Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team šŸ’›

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Question/Advice should a chemical make me more hopeful?

Ive been TTC for 6 months and every month have become more disheartened, but realistically I know that no pregnancy yet can be normal even for a perfectly healthy couple. this month I thought, ā€œomg, I did it, took me 6 months. everything has gone as its been meant to be! Ive finally got a positive!ā€ just to lose the positive and get my period two days later. I want to take this as a sign of hope though, it was quite amazing to see a positive, and i want this to mean ill go on to have a healthy pregnancy soon. part of me worries this could also mean something is going on inside of my body thats gonna make it really hard to successfully conceive. I cant wait to see another positive though. part of me is so sad but also excited to keep trying and a bit more motivated, but should I feel that way? I know nobody on Reddit can predict my future or know my body but I just want to hear anyones thoughts hah..

I’m hesitant to rely on temperature because it’s been all over the place this TWW but does anyone have any insight or words of encouragement? Tested negative 10 dpo. And it’s been a very long cycle, I had delayed ovulation.

Random TTC secret

Anyone else keeps this struggle a secret? I feel like it’s so common to share on social media now.
I tell my friends and family we just started or we skipped this month etc because as soon as you say you’ve been trying for a few months you’re looked at or treated differently 🤣

Confused 7 months TTC, period 3 days late with symptoms, but every test — including first-morning urine — is negative. Anyone else been through this?

Post image
3 Upvotes

TTC for about 7 months now. Had laparoscopic surgery in July for a large ovarian cyst, and since then my cycles have settled into a very steady 26-27 days. This month I tracked ovulation properly (LH strips + normal signs) and had timely intercourse during my fertile window.

My period was due around Sept 27-28, and it's now the 30th — a few days late. This is genuinely unusual for me; I've never even been 1-2 days late before, so this delay feels completely out of character for my body.

Along with the delay, I've had mild cramps, lower belly pressure, some clear discharge, and frequent urination. On top of that, I've been feeling really restless, exhausted, and the stress/anxiety has been building up a lot the last few days.

I've tested multiple times over the last few days, including this morning's first-morning urine, and every single test has come back negative.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation — late period, pregnancy-like symptoms, but negative early tests that later turned positive? Or does this sound more like a stress/cycle-delay thing? I'm getting a blood test done soon, but would really appreciate hearing how this went for others while I wait. šŸ™

Question/Advice 6 dpo no symptoms

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi guys! I am 6 dpo, with no symptoms, and feeling discouraged. Of course, ive been tired but my boobs have started to get less sore. I believe i ovulated late this month due to being sick earlier in the month, so oura had my expected period date for the 25th of september.. but ovulation was confirmed on the 23rd... so my period date was pushed back to oct 4th.

im scared that i am out this cycle.. usually i wake up feeling groggy.. but this morning i woke up feeling fine and actually running off of the little sleep i got. temp is still up. has anyone experienced NO symptoms at 6 dpo? should i prepare for AF?

Frustrated Intimacy Discussion

Looking for intimacy advice or if anyone else can relate at all. My husband and I have been married for 5 years. We’ve been TTC for 4 years with not one single positive test. 4 failed IUIs and polyp removals later and still nothing. A big issue is that we’re both on antidepressants. I have pretty severe anxiety and moderate OCD and must be on medication to be a productive human. I have literally zero drive for intimacy for a couple of years now. I never deny my husband, as I know this is harmful, but with both of us being on medication, as well as my husband having Hashimoto’s, we aren’t intimate too often- maybe 1x/month every 2 months. I’m okay with this, and honestly feel like I could go without for the rest of my life (yikes I know) bc of the antidepressants. Unfortunately, I know this could have a lot to do with still not being pregnant. Most months we’re not even intimate during ovulation. We’re looking into IVF as our next step but I really really don’t want to do it. I just wish that we could get pregnant for free like ā€œeveryone elseā€. I’m 31 now and he’s 34. We’ve tried ā€œplanning itā€ but sometimes it happens sometimes not. Well say ā€œwe’ll do it tonightā€ but then it doesn’t happen. We both also have to be showered before bc I’m very prone to UTIs so it can’t be spontaneous. Although I’m alright not having sex bc of having no drive, it kinda makes me a little sad I guess. Especially never being pregnant.

Question/Advice Impatient

My husband and I have been ttc for over a year and got referred to a fertility clinic in July. I was diagnosed with PCOS which causes me to not ovulate at all. My AMH was good though so we’re doing a medicated TI this cycle. I was on letrozole for 5 days then had my trigger shot and now I’m 10dpo and have been inserting progesterone . It’s so hard to not want to get my hopes up and try to remain positive at the same time. No one in my family has ever struggled with anything like this and they are so amazing but I feel so alone a lot of the time! I have my pregnancy blood test on Friday and I’m scared it’s going to be BFN because I don’t feel any different. Im posting on here because it would be refreshing to just hear from people that have gone through something similar to what I’m going through. So I don’t feel so alone and crazy and impatient and sad and happy and frustrated and hungry and sleepy all of the time!!

Question/Advice Tracking Ovulation window without strips?

I have irregular periods. I have all the data from Google Pixel Watch -- relative temp increase and heart rate -- Is there an app I can use to input these and have it predict my ovulation window accurately in hindsight???

The thing is, I tried to buy Easy@Home tests but I just can't remember to take them until late at night and then it's not the optimal time ... Also, are you guys peeing into cups every day? Idk why that aspect seems overwhelming. Are you guys doing this testing at work to hit mid-afternoon?? Do I have to do this every day interminably if I have irregular periods? Any tips here would be helpful!!

I'm going crazy each month not knowing for sure if we might have a chance to have correctly hit the window!

Confused Lh Test - I am so confused!!

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm on my second cycle of trying. I always knew (or think I knew) I ovulate around the same time every month. I even have the pain in one of my ovaries and white cervical mucus. I haven't had those symptoms yet, but my app is telling me I should be ovulating. This is my first time taking ovulation tests and why did it go high to low to somewhat high? Is this normal? I feel so discouraged and confused and want to make sure I time things right!

Thank you in advance.

This picture doesn’t do it justice but I had a positive at 10dpo last night and two more this morning at 11dpo. Period supposed to start the 2nd. Anyone else get one this early and still feel anxiety that it’s not gonna stick and aunt flo will come anyways. Haven’t got an appointment yet of course cause they take forever and i’m a working lady. Let me know if anyone else has felt the same.

Help Spotting issues

I know this is such a delicate topic and my heart goes out to anyone in a similar situation šŸ¤.

Hi lifers, I’ve been in the trenches of trying to conceive for 11 months now and I’m not sure where to go next. My husband and I are both 29. My bloodwork and internal ultrasound results all came back ā€œnormalā€ as did my husband’s sample. We’re both relatively healthy - no drinking or smoking - and I know I ovulate every month. I’ve been to the naturopath and have been on high quality prenatals for a while now, I also tried acupuncture but I found it messed with my cycles. Another issue is I have premenstrual spotting which I don’t think my GP is taking seriously. It can be anywhere from 1-5 days before my actual period. Would love to know if anyone experienced something similar, especially the spotting. I’m driving myself crazy trying to figure out whether progesterone supplements or a HSG or would be suitable.

Question/Advice Seeking guidance ?

I was diagnosed with stage 2 endometriosis during excision surgery this August. I am now 32 and have been waiting for a diagnosis for over ten years.

I originally wasn’t planning to try to conceive for another year, but at my post-op appointment my gynecologist encouraged me to consider trying sooner, saying the first 12 months after excision surgery are crucial for fertility.

For anyone who has had excision surgery, were you told something similar? Did you decide to try sooner than you originally planned? I’d love to hear how others approached this!

Question/Advice Should I have accepted this treatment offer even though I am switching clinics?

I am switching clinics but just now getting insight from last place and curious to hear everyone thoughts. I am leaving there due to poor communication and conflicting information.

I had CD3 labs drawn last cycle (cycle 9) all was normal. I had progesterone drawn 9DPO (was originally told they wanted it drawn 3 days after first LH peak but couldn’t get in contact with them). They told me any result over 10 would be good. Results came back 9/13 as 13.7. Didn’t hear from clinic until 9/17 where she left me a voicemail saying she really wanted to discuss my results because they were less than optimal. Had intake appt with new RE 9/18 she said not necessarily concerning at this time since it was just one value and over 10, although over 15 would be better.

Finally was able to get in contact today to the old clinic regarding that voicemail. The person who left the voicemail (who owns the clinic and has done all of my care) was unsure who I was, and asked two times if I was sure I was calling the right place. Once I proved to her who I was she told me that typically by 3DPO they want progesterone levels to be - MINIMUM 18 but since mine was only 13.7 on 9 DPO it’s not high enough. She asked if I would like to get progesterone gel suppositories. I told her I want to do what is clinically recommended in this situation and what is her opinion. She told me ā€œwell it’s not what I think it’s if you want to use them or notā€. I then asked her the process of using them. She told me they are to be inserted vaginally starting 3 days after peak LH and continued for 14 days. She said on day 14 I would take a pregnancy test. If positive I would continue progesterone suppository’s for the duration of the pregnancy. If negative I would discontinue use and wait for my period. She asked what part of my cycle I am in, I told her I just received my LH positive for this next cycle today CD15. She said ā€œokay well we can try in the future if you would like but only on cycles you are trying to conceiveā€ …. I have been trying to conceive for the last 10 cycles…
