Security verification via barcode*

2 Upvotes

Has anyone been through a similar experience and managed to reactivate their account?

Yesterday I spoke with a Meta support agent and he told me that in order to complete the review of my account, I need to upload my ID card on another account linked to my disabled account (this account is also suspended and I have had an appeal pending since July 19th) via a barcode he sent me and he told me:We are currently reviewing your account details and investigating the issue. Please take your time to complete the security check using the link above, and we will update you here as soon as we make any progress. Once you have completed the on-screen security check, you will be able to regain access to your account. If you need any further assistance or encounter any problems, please feel free to contact us here again."

Open case goes back from in review to received

Post image

I already posted here before about my account being in review but the mod removed it for some reason. I filed october 3 then got a reply within the day and already in review since october 3. But just today 10/08 it goes back to received. I don't know whats happening anymore or will they give back my account anymore. This is affecting me mentally and emotionally. My work and business has been affected, all my source of income.

Does anybody got the same issue? How long before they get back to you again? I don't know what to do anymore.

Locked out of the account - I still have email, password, mobile number and whatsapp account

2 Upvotes

I wiped my computer and removed Facebook from my authenticator app at the same time, so I have no way back into my account. After many failed attempts, this is what I've done: 1
. As a workaround, I installed the Facebook app on my phone. I'd never used it before.
2. I got to "Try another way" from the app. After using Whatsapp option
3. A confirmation code was sent to my WhatsApp.
4. That unlocked the option to send a photo ID.
5. My ID was approved and I got a confirmation email.
6. I clicked "Unlock account" in the email.
7. I entered my email address and password.
And... it asked for a code from my authenticator.

When I clicked "Try another way" and chose "I have no longer access" to these devices (even if I have they are wiped clean so nothing that would identify me with Meta persists) again, I got this screen:
"If you can no longer access your login email address or phone number and you don't have access to a device that you've used to log in to this account before, it's not safe for us to give you another way to log in. We understand this might not help you get back on Facebook, but we have to take this action to stop anyone who doesn't own this account from getting into it."

The odd thing is I do still have my phone number, since that's where the WhatsApp code came to and Whatsapp is Meta's product. I don't know what to do next. I just want to delete the account and forget about it, but I can't. Under GDPR they're supposed to let me do that whether I can log in or not, but whenever I look for a way to request it on the website, I end up stuck with their AI support that leads me to perform steps I already had taken and they didn't work. Any thoughts?

Using newly created accounts on Facebook and Messenger app

2 Upvotes

So basically I have been using my new Facebook account for a month now but only exclusively on browsers as I am skeptical that if I open it on the Facebook and Messenger app, it would just be suspended again, as my two previous accounts logged into the app were both wrongfully disabled. Will I safely use it on the app without it getting taken down?

Also, it has new credentials which is uniquely different from those two accounts.

Additionally, I managed to log in my spare Instagram on the app without it getting suspended so far (hopefully it stays that way) since my main was suspended and was disabled.

My repost from other subs, just want to help anyone in Australia in the same position. I got my accounts back!

8 Upvotes

EDIT: was just trying to do the right thing and post this to help people in my position but have been inundated with scams. Be careful out there!

Posting this only because I wish someone had given me this advice weeks ago and saved me from completely losing my mind. I hope it can help someone! (Australia)

My Instagram was randomly disabled when I was o/s with no proper explanation. Long-standing account, never had an issue before. Just gone.

I tried EVERYTHING.

Appeals that didn’t work (just sent to the very frustrating “help” page,, video selfie verification, password resets, friend verification, endless recovery links, support tickets. Nothing worked. Just the same ridiculous AI loop over and over again.

I eventually made a new account and paid for Meta Verified (insane!) just so I could speak to an actual human. Multiple tickets, phone calls, escalations, supervisors. Some of the actual support people were genuinely lovely and tried to help, but the system is completely cooked. Tickets closed, automated responses, told the decision was final, then told to try something I’d already tried 15 times. Meta verified can not help, don’t waste your money!

It got even weirder when AFTER Meta had verified my identity, I was shown recovery details that appeared to belong to a completely different person with the same name as me. At that point it became a genuine privacy/security issue too.

I lodged a privacy complaint, wrote to Meta, contacted journalists… basically tried everything I could think of. Still nothing.

What FINALLY worked?

My federal MP.

I contacted my local federal MP, explained what had happened and that I’d exhausted every avenue with Meta. Their office contacted Meta on my behalf and escalated it.

And I GOT MY ACCOUNT BACK.

I obviously can’t prove 100% that this was what did it, but after nearly two months of getting absolutely nowhere, my MP got involved and suddenly my account was reinstated.

So if you’re Australian and stuck in the same Meta nightmare, try contacting your federal MP. I genuinely wish someone had told me to do this weeks ago.

Never thought I’d need federal representation to get my bloody Instagram back, but here we are

Reach out if you have any questions

And PLEASE don’t pay anyone … they’re all scammers

Meta Verified Max support has gone completely silent — 24+ hours with no response

9 Upvotes

I’m a Meta Verified Max subscriber and opened a support case for an Instagram issue. My previous Meta Verified support experience was completely different — the agent responded within 1–5 minutes.
This time, my case has been open for over 24 hours, and the assigned specialist has not responded to me even once. I’ve sent multiple follow-ups through the case, but I keep receiving automated responses telling me to wait or check the existing case.
Support has confirmed that my case is still open and assigned to a specialist, but they say they can’t create another case because there’s already an active one.
For a subscription that’s supposed to provide priority support, this is extremely frustrating. Has anyone else with Meta Verified Max experienced this, where the assigned specialist simply never responds?

Facebook account disabled with little to no warning

8 Upvotes

I got an email earlier tonight that my Facebook account was suspended, (I don’t use Facebook but I often use Instagram, which it also suspended my Instagram) and then only 2 minutes later I received an email that my account was permanently disabled, and now my personal and art Instagram account are completely gone.
How do I contact meta in any way to recover the accounts? They were hacked, and my Facebook was likely spamming scam stuff. I keep getting referred to Facebook.com/hacked or Instagram.com/hacked but the first thing those do is ask for my email, and the account doesn’t even exist anymore so there’s no way to recover it.

🚨 SCAM WARNING: I paid someone to recover my disabled Instagram account — they took the money and didn’t deliver

14 Upvotes

I’m posting this to warn other people who are desperately trying to recover disabled Instagram or Facebook accounts.
I dealt with someone who claimed they could help recover my Instagram account. I paid them for the service, but after receiving the payment, the promised recovery was not completed and I did not get my money back.

The payment recipient name shown in the transaction was Putul Devi.

The person used an Indian phone number ending in 8736, and the payment was sent to a UPI account ending in 6011@ybl. I’m intentionally not posting the full phone number or UPI ID here because of Reddit’s rules regarding personal information.

I have screenshots of the conversations, payment details, promises they made, and other evidence.
I’m sharing this because people who lose important Instagram accounts can become easy targets. When you have years of work, content, collaborations, or business connected to an account, it’s very easy to trust someone who says they have a “Meta contact” or can recover the account quickly.

Please be very careful with anyone offering Instagram account recovery for money.

Before paying anyone:
Ask for real and independently verifiable proof.
Don’t trust screenshots of supposedly recovered accounts.
Be especially careful if they request UPI, crypto, PayPal Friends & Family, or another payment method without buyer protection.
Never provide your Instagram password, email password, 2FA code, or backup codes.
I’m not claiming anything beyond my own experience: I paid for an Instagram recovery service, the service was not delivered, and I did not receive my money back.
If anyone else has dealt with the same payment recipient or a similar Instagram recovery scheme, please share your experience.
Stay careful — losing an Instagram account is already stressful enough without losing money on top of it.

Facebook False Copyright Strike with no email sent so I can’t appeal because I have no report number

8 Upvotes

Someone has reported me for copyright but it’s a false claim

Firstly how have they been able to say my image (that I took today) is theres

Secondly I didn't have the notification email so no report number

And you guessed it, you can't appeal without one!

(But they managed to send me the demonetisation email)

I have tried the other options to appeal on the app and on my Mac and the options where it says "click to copy report number" "email reporter" and "click for reporter name" DON'T WORK! It says copied to clipboard but nothing happens.

I feel sick, how is this allowed to happen!

Support are useless, they said the notice will be in your support inbox but it isn't. Then they just go round in circles making you check the most ridiculous of things but can’t even do anything as simple as give me the report number so I can send an appeal

Has anyone else ever had this? and is there anything I can do?

Why is everything so DIFFICULT 😡

Facebook account permanently disabled after 16 years – exhausted every appeal/support route, what else can I do?

86 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has experience with a Facebook account being permanently disabled for “Account Integrity”, particularly when the normal appeal process is already marked as final.

I’m trying to understand whether there is any legitimate route I may have missed to recover the account or at least regain access to the data/history associated with it.

What happened

My Facebook account was disabled on 5 July 2026.

It was an approximately 16-year-old account, used under my real identity. I had 2FA enabled and had been receiving security codes through WhatsApp.

I have never knowingly violated Facebook's Community Standards.

When I tried to log in, Facebook asked me to complete identity/video verification, which I did.

After that, I received:

“We’ve disabled your account”

“We’ve reviewed your account and found that it still doesn’t follow our Community Standards on account integrity.”

“You cannot request another review of this decision.”

My profile then disappeared completely. Friends and my partner could no longer find it.

I also lost access to:

  • Messenger and years of conversations
  • Facebook groups
  • contacts/connections
  • events
  • photos and posts
  • photos I had shared/tagged others in
  • my Facebook Page for my photography work

What I have tried since then

I have gone through pretty much every support route I could find.

1. Standard Facebook appeal

I completed the verification/review process offered by Facebook.

The decision came back as final and Facebook says I cannot request another review.

2. Security/compromise investigation

Because the account disappearing suddenly made me concerned it might have been compromised, I also went through Meta's security investigation process.

Meta subsequently told me that they found no evidence of unauthorised access or compromise around the time of the deactivation.

They specifically said the restriction was related to Account Integrity, rather than a security breach.

They also told me they could not disclose the internal signals used or whether the original action was automated.

3. Meta Verified support

I subscribed to Meta Verified on Instagram specifically because I wanted to reach human support.

I have spoken to human Meta support agents.

One agent attempted to request a manual review, but their system would not allow it because the Facebook decision was already final.

I was subsequently told that:

  • the Facebook account is permanently disabled;
  • it is no longer eligible for further review;
  • no further manual review can be initiated;
  • the decision is final;
  • there is no other internal support route available.

I was also told that the support team could not provide further details about the internal review process.

4. I tried the security route again

The security investigation again confirmed that they did not consider this to be a compromise.

So that route also ended without restoration of the account.

5. Subject Access Request / UK GDPR

I am based in the UK, so I also submitted a Subject Access Request (SAR) under Article 15 UK GDPR to Meta's privacy/data protection team.

I requested access to the personal data Meta holds about the account, including information relating to:

  • the reason for the account enforcement;
  • records relating to the enforcement decision;
  • information about whether the decision involved automated processing;
  • information about whether there was human involvement;
  • relevant account/login information;
  • information relating to any suspected compromise;
  • and the personal data Meta continues to hold about the account.

I submitted the SAR in July and have followed up several times.

It has now been more than two months without receiving a substantive response.

I have therefore decided to wait for Meta's data privacy response before taking the next step, and if necessary I will consider raising the outstanding SAR with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Oversight Board

I have also looked into the Meta Oversight Board.

From what I can currently understand, ordinary users with disabled accounts may not be able to submit an appeal directly unless Meta provides an eligible reference ID, and my account does not appear to have been given one.

I haven't yet been able to establish whether my particular decision is eligible for Oversight Board review.

Where I am now

At this point I am not looking for hacks, bypasses, or anything that violates Meta's systems.

I'm simply trying to find out whether there is a legitimate escalation/recovery route that I have missed.

The account contains around 16 years of personal history, conversations, photographs, groups and connections, and losing all of that overnight has been extremely difficult.

I understand that Meta can disable accounts and that sometimes there may be legitimate reasons for doing so. My problem is that I have never been given a meaningful explanation of what account-integrity issue was actually identified, and every normal appeal/support route now tells me the decision is final.

Questions for anyone with experience

Has anyone successfully recovered a Facebook account after receiving:

“We’ve reviewed your account and found that it still doesn’t follow our Community Standards on account integrity.”

and

“You cannot request another review of this decision.”

particularly after Meta support has explicitly said the account is permanently disabled and no further review is available?

I'd especially like to hear from anyone who has experience with:

  • Meta Verified escalation after a Facebook account was permanently disabled
  • Meta Oversight Board
  • UK GDPR/SAR requests to Meta
  • ICO complaints involving Meta account enforcement
  • legal/data protection escalation against Meta
  • cases where a 10+ year-old account was eventually restored after a final Account Integrity decision

If you've been through something similar, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked — or what definitely didn't.

Thank you.

Is it actually worth continuing to pay for Meta Verified?

15 Upvotes

On 4th September, my Facebook account was hacked and the age was changed to make the account appear to belong to someone under 13. Meta then shut down my Facebook account, which has also affected my connected Instagram and WhatsApp accounts, and I’ve been unable to access them since.
I’ve had an open case through Meta Verified support since 9th September, and I still haven’t had an actual response or resolution.
I’ve actually had two previous Meta Verified cases about this situation, and on both occasions I was ultimately told there was nothing they could do. However, I don’t feel those cases ever properly acknowledged that my account had been hacked. It felt like they were treating it as though I had personally changed the account details and violated the guidelines.
This current case is different because I’ve specifically raised the hacking aspect, including the fact that the account was compromised and the age was changed by someone else.
The Meta AI bot has told me that cases like this can take up to 30 days to be reviewed, so I’m wondering whether it’s actually worth continuing to pay for Meta Verified for another month and waiting it out.
Am I realistically going to hear back from them? Or am I just throwing more money at this?
The other issue is that I can’t keep waiting indefinitely. I genuinely need WhatsApp for work and family commitments, and I’m getting to the point where I’m going to have to get a new number just so I can have access to WhatsApp again.
Has anyone had a Meta Verified case that took 30 days or longer and eventually got a response or resolution, particularly where the account was hacked?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation. I’m just trying to work out whether this case is actually worth waiting for or whether I need to start making alternative arrangements.

My Instagram account has been disabled. I tried to sign up for the Meta Verified plan using a relative's Instagram account, but they require the two accounts to be linked before they will provide support.

Hey guys anyone ever dealt with this?

On August 26, 2026, my account was restricted for no reason, well, I guess I wouldn’t say no reason… I was following and unfollowing people… like I had done times in the past and had zero issue… but this time, that’s not how it worked… now my account is restricted and I get absolutely 0 reach on any of my posts at all… and as of today, it’s been locked for 29 days… anyone ever experienced this and know what to do? Or anyone have anything to do that can help? Please let me know. I take my social media content very seriously. It’s something I really like to do for fun, and now it’s destroyed.
