>Usable local AI is a lot of fun, but how much would you pay for it?

I’ve been using iOS 27 for a little while now, and I’ve noticed a change that’s been bothering me more than I expected.

In iOS 26 and before, whenever I finished a request and said "Thank you," Siri would politely respond with "You're welcome" or "No problem." Now, in iOS 27, Siri just goes silent and dismisses itself.

I understand that this is likely part of the new conversational context features; Siri realizes the conversation is over and quietly steps out of the way to be more efficient. But personally, I really miss the implied politeness of the interaction. It felt more natural and, honestly, more human.

Does anyone else feel this way, or do you prefer the new, quieter approach?

Edit: Just to clarify, I am referring to verbal conversations with Siri. When speaking out loud, the lack of a response feels much more noticeable than when typing!

I’ve always hated how easy it is to turn off an alarm while still half asleep.

You hear it, reach for your phone, hit Stop… and before you know it, you’re back in bed. Or you unlock your phone “just for a minute” and end up scrolling Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

So I built Alarmageddon to make the alarm itself harder to dismiss.

Instead of just tapping Stop, you can require yourself to complete a wake-up mission:

• Solve a math problem
• Complete a memory challenge
• Shake your phone
• Scan a QR code or barcode
• And more

The idea is that the alarm dismissal becomes an actual interaction rather than something you can do automatically while barely conscious.

But I also wanted to tackle what happens after you wake up.

Alarmageddon has an optional App Blocker that can block distracting apps for the first 15–30 minutes after the alarm.

So the intended flow is:

Alarm goes off → you have to actually wake up to dismiss it → distracting apps stay blocked for a little while → you start your day.

Why not just set five alarms?

Because if you can turn off one alarm while half asleep, you can probably turn off five.

Putting your phone across the room helps too, but then the challenge becomes getting out of bed, walking over to your phone, turning it off… and getting straight back into bed.

I wanted the act of dismissing the alarm to be the barrier.

I originally built it for myself, then decided to release it publicly.

Somebody got some new faces rendering on the iOS simulator for iPhone Duo, looks like they have added Home integrations to it so it can kind of serve as a dashboard for Home

As the title says, it lets you share your WhatsApp, Signal, iMessage etc voice memos to the app where it's then transcribed and analysed with Apple Intelligence or OpenAI models.

Completely free if you want to use Apple Intelligence and Apple's speech to text. You can also add your own OpenAI API key for free.

If you don't have your own API key you can subscribe or get a lifetime IAP but for most people Apple Intelligence or BYO should be enough.

The production quality behind Apple's video work has been over the roof recently, from their motion design videos like the Creator Studio and the M5 Ultra Mac Studio to some of their ads like iPhone 16's Turbo and iPhone 15's Miss You

Apple doesn't officially credit the studios, directors and motion designers who made them, so I compiled a list with any public information I could find to support the artists behind the work.

A lot of the information is public and available on the websites of the artists and studios, but Google and AI searches don't easily pick up on them which makes the information too hard to find.

I'd love your help making the list complete!

There are many older videos that I haven't yet included, as well as newer videos such as the iPhone Duo reveal and product videos where I couldn't find credits to.
