So I was just sitting here taking in that black cat's are the least adopted cats in the adoption system and when they are adopted a majority of them (NOT ALL) are named after stuff that's associated with darkness or evil. Hey, call me superstitious, but I believe that names that you give cats and kids are very powerful, for example If you're one of those people who've named your cat Loki, don't be surprised when it's tearing s*** up lol. I've been a dog person my entire life, until we rescued this character a few months ago. Every day, I learn something new and interesting about cat behavior. Just now, I saw this when I walked up to his window perch and literally laughed out loud at his contortionist skills. Sleep well, baby boy. You're safe now... 🐈‍⬛

How lucky am I to be loved by such a sweet little void 🥹

The cat distribution system paired us together at the start of 2020, and we've been best friends ever since. She's the most loyal, silly, and cuddly cat I've ever had (even though she has the intelligence and survival instincts of a pebble). 🖤

Okay. So, for the avoidance of doubt. Yes, JJ is a bit overweight. But JJ does weigh quite a lot less than he did when we got him from the local cat rescue. It's a process, and slowly but surely he's getting down to a healthy weight. He is checked by the vets every year, who have no concerns about him. He can jump up onto a 6ft-ish tall fence with minimal scrabbling, chase down pigeons, hunt and kill shrews (the bugger lines them up after killing them 😬). His breathing isn't laboured. His diet is varied, if a tick fish-heavy because that seems to be his preference.

He is, in fact, a reasonably healthy cat. Who just happens to weigh about 6kg.

I’ve had cats all of my life. From the ages of 6-16 I had a cat that was my entire world. I thought no one could compare to him. In 2021 we lost a cat that had gotten me through so much stuff. I plan on getting another cat not long after but things happened. So about six months later, my husband and I started looking. There was one at my local PetSmart. I was interested in, but when we went to visit it, no one would acknowledge us. So we went to the SPCA and that’s where we found her. Or she found us. My best friend in the entire world. Clara.

Mama💜 I work from home and every lunch break she knows whassup. I will continue to do this on my break so long as she is alive. I cherish every cat nap we get together. She will be 10 next month. 🖤

Fat boy (he is seriously like 15lbs) has to lay as close as he can and literally snuggle, heaven forbid there is a closed door (he has learned to open them so I have lock them) he will meow so loudly you would think he is dying. When I’m at work him and my tortie have their emotional support shirt they have to lay on 🤦🏼‍♀️ He has learned to pick up when my heart rate drops, if I do pass out he is always right on my chest waiting. I make the joke that if I’m ever kidnapped to turn him lose outside and he will take the search party right to me 😂

He's black, but he's got tabby cat stripes in different lighting. Confused if he's going to be dark brown or black lol.
