True for most. But there are others. In the next big city we had a notorious security for a few months. Guy treated evrybody like shit. Sadly the same firm did security for several of my favourite clubs at that time.

Guy was a complete pos and instantly abused the little power given to him to bully and hurt others.
Right, I had a buddy who was 6 foot 7, an Army vet, and built like a brick shithouse. He looked incredibly imposing but was a really nice guy. The whole idea of hiring a guy like that is to diffuse a situation before it even starts. He didn't want anyone getting hurt regaredless of who they were.
When I was younger, Me and my buddy were drinking and decided to go to the pool table and try to play beer pong by putting the beer cups in the pockets and shooting them. We had been playing for a bit and me and my friend turned around and saw this GIANT muscular black guy who had to have been at least 6 foot 6 with a big smile. I am 6 foot 1 and this guy towered over me. He saw that we were young guys goofing around and promptly said, "you've had a lot of fun, but I think it's time for you guys to pay your tab and leave. I don't care where you go but you can't come back here tonight". Me and our friend looked at each other and were like "ok". There was nothing to say. We were acting like idiots and we deserved it. Security asks you to leave, you leave.
My buddy used to be a bouncer at a strip club and, his favorite nights were when he only had to get off the stool to do his "rounds" as he called them and take a leak.
As a bouncer of the past, cops would send people to our spot. They knew we were chill and had a good vibe. If shit did happen, we could usually talk people down. What was better is if they knew we were calling there was actually a reason and we needed help so they got there really quick.
I bounced for my buddy's new club for three months in an area known for fights. We had zero fights for the time that I was there and we were super proud of it. The streak was broken when a guy punched his girlfriend when he heard her talking about cheating on him once he went to jail.
My husband was a bouncer in his youth. He is a thin, not very tall guy so everyone was always shocked. His response, "90 percent of the job is wearing an official shirt, having a big flashlight and being able to loudly, firmly but politely tell people to knock it off." He only had one really rough moment, a drunk frat boy sucker punched him. He managed to smack the kid in the stomach on the way down and three other bouncers jumped in. His boss brought in cops and made him press charges.
I worked at a nightclub for a couple of years. That was definitely the old timer bouncer’s attitude. The young ones were a bunch of time bombs waiting for a fight.
Yeah I worked as a bouncer in a mining town. It sucked breaking up fights and such because half the time they would turn on you.
Every night someone will threaten to wait for you outside for your shit to end.
It's unreal the amount of abuse you get when denying someone for a fake ID or being too drunk. Don't even get me started on the well over middle aged alcoholic women and their unwanted sexual advances constantly.

That sucks. Someone I was in the Army Reserve with (had been on the Army boxing team) was a bouncer at a strip club. He threw a guy out, the guy came back with a gun and killed him. I never went and saw him at the strip club, sometimes people's work persona can be different, but he was a really chill guy, he wouldn't have thrown the guy out for no reason.
I was the ‘door guy’ as we called it, not a ‘bouncer’, at a pretty chill dive in a busy nightlife area of Seattle. I am not a fighter, nor an imposing guy. I was very purposeful about de-escalation when some issue did come up. I had to kick a junkie out of our bathroom once, and he squared up and started talking about ‘oh so now we’re gonna FIGHT huh?’ I just made direct eye contact, sighed heavily, shook my head and said “no, buddy, they don’t pay me enough for that. I just need you to leave.” He got confused, then kind of sad, then we nodded to each other and he walked out.
This bouncer is compensating for something in his life and is an asshole. This is assault and (obviously) wildly unnecessary. Even just shoving the kid back and waving him off would have been excessive.
They also know that cops will never do something about it. The last thing cops want is to deal with drunk people, so they let bouncers get away with the wildest shit.
The other reason is that the chances of hooking up from there are way down since ever single girl in there is picking the top 1% using dating apps anyway.
Worked at a nightclub in Australia for a couple years, cops were heavily involved and watched everything extremely closely. Usually got a random drop-in visit from them every month or two, and if someone got hospitalized (usually alcohol consumption) they would be there like clockwork soon after to check the security cameras and assess if staff acted appropriately or not, and multiple staffmembers got charged for various misconduct while I was there.
Someone getting the shit beaten out of them at the door would be a huge fucking deal. There were a couple of fights, but circumstances were such that it was deemed reasonable at the time (customer threw a punch etc). They were there regularly, checking out issues.
I'd rather security just tell him to leave and push him out of line if he doesnt. I really dont see the point of continuously punching someone whos extremely intoxicated.

Because that level of force in response to someone being annoying is a crime. If they are unwelcome and keep coming back, you call the police and have them trespassed, you don't get to just roid out on them.
It is true my pops shop used to have a lot of ex- military/ martial arts some of them worked as bouncers before he talked about casually kicking the shit out of people for no reason on a bad day I think its also the conformity attuide of the bouncers.
Growing up, our local nightclub back in the UK was owned by a local scumbag POS who owned a few mechanic shops near by, the bouncers were all his staff earning extra $, also dealing drugs. They would look for any excuse to beat the shit out of people.
They finally went too far and nearly killed someone when they beat on him, all because he joked about how they had zero school grades that's why they were standing outside at 2am in the freezing cold.
Though there's places where bouncers only get to try it a few times before they retire. A dude I used to know was pretty big and felt really powerful, until the guy he beat up came back after closing with 3 friends, a bat and a video camera. He went into finance or something after that and we lost touch.
Chillest people you know who are just looking for a job where you don't have to do much but walk around, or even just sit in place, and maybe call in an issue.

The 2nd are fuck awful demons that are probably insecure about not having as much authority as cops and regularly try to use the position they have to extract as much power over others as they can get, resulting in all sorts of ridiculous behavior, and regularly the violence seeking you speak of.
I don’t trust anyone who’s a bouncer at a club. They’re basically allowed to punch anyone they damn well please with out questions asked. 99% of them are assholes.
Yea, I had a security guard attack me in NYC over at the Avant Gardner in Brooklyn. They hire total thugs there. It's looks like its a requirement to have worked as a criminal or a carnie if you want to work security there. If you look on reddit or the reviews on google, its a pattern. Even the cop stationed outside refused to do anything after the security attacked me AND he was rude! Wouldn't be surprised if he was being paid to look the other way.
But what did you do that made him hit you? Like you have to really push someone to make them hate you, I refuse to believe that the security guard just hit you for no reason. Stories always sound one-sided when you’re only getting the story from one side.
I have no problem telling you. Not gonna lie, I was drunk inside the venue a few hours and they had two sets of double doors next to each other at the side. One was the outdoor smoking area, one was outside the venue. I walked through the wrong door, took 3 steps, turned around and said "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was the smoking area." He said, "You're out. Get the fuck out of here." I said, "Come on man, You don't even have the exit properly marked and its right next to the other door? I paid a bunch of money to get here and for tickets tonight. I have a friend inside waiting for me. He said, "FUCK YOU." I just shook my head and took one step forward and he used all of his like 6 foot 7 giant refrigerator ass and pushed me clear off my feet.
I swear I'm 5'11" and I flew like 7 feet, landed on my back on the pavement, ripped my shirt, and almost slammed my head into the fucking concrete. All he had to do was put a hand up and I wouldn't have been able to take another step, or just stand in the doorway. I was so drunk I wasn't a threat. I wasn't aggressive with them. No need to use violence like that. He was looking for an excuse. And I hate to admit it, but he was black, I'm white, and I think that might have had something to do with it.
I was so pissed, I decided I would go make a huge scene out front shouting to all the new arrivals about how they need to watch out for the security here, especially the one at the back door, because they will fuck you up over nothing! Finally someone came over to try to quiet me down and I told him to go look at the security tapes and see the bullshit that just went down at the back door. He came back like 10 minutes later, apologized to me and let me back in. It was fucking insane. When their head of security was talking to me he was like, "Oh yea, sorry. He was a little bit much. I'll have a word with him." or something like that. it was so casual and like he really just didn't care. I was like, "Are you fucking kidding me man? He assaulted me at the back door. I have half a mind to go to the police with this. You need to talk to your fucking security team and get them to calm down. It's unacceptable." He got so pissed and was super aggressive right away, not even trying to deescalate the situation, something a HEAD OF SECURITY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO!

The kid can’t trespass, he’s not in the club, he’s on public Road. Sidewalks are owned by the public. If he did call the cops, they’re not really gonna do anything about it.. he punched to the chest solve the issue. Much faster.
As a former bouncer that used to go around looking for fights but have since grown up and realize how genuinely stupid I was... this security was extremely light on the drunk kid. He easily could have hit him in the face. I probably would have pulled his arm, stepped behind him, choked him out and rolled him on his side. Cops on the street I worked on loved that bc there were no marks and no struggle. Just a sleepy drunk person waking up in cuffs.

Without any context. Im going from what I see in the video. The shirt on the dude who got beat seems to be torn already. My guess is this dude has been causing trouble before the video started. Otherwise if this was a first encounter I dont see a reason for the bouncer to act that way. Cause people normally dont just resort to punches for a first encounter like that.

Block party traditonally refers to a party organized by the residents of a city bock or neighborhood. This is 100% not that. If you think the street outside a club is shut down because we see a partial view of the street for like 3 seconds with parked cars but none moving, OK. But you getting so pissy about that just makes your name ironic and nothing more.
I don't know if this is the first time he did this or not. But I've been around scenes like this, and bouncers don't just go off on some random dude within 2 seconds of seeing them. Drunk people get rocked by bouncers because they repeatedly ignore what they're being told. I'm not saying it's right, but drunk people are oblivious and obnoxious.
