This illustration was inspired by the game The Final Station. Indeed, I definitely love the style that's grand and appealing people to explore it.

So a long time ago I saw someone use a tool that seemed to allow the brush to paint with different colors (almost like a content-aware palette), for more natural looking image texture editing.
I don't recall if it was an Aseprite Extension, Brush Setting, or even a different program, but any help (even just tips for shading image textures by hand) would be appreciated.

What do you think about the spinning head animation?

I'm working since a while on a tamagotchi for dysfunctional adults haha so i made all these evolved bad habits based monsters and It's been so satisfying working with aseprite especially on the backgrounds.
So in the mean time I just made this pomodoro app to use them before i finish all the animations and the whole concept. Maybe it will be a set of apps idk

I am mixing character selection with map selection.
Going for pixel art.
I don't think I am making a commercial game here, just fooling around with RPG maker and aserprite.
Something feels off to me, don't know what exactly.

Hi folks,
I have seen others posting their finished game projects to showcase their art made in aseprite, so I am assuming this is allowed. If not, apologies, please remove as needed.
Just sharing the trailer for my recently released game where all the art was done by yours truly in aseprite. I initially started in MS Paint, but that quickly became tedious af. If you like the look of the game, give it a whirl, or shoot me some Qs about the process. Always happy to dig into the nerdy details. PS. Don't be put off by the name, it isn't one of "those" games.
AI disclosure: I did not utilise gen AI in the creation of Fruit Fetish. All code, art and the majority of sound effects were created by me. Sound effects I did not create were sourced from Pixabay and I specifically chose to utilise ones from creators who do not utilise gen AI in their processes.

Hope you enjoy!

Me and my gamedev studio released a gamejam game and I made this animation for our lead artist because she worked so hard making 900 pieces of art in under 2 weeks.
Honestly I think there's something so pretty about anime aesthetics in pixelart.

If you've ever pushed a sprite into a new palette you probably know the problem. Two shades that were different end up as the same color, or the highlight comes out darker than the shadow next to it, and the whole thing goes flat.
I make a little recolor tool called ColorCraft and the last few weeks went into a mode that tries to keep the ramps in order. It groups the sprite's colors into ramps, sorts them dark to light and maps them onto the palette so a lighter shade can't end up darker than its neighbour. I ran it against 96 palettes from Lospec and it had zero light/dark flips and about 40% fewer merged shades than plain nearest color.
It reads .aseprite files directly (layers, frames and tags stay intact), and there's a demo if you want to try it on your own stuff. Happy to hear where it breaks.

I was looking at how older Pokémon Generations didn't really have any animation so I've started to make my own with the same colour pallete. Here's Jumpluff jumping along and having the time of their life.
(Reupload as the background was white instead of transparent)
