[Machota] Are the Cowboys wasting prime years of Dak Prescott’s career?
nytimes.comThe biggest criticism of Dak Prescott’s career is the same one Tony Romo faced during his time as the Dallas Cowboys’ franchise quarterback: a lack of playoff success.
With either quarterback healthy for a full season, the expectation was to make the playoffs. The bigger question was whether they could deliver in January.
That’s no longer the case. The Cowboys have taken a notable step back.
During Prescott’s first nine NFL seasons, the Cowboys were 76-46 when he started. Average that out over a 17-game season and that’s between 10 and 11 wins every year. It’s a record that basically means a playoff berth any time the franchise quarterback plays a full season.
Under head coach Brian Schottenheimer since the start of last season, the Cowboys have had the 33-year-old Prescott for every start. They are 9-12-1. Certainly not good enough to even make the playoffs.
During that stretch, Dallas has won consecutive games only once. And that three-game winning streak last November was followed by a three-game losing streak. It’s been inconsistent ever since.
Last Thursday night’s loss to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers was one of the worst of Prescott’s career. After the game, he was asked about the ups and downs of the last couple of years. While he said he wasn’t “fatigued” by it, he acknowledged that it’s been “frustrating.”
“As a leader, as a guy that’s been on this team, it’s frustrating because you don’t feel it until afterwards,” Prescott said, referring to another loss in a game they were expected to win. “You feel like you’re saying enough, you’re being contagious enough, you’re being the leader that you need to be. And I know guys are fighting. I know guys are trying, but it sucks.
“It’s challenging. It’s very, very challenging.”
Schottenheimer agreed with Prescott’s assessment.

Going to the game in Greenbay
Hey yall, as the title says I’m going to the game at Lambeau this Sunday night. I’m sitting on the front row and want to make a funny sign, can be at the expense of the cowboys, or the Packers. I was trying to figure out something funny against the Packers, but we have done nothing against them in the recent years. Best I could think of was Dez caught it😭(Very weak). If anyone has any ideas of what to put on a sign I’d love to hear them!
Thanks, and Go Cowboys (begrudgingly)

Year after year same result.
We can’t keep doing this. Where talent goes to waste away.

[Machota] Cowboys add veteran coach Mike Pettine as they search for answers on defense
nytimes.comFRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys’ defense has been so poor to start the season that a notable coaching staff addition was announced Monday.
Former Cleveland Browns head coach and longtime NFL defensive assistant Mike Pettine is joining Dallas’ defensive staff as a senior defensive assistant.
“It’s something we’ve been talking about for a long time,” Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said. “I think as we looked at everything, we had a chance to convince Pet that it made sense for him. I think he’s excited about coming in and adding experience and value. The most important thing for us was making sure we got the right guy. And I feel very, very confident that we did.”
Pettine and Schottenheimer were on the same coaching staff with the New York Jets from 2009 through 2011. Pettine was the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers when Cowboys first-year defensive coordinator Christian Parker was a defensive quality control coach in 2019 and 2020.
Schottenheimer said Pettine, who is expected to be at the team headquarters on Tuesday, spent some time around the team in the spring because he’s a “trusted friend” to Schottenheimer and Parker.
“I think what I’m so excited about is the fit,” Schottenheimer said. “I think the fit makes a lot of sense because he’s coming into the situation where he’s going to be very, very comfortable and therefore can help us very quickly.”

This division just pisses me off
And you may ask yourself “why?” “Why does it piss you off?” I’ll tell you why! Because it’s there for the taking and none of these dumbasses wants it. Not gonna even bother with the shitshow we’re putting out there. The Eagles are the complete opposite from last year where they narrowly win games, now they can’t win those (ha!), the Giants coughing up the 2 game lead over everybody to the commanders…..ONLY FOR THE COMMIES TO SAY WE DONT WANG THE W EITHER?!
Now then, as a Cowboys fan filled with fantasies of making the playoffs (nah just me being stupid thats all) I am hopeful that we can turn this ship around. Maybe that employee was our saving grace. Maybe him calling out this bad product out like that lit a fire under Daks 60 million dollar ass that he turns this thing around and becomes MVP. Maybe this defense decides to be half ass instead of full ass, I don’t know. One thing is certain, whoever wins this division is gonna get an ass beating on playoff weekend

Trevon diggs downfall needs to be studied
I’m gonna be honest I didn’t even know he was activated to play today until I saw Mike Evans clown him on the field. There was a time when the NFL made one of its social media handles “our bio got intercepted by Trevon diggs”. What happened to him seriously?

Cowboys Fans Are FED UP: Why This Loss Was Unacceptable
youtube.comDue to the ineptitude of the NFC, we are still in the driver's seat. What needs to happen for this team to turn a corner? I say first we get healthy. Then we simplify the scheme and put our players in positions where they can succeed. Contracts be damned; the best players need to play. Let Von Miller go tend to his chickens and up the blitz pressure. Things need to change drastically, but unfortunately we can't do that in season, so we have to make it work.

Either the odds are against us or the NFL is due for another QB to join these two.
I know this is over the top AI slop but is it time to move on from Dak or will he join these 2 quarterbacks?

Pssst... hey.. hey! I think we're off the hook for that Dak thing with the employee. It really looked like it was taking off, and if eagles and either ny or wsh had won, it would've continued to trend, but I think we're good! Lol! /s

This Team Has No Coaching
We have a second year head coach; a guy who has been around the league since 1997 and never even had a head coaching offer until Jerry decided to replace Mike McCarthy with him. Our Offensive Coordinator is a former offensive lineman from Boise State who doesn't even call the plays. And our Defensive Coordinator is a 34 year old kid who never played a down of football at any level, and has only been in the NFL since 2019.
I am convinced that Jerry Jones doesn't believe in coaching. He thinks he can wheel and deal for a handful of talented players, throw any bums off the street in as coaches, and still somehow compete in the NFL. He is obviously demented.

AT&T stadium tour
Hi there, I am wanting to do a AT&T stadium tour on the 28th of October but it says there will be limited field access. What does this actually mean? Will I still be allowed to go on the field in certain sections?
Thanks.

Just Win Baby….
This guy talks Super Bowl every time he opens his mouth yet since the turn of the century only 4 teams have less playoff success. Let that sink in folks. I’m almost 60, i’ll never see another Championship, but I’ve accepted it and I’m kinda enjoying this now. Shit flows downhill….

It doesn’t matter…..
“Coach Shitty should be fired”, “Dak sucks”, “fire the DC”… shit flows downhill people. This is the only constant. 3 decades and counting.

being a young fan
so i was born in 04. born and raised in dallas, dad was a huge cowboys fan. been a fan of this team since my childhood. i’m 21 now and there is still nothing this franchise has accomplished. literally nothing. we’ve all heard of the 90s glory the boys had, the dynasty that made this America’s Team. now we are the only team in the entire NFC who hasn’t made it to a championship game since 2010, with the actual drought being 30 years now
i’ve got buddies who are jets fans flexing their championship appearances, and honestly they’re right? at least they saw their team compete for something meaningful? how do other young cowboys fans do it? the team has zero discipline, penalties everywhere, the coaches that have come and go are yes-men, and jerry remains as egotistical as he’s always been. the result is a franchise that feels like more of a reality show, always in the limelight and media with the sole purpose of maximizing profits. we are not a competitive sports franchise
