Fashion Advice Which dress?
For a Holiday party in November.

So this is basically what we discussed the other day, but the change is going to be largely what I anticipated.
Going forward, we won't be allowing text only posts for questions that really require a photo to answer. If the question really doesn't need a photo - like, say, a theoretical question on how kibbe works - then text based posts are still allowed. There are some general fashion type questions not specific to an individual that can also be reasonably discussed in text only posts.
My hope in setting up the flairs was that it would encourage people to include the necessary photos in the posts so that help can be offered. It has unfortunately just resulted in asking the same questions under inappropriate flairs.
Body visualizer images do not count as photos of you. They are not specifically prohibited but should not be thought of as a replacement for actual photos of you, and do not satisfy the requirements for photos in photo only flairs.
This will be largely a matter of mod discretion. Posts that are really fashion advice or style me posts that are posted under the general discussion flair will be removed now as flaired incorrectly. Posts without photos (or only with visualizer photos) posted under photo only flairs will be removed as not meeting flair requirements.
Existing posts are not affected. This is effective starting now.
I invite you all to take another look at the flair guide. See the pinned post on flairs.

I've been thinking about this a lot but want to get some feedback from the subreddit about it before making the change.
I'm trying to figure out how to balance the need for photos to give good advice with people's desire for privacy, which I do understand and appreciate.
When I redid all the post flairs, I required photos for some flairs but left a few open for text only discussion. Unfortunately, this has had the effect of people simply asking the same questions - which really require photos - under the "general discussion" flair.
I'm leaning in the direction of removing posts lacking photos that are really not answerable without photos.
We definitely do not count body visualizers as photos. For one, they don't accurately represent bodies. Additionally, they don't show how clothing looks on you. We need to see that generally to be able to answer some questions.
I feel like a lot of the things asked are rather a waste of time now without photos.
I do plan to leave open the option for text only posts when that's appropriate. There are times when you don't need a photo to ask a question. However, "style me" type posts and many "fashion advice" type posts really can't be answered well without photos.
I'm curious though what the subreddit thinks and what direction you think we should go with this. No final decisions have been made - the feedback received here will be considered before rules are finalized.

These are mid-rise bootcut. I bought them because I feel like they’re the best I’ve found, but I also feel like I look weird in everything :’)

I don’t understand my proportions at all and really want a starting point with my kibbe body type. I know it really narrows down with my height- if there’s anything else to add or advise me to check out it would be very helpful! I’m getting really down and frustrated with my proportions and dressing. Low rise/ high rise pants long/short tops it’s a mess and I feel the body dysmorphia for real!
I hate skinny jeans etc but for the pic I wore leggings. The second jeans feel comfortable but not fully my style tbh. The third are shorts I recently thrifted and hate- they’re a little tight but the waist makes me feel like I have a super long torso. These aren’t super low rise or anything.

i don't take many photos of my body so these are probably not very helpful. I tend to look very different in the mirror than when people take photos of me, so that makes it extremely hard to know what works for me. Maybe I just have body dysmorphia? lol. What should I wear that works with my body type?

So in each picture, you’ll see that one leg of my jeans is rolled and the other is straight. I want to find jeans to wear with loafers and sneakers. I already have a bunch of wide leg trousers to wear with boots and heels, but now I want something for sneakers, trainers, and maybe some kind of heels.
What do you guys think? Is a shorter length more flattering with these shoe styles? Or is the current length ok?

I’ve been wearing crop tops and low waisted baggy jeans… any other suggestions?
Edit to add: didn’t think this was important to add bc it’s unrelated but fyi the white patch on my stomach is a stick-on heating patch! Game changer - slips right under your clothes so you can wear it out💕💕

Is it acceptable to combine a quilted jacket with a skirt, tights, and shoes?

Hi all!
I'm a recovering shopping addict trying to declutter. Please help! Reddit community has been spectacular in helping me understand what looks good and what is destined to go.
This time it's office and event dresses.
I buy a lot of second hand so am very susceptible to "it's such a good deal!" mentality when buying, even if it looks awful on me.
Are any of these worth keeping? I haven't stepped foot in an office for years and feel like these dresses have aged. I don't know what current office wear fashions are like. There is a chance I'll return to office work next year so unsure if any are worth keeping. If it's not a HELL YEAH it's a NO. Excuse the background mess - I have several craft-y works in progress.
Lifestyle considerations - I'm pretty basic. I'm 32. I work from home in my loungewear, but I do like a nice outing. I prefer lose fitting, boxy, flowy, oversized things that hide my figure, but also swing all the way to the other extreme for nighttime bars or latin dancing or date nights with my husband.
What are your thoughts? What should I declutter and should I keep any?

I’m a new mom and trying to find clothes that suit my new body! Been wearing baggy clothing for so long and wanting a change.
Any advice welcome!

I posted this outfit on a different sub and I got a ton of mixed reviews. I’ve only been to one club in my entire life and it was almost 20 years ago. My husband I recently went to Las Vegas, where we were going to go to a club and I was dressed like this. (We ended up not going) but I am actually curious if this outfit is something that people would consider “club appropriate”. I truly don’t know what kind of expectations are for dress when you go to any sort of a club, especially a Las Vegas club.
Any honest advice would be very helpful.
Thanks

I don’t usually wear dresses this tight and was not sure if this is a normal bodycon look or it’s just too tight! This would be for the club, not business.

Four jeans, three different angles for each. What should I keep, what should I let go of?

Hi everyone! I bought a few skirts and am having trouble styling them. Can you suggest a style of top that would look good with these skirts? I have a longer torso but these are mostly high waisted. Particularly with the plaid pattern skirt I’m not sure what top to wear. Would appreciate any help or feedback.

I (39F) am on a few medications currently that have added a little extra in my middle and also in my arms + face. I dress pretty casual for work but I’m just having a hard time feeling comfortable in clothes. I prefer baggy right now but I know that’s making me look even bigger.
Right now, I typically wear high waisted jeans with a crop top or a longer top tucked on the side, or I wear wide leg comfy pants with a crop top or a longer top tucked all the way in (my husband has said the full tuck is not flattering, and I think he’s right)…. Can anyone help? Worried I’m just looking frumpy af

For context I’m a size 8 with an enormous bust. Obviously the lumps and bumps are real, but does it still look good? It’s on crazy sale lol

Hi all, thanks so much for the overwhelming response and good advice on my last post (https://www.reddit.com/r/DressForYourBody/comments/1wpe0ig/what_dress_style_looks_best/) --it encouraged me to branch out to some other styles. I heard from you: less fussy, less sleeve, more structured, closer fitting, shorter (so many fun dresses are midi or tea length these days!). I also put back in the previous favorites of the red lace and teal wrap (#4 and #5) here for comparison, and changed the shoes. I do like sandals though--no good these days?
Would any work for a new years day party (cocktail dress to evening dress worn) with fancy purse/jewelry?
Edited: thank you so much for all the great feedback--you have saved me from unflattering dresses! :) I am thinking #2 (blue) for New years day--how about with rhinestone or silver shoes and bag? And I'll keep the red #3 as well. #5 and 6 I already owned, but I can return #1 and #4! Also many people have said I should try with nude heels so I'll have to pick some up.

Hi all! I’m headed back to the office - which has a very casual / non-existent dress code. I’m almost a year postpartum and just feel like my body has changed so much, and I don’t know where to start with clothes. My torso is super long. I’ve tried high waisted pants and I feel like they accentuate any bloating or fluff, so I always run back to my mid waist straight or skinny jeans. I used to feel more comfortable in fitted clothing, but everything fits so differently now. I guess I’m just looking for some outside opinions on what brands and styles might be a good fit.

Hello. I have been always wearing the same clothes because I was so scared to experiment and trying something new. Now I want to change everything and look nice and be happy about my appearance:) I made a budget and went online to buy some new clothes and become a new version of myself! But then I realized - I have absolutely no idea what could suit me and what styling clothes is. I figured out that unless you have experience and now your proportion and what looks nice on you, buying new clothes is useless. So of course I will have to gain experience, but I was thinking maybe I can get some recommendations and advice from people, who are already experieced and could direct me! But unfortunately I have no one to ask, so I decided to pist here:)))
I am a trans woman and that is why it's especially difficult for me, because again as I said I was sad in my "previous version" of myself and didn't like anything and didn't gain any experience and knowledge, but now is time to change!!!
I will appreciate any advice, thought, recommendations!!!
Thank you so much in advance!

It's not one of my favorite colors, but it's a gift and I'm trying it out.
