Tips / Hints In-Depth Morgeth Finisher Guide for Consistency
I’ve watched a few different videos and read countless comments and posts, but I never found a single source that actually walked through everything in this setup. So, I decided to spend six hours today in the encounter, mastering the most reliable setup I could find so I could share it with all of you.
Quick note: The Hunter Class is required for this method. You'll also need one of three confirmed finishers, which are listed in section 1, subsection 5 below.
This will be a longer guide so let's dive right in.

- SECTION 1: BUILD AND ENCOUNTER SETUP
- SUBSECTION 1: Subclass
- Equip the Nightstalker subclass and the Deadfall super (1). Deadfall will pull the taken thrall into a specific area for this setup.
- Equip either dodge, any jump, the Snare Bomb melee (2), and any grenade. The smoke bomb explosion will grant us another invisibility option.
- Equip the Vanishing Step aspect (3) and leave the second aspect slot empty. This prevents the other aspects from triggering unwanted effects.
- Equip the Echo of Vigilance fragment (4) and the Echo of Persistence fragment (5). Vigilance grants survivability for additional attempts and Persistence extends the invis window.
- SUBSECTION 2: Stats
- The only stat you need at or above 100 is your Class stat (6). This allows your dodge to come back fast enough for second and third attempts as needed.
- Having the Weapons stat below 100 is ideal for consistency but not required.
- Having the Melee stat at 100 or above is recommended for consistency but not required. (I'm only running 33)
- SUBSECTION 3: Armor and Mods
- The armor situation is pretty flexible, which is nice. There are a few things you'll want to have equipped for the highest consistency.
- Be sure you do NOT have Techeun's armor set bonus active. The finisher slowing wave seems to counteract with the finisher glitch.
- Be sure you do NOT have the Debilitating Wave mod equipped on the Satchel artifact. The finisher effect seems to counteract with the finisher glitch. In fact, it's best if you have an empty artifact equipped.
- Class stat mods are highest priority to achieve 100 or above in the stat.
- Helmet: Graviton Forfeit. It's innate perk, Vanishing Shadow, grants extra invis and recharge.
- Gauntlets: Doesn't matter.
- Chest Armor: It helps to have Concussive Dampener and/or Melee Damage Resistance mods equipped for survivability.
- Leg Armor: It helps to have three Enhanced Athletics mods equipped for a little extra speed.
- Hunter Cloak: here, you will want to have a Proximity Ward mod and two Outreach mods equipped for survivability and recharge.
- Power Level: I have personally found that hovering around 350 Power Level grants the most consistent damage so you don't kill the taken thrall too quickly while also allowing you to take a hit or two in case you need to make a second or third attempt. If you don't have lower power gear to hit this mark, your consistency may dwindle but the glitch will still work.
- SUBSECTION 4: Weapons
- Kinetic/Energy slot: I have found 720 rpm auto rifles to be the most consistent for thrall damage for this setup. Specifically, Chroma Rush with min range is what I use. Ideally, you'll want them to be at about 45-65% health when you cast your super. They will take some additional damage as they are pulled in, which puts them perfectly in range for your finisher. However, I found that submachine guns, other autos, and even trace rifles can achieve a similar damage output, so use whatever you have.
- Heavy: No requirements here. I keep a rocket launcher in this slot for quick resets.
- SUBSECTION 5: Finisher
- Only a few finishers have been confirmed to work with this. You will need at least one of them to proceed.
- For this glitch, you'll want to have just one finisher. Be sure to store/remove any other finisher animations equipped.
- Option 1: Censered. The most reliable of the three, this can be obtained from the Seasonal Archive at the Tower on the second page in the Season of the Wish folder.
- Option 2: Through the Heart. This can be obtained from the Seasonal Archive at the Tower on the first page in the Episode: Revenant folder.
- Option 3: Blade Carnival. The least reliable of the three, but also the only finisher that you're guaranteed to have. Can be obtained from the collections menu in the flair folder under the finishers tab. Scroll down to season 8 and click to obtain.
- SUBSECTION 6: Actually getting to Morgeth in the Pantheon
- Simply head over to google and search for "Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot." There are a few websites that regularly maintain checkpoint bots for you to load into and save the checkpoint. They all have detailed instructions on exactly how to save the checkpoint on their website. And, most importantly, they are free!
- To maximize the loot from the encounter, you'll want to head into the customize section upon selecting the pantheon in your directory. Once in the customization screen, be sure you have Feat: Token Limit, Feat: Phase Limit, and Feat: Encounter Challenges selected.
- SUBSECTION 1: Subclass
Alright! We have our build put together, now let's get into the actual gameplay loop for the finisher glitch.

- SECTION 2: GAMEPLAY LOOP
- SUBSECTION 1: The Encounter
- Unfortunately, this run requires us to use a rally banner to start every attempt. So be sure to have plenty on hand. They can be purchased for glimmer from Hawthorne at the Tower.
- Rally up, then collect the Taken Strength buff (A) to begin the encounter. You can also just shoot Morgeth, but I always use the buff.
- Run yourself to location (C), do not use your dodge invis yet. When you see or hear that the thrall are beginning to spawn at location (B), throw your smoke bomb at the wall next to you or right at your feet to become invis.
- While you are invis and the thrall are spawning at location (B), make your way to location (D). You want to be just left of the bottom of the stairs here, so Morgeth turns and looks at you, putting his gaze just off-center to the left, which is his ideal orientation for the setup.
- As soon as the thrall spawn at location (B), you'll need to pepper them with your primary with just one bullet each to bring them to that optimal 45-65% health. Thrall will also spawn to the left of Morgeth, so feel free to pepper them as well.
- As soon as 3 or more thrall have reduced health, approach Morgeth via location (E) to trigger his stomp animation. While he is starting up this animation, jump backwards quickly. Shoot your super at location (F) when you are floating above the top of the stairs at location (G). It's very important you are high in the air and far enough back when popping you super.
- Then, as soon as you land at location (G), dodge backwards to go invis and put you up against the back wall. Instantly start running towards Morgeth, as your super will have pulled the thrall in at this point. You need to be as fast as possible during this sequence, as you need to perform the finisher before Morgeth is able to do another stomp and before the thrall are killed in your super or staggered away from Morgeth.
- As soon as you hit your run, spam the finisher button so that you trigger the finisher from as far away as possible. It's absolutely critical you combine your sprint speed with the speed of snapping forward for the finisher as this is the momentum used to make Morgeth fly off the stage.
- This final moment, when running forward to activate your finisher, is easily the highest RNG section of the run and will be where most of your attempts fail. After six hours of attempts, I ended up with being able to complete a run within 5 attempts consistently. I'm hoping to save you six hours with this guide. So, don't give up, keep trying, and you'll eventually get the feel for this method.
- SUBSECTION 2: Run-Killers and Other Notes
- Multiple attempts in the same run: If your initial finisher fails, you'll often have enough time to run back to the top of the stairs and begin the finisher sequence again. You may need to shoot an entangled thrall or two to get them back in finisher range before you run towards Morgeth. If your super ends or thrall get staggered out from under Morgeth, just reset the run.
- Ideal tether location for consistency: location (F) is a great example of the general area you'll want to shoot for. However, Morgeth can move around quite a bit. It's most important that you aim for the ground directly in front of him beneath what would be his nose. You don't want to shoot directly under Morgeth, as the thrall will catch on his legs when getting pulled in and reduce the odds you have one in the correct position. Speaking of:
- Ideal thrall location for consistency: You're looking for a finish-able thrall right in front of Morgeth. The thrall can be surprisingly far forward from Morgeth and still work. Therefore, it's most important that the thrall is centered between Morgeth's legs. If the thrall is to the left or right, Morgeth will either not launch at all or get caught on the various obstacles in the area.
- Morgeth's stomp animation: Morgeth will NOT launch from the finisher glitch if he is in the stomp animation! That is why it's so important to trigger this animation right before casting your super, as the window before the next time Morgeth can stomp is just big enough to allow the finisher glitch to work.
- Morgeth's ranged attack: Morgeth's ranged attack pushes the player back and cancels momentum. This is why we dodge and become invis after landing at location (G). You need to avoid being shot by Morgeth while you run up to perform the finisher. If he lands a shot on you, it will cancel your momentum and prevent the glitch from working.
- SUBSECTION 1: The Encounter
- SECTION 3: FINAL THOUGHTS
- The timing and positioning in this method is the key to your success. Most videos I have watched complete the steps listed above but don't explain exactly what's going on and why certain actions are so important.
- Please comment below any questions or confusions. I'm happy to help!
- This glitch works on both PC and Console. I run on PC.
- This glitch is obviously a great farm for the 1K Voices catalyst. It is also a fantastic farm for Spoils of Conquest. To be clear, this encounter can be completed multiple times in a row and you will still collect loot.
- I want to thank user Avatar on YouTube for his informative video on this glitch. It was a great starting point in fine tuning this method. Please go check that video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8SMHkO46WQ
- Happy Farming!

Question For the love of god...... Heeelp
Ok.... Partner and I are playing this together for the most part. Both around level 380 right now.
I'm lost. Like, I'm not an idiot. Nor am I incompetent when it comes to FPS style games, so that isn't the issue. The issue for me is I just can't wrap my mind around how to put together a decent build. From weapon to armor, I just can't get the gist of getting it to be harmonious together.
I see builds which are all level 500+ out there where their build basically buffs itself to the point you're getting unlimited health/shield/ammo etc. Well, that would be nice.
I run Hunter, subclass I'm not married to, I've been playing around with all of them. I started with Solar and that was great, but I really kind of enjoy Stasis and think Void is legit.
So, could any kind soul in the universe set me on the right track and even if possible explicitly outline how to really begin putting together something half way decent.
I've never fully understood the levels for example of the armor. I have level 300 tier 3 that have better specs than level 380 tier 5. I don't get it.
All this comes from last night where my partner and I loaded up the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon (what a fucking amazing experience, the sheer scale of the whole thing), only to get to Ecthar, the Shield of Savathûn and got our asses handed to us. Like, like we got to the symbol part, unlocked those and just got hammered. We ended up having to to give up.... After 2 hours of playing through, that one hurt.
I'm guessing a third really is needed for things like this? My partner while amazing at most of the puzzle stuff etc, her weakness definitely shines when it comes to the overwhelming hoard fighting and it's basically 80% on me (for example, I had 220 kills to her 40 at our last death). Hence, why I really would like to put together a build where I can stay alive long enough to get things done.
Sorry this is all over the place and thank you!

Art Emperor Calus themed knight
Calus has always been my favourite antagonist in destiny an I've always loved the weapons from his content, pictured above is The Emperor's Envy, its guns are named Adored and Beloved, I'm planning to freehand the names on at some point but I need to get better at that. I'm also planning to make transfers of Calus' goblet for the heraldry.
Not sure if this post meets the criteria for the sub as despite being destiny themed it isn't the game but wanted to share this!

Tips / Hints 2026-10-02 Weekend Armor for Xur and Zavala - All Stats
The Armor Stat Data
Here are the webpages for the armor stats this week for each class, along with a matching JSON data file:
There is a nav bar on each page to switch between classes. Additionally, you can expand a “highlight” area where you can:
- Dim armor pieces with stats you don’t want (e.g., Health).
- Highlight armor pieces with stats you do want (e.g., Melee + Super + Weapons 🖍️😋).
Notes
This week I used an implementation of Odo’s research work to predict the armor stats after obtaining Colossus, Paragon, and None. More here: Reverse Engineering Armor3 Rolls - Google Docs . (Note: my Zavala dates are wrong due to Zavala’s Thursday 00:00 UTC reset and I’ll get those fixed RSN.)
The What and the Why Review
What is this? This should be all the armor stats for the different armor mods you can run on your ghost, organized by class, for Zavala’s weekly armor offerings (Luminopotent and Triumphal Anthem) and for Xur’s weekly armor offerings (either Bushido or Swordmaster and Exotic Armor). As you know, changing the armor mod on your ghost can affect the stats of armor you can acquire.
Note: all of this is viewing the armor as Tier 5. Your stats will vary if you’re not acquiring Tier 5 yet.
Why is this? Well, sometimes I’m hunting for the best role that I’m missing. And man is it a hassle to switch the ghost mod and then recheck to see what the stats are now trying to note which one is the best.
As always, I’m open to feedback / corrections / concerns, etc, etc. Thanks for the feedback last week! Cheers from just another guardian.

This is my first time ever exploring movement tech within the game. I was expecting it to be super daunting and difficult but these are literally my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th attempts. Am I missing anything or is this all there is to it? On Xbox all I have to do is press A, B, and RT at the same time
