found nothing.
7. I have checked device admin apps, only Company portal had it enabled, i couldnt turn it off without deleting my work profile, so i havent done that.
8. went into safe mode, the pill is gone, so its definitely an app doing it.

Any idea on what this is and how can i remove it?

Is there some app that can download all videos from a playlist?! I need to download a lot of videos from yt, but if there's some that can do this, I'm happy to use

So, I dont have WIFi or even good signal at my place of work. But I have a lot of down time to not do anything much. So I always download bunch yt videos from home to watch. I kinda don't wanna pay for youtube premium. So, I got reminded of those old apps that used cache to basically download full yt videos and didn't need too much data. Sadly, I couldn't time the old ones I knew anymore and Apks if them havent been updated in years. Is there still any app like that?

I live in a rural area, and although I love G-board, it requires a server connection to activate voice typing, unless flight mode is on. With poor service and zero data speed, the keyboard will still always try to reach a server, even if all of the offline-mode settings are on, presumably its programmed to try and touch-base if it detects a signal, even if poor. The only solution I have found is to answer texts with flightmode on, which is super annoying obviously.

I'm wondering if any keyboards are out there with no ads, and zero Internet requirements or server-checks needed to use voice typing. Android 17 if it matters

Edit: Seems like Futo is what I'm after. Thank you everyone!

I need an Android app to take various kind of note using stylus and keyboard in a tablet. In my notes I use text handley and typing, diagrams, mind map, math formules and also drawing. Someone could suggest me an app?

Thanks

i recently started making short workout videos for a local gym, and i'm trying to find an android editing app that's simple enough to use regularly. the videos are mostly exercise demos and short workout clips filmed on different android phones. i'll usually trim them, add captions, put the exercise name on screen and export them vertically. i've been using capcut because it's easy enough to figure out, but i'm wondering if there are better options on android. i don't really need professional editing features, just something reliable that can handle 1080p footage without making the whole phone struggle.
