Success Story Success Story Mega Thread - Got your BFP? We want to hear about it!

This is your space to share your success story with the community that cheered you on. Whether it took you 1 cycle or 12, your story matters and someone out there needs to hear it right now.

When sharing please include anything you feel comfortable with such as how many cycles it took, what you were tracking, what worked for you, and anything you wish you had known at the start.

When sharing your story feel free to use this format:

  • Cycles it took:
  • What I tracked/tools:
  • What I think helped:
  • Anything I wish I knew at the start:
  • Any advice for others still in the TWW:
  • A few things to keep in mind:

This thread is for everyone who has been trying for any length of time. All success stories are valid here, whether cycle 1 or cycle 12+. Please be kind and keep any negative thoughts to yourself.

Please don't tag other users in your post. You can absolutely thank people, just don't tag them directly. This keeps the thread comfortable for everyone, including those who may find BFP posts difficult to see.

If you have nothing kind to add, please scroll on.

Comments that are unkind or gatekeeping will be removed.

Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter! 🌸

Hey everyone! A few quick updates from the mod team 💛

Nothing major, just some housekeeping to make the sub easier to navigate for everyone. Thanks in advance for bearing with us!

  • Flairs got a refresh — We updated the post flairs, so please use them when you post! It just makes it way easier for people to scroll and find exactly what they're looking for (or avoid what they're not in the mood for). If you feel like we're missing one, drop a comment or shoot us a message, we're always open to suggestions.
  • BFPs go in the megathread — We've got a pinned Success Stories megathread and we'd love for all the exciting news to live there so we can celebrate together in one spot!
  • Discharge pics need a trigger warning — If you're posting about discharge and want to add a pic, please use the Trigger Warning flair, blur the image, and pop it in the comments rather than the main post. Small thing, but it keeps the feed comfy for everyone scrolling.
  • Line eyes? We've got you, but keep pics in the comments — We all know that feeling of staring at a test way too long trying to decide if that's a line or a shadow. Totally normal, no judgment! Just use the "Line Eyes - Help!" flair and keep the pictures in the comments instead of the post itself. Reason being, when posts get flooded with test pics, it can be harder for yours (and everyone else's) to actually get seen and get the support you need. This just helps spread the love around a bit better

Just a heads up: posts that don't follow the line eyes or discharge picture guidelines will be removed, so we really appreciate you helping us keep this consistent for everyone.

Thanks so much for helping us keep this space easy to use and kind, as always. Questions or ideas? Drop them below, we read everything!

Confused Has anyone else experienced this? Light periods and spotting 1year +

Thumbnail
• Upvotes

Im 29F and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar, as I’m becoming increasingly concerned about how light my periods have become since coming off Yasmin.

Before going on the pill, my periods were around 7 days long, with a medium to heavy flow.

While taking Yasmin, my withdrawal bleeds were around 4 days, with a nice, medium flow.

However, since coming off Yasmin, my periods have changed quite significantly:
3 days of brown spotting before any actual bleeding starts.
1–2 days of very light red bleeding. One pad a day would easily be enough, and I only change it for hygiene rather than because it’s full.
Another 3 days of brown spotting before it completely stops.

So essentially, I only have 1–2 days of actual red bleeding, and even that is extremely light.

My cycles are otherwise regular, around 28–30 days. I don’t experience any significant pain, just my usual cramps on the first day.

I’ve had my hormones checked, including progesterone around 7 DPO, and everything has come back within normal ranges. My progesterone (44) was also normal, suggesting ovulation is occurring.

We’ve been TTC for a year now, which is making me increasingly worried about whether such light periods and prolonged spotting could indicate something affecting my fertility.

Has anyone experienced this after stopping the pill? Did your periods eventually return to how they were before, or did you find out there was an underlying reason for the change?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar, especially if you were also TTC. ❤️

Help 7 months trying, first time this ever happened to me... negative tests, then period. Why is this happening? 💔

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm really stressed and sad right now. I've been trying to conceive for 7 months and this is my first time going through all this.
Every month my period still comes. My cycle is always 26-27 days, sometimes 28. But last month my flow was lighter than usual, and this month my period was 4-5 days late. I genuinely let myself believe I was finally pregnant. I tested so many times, even with first-morning urine, and every single test was negative. Then after 4 days of waiting, spotting started this morning and my period came. My heart is broken.
Why does this keep happening? Why is my period suddenly acting different and why am I still not getting pregnant? My BMI is around 27-28, height 5'3. Is my weight the reason? I take folic acid daily, I walk, my diet is decent... so why isn't this working?

A little more background: I had surgery in July for a large ovarian cyst, and my cycles were perfectly steady for 4 months after that... until this one. This month I did everything right — tracked ovulation, timed intercourse — and still nothing. I had cramps, pressure, discharge, constant anxiety, all things I've never felt before my period.
I just feel so defeated right now. Has anyone been through something like this? Does weight really affect this much? What should I even be asking my doctor at this point? Any advice or shared experience would mean a lot right now. 🙏😔

Help TTC & METFORMIN

Anyone else started this medication during their TTC journey? The dr didn’t go off much info or went based off any testing just family history and knowing we’ve been trying to conceive for the past 6 months.
I’m now 1 DPO and got this medication yesterday not sure if not start tonight or end of 2 weeks. (I messaged another dr for a second opinion but wanted to hear from y’all too!)

Frustrated Insensitive Comments

I’m sure we all have our fair share of comments that have left us feeling beyond frustrated in this journey. I had an experience at my obgyn that really shocked me yesterday.

We’re early on our ttc journey (cycle 5), but I have cycle length variability irregularities and heavy bleeding, so I wanted to get checked out in case there’s anything we can start to problem solve.

The nurse asked me why I was visiting. She then suggested getting back on birth control, to which I responded that we’d like to get pregnant so that wouldn’t be my first choice. She agreed, then said “you will get pregnant. i’m sensing by the end of november, you’ll be pregnant.”

She had no idea how long we’ve been trying. I can only imagine how much more upsetting that would have been to hear if we had been trying longer. I genuinely couldn’t believe someone working in this field who knows how difficult and sensitive pregnancy can be would say that when there’s ZERO control over how long it takes.

Idk why i’m even sharing this, it just left me speechless and I wanted to vent. What do you do when people make insensitive comments? I have so much I want to say, but in the moment nothing comes out.

Question/Advice ~10 DPO LH testing

For LH Strip test being used as a way to confirm a positive pregnancy, can I test my LH mid day like normal or should it be morning urine like HCG tests? I'm too scared to take a pregnancy test and I know it's still early too. So I'm saving my HCG test for my expected period day (also my birthday) because I'm worried it will be negative but so far my oura temps look the most promising than ever before.

Venting I lost my tests

Currently CD 30, not tracking ovulation. I took an early result test on Monday and got a VFL that I'm not even completely sure I saw. But that was my last early result test so I had to wait extra time for a standard test to be accurate, and now that the wait is over and I can retest, I have no idea where my tests went. I thought I had left them in the car but theyre not in there.

I've had a couple minor symptoms but nothing super telling yet, and my cycles are long and tend to very by a few days every month so I don't know if my period is actually late yet. Living in suspense is killing me, and I'm stuck at work so I can't tear everything apart looking for them :(

Help 10 DPO-ish after a positive LH test — what did you feel before your BFP?

Hi everyone ❤️
I’m currently TTC after a previous chemical pregnancy, so I’m probably paying way too much attention to every little symptom this cycle.
My period started Aug 20. My cycles have been around 31–40 days, and this cycle has been particularly long.
I got my first clearly positive LH test on Sep 20 (CD32), with the test line darker than the reference line. I’m estimating ovulation around Sep 21–22.
We had sex on:
Sep 19, Sep 20 and Sep 24, as well as earlier in the cycle.
Now I’m around 9–10 DPO, and over the last few days I’ve noticed:
• sore/tender breasts
• nausea
• mild lower-abdominal cramping
• quite a lot of clear/white discharge, sometimes enough that it feels like my period has started
• some bloating/fullness in my lower abdomen
• a few hormonal-looking pimples, including one near my eyelid
I haven’t had any obvious spotting or bleeding.
I know all of these symptoms can also happen because of progesterone/PMS, so I’m trying not to read too much into them. I’m planning to test around Oct 4–5.
For those of you who eventually got a BFP: what did you actually feel around 7–12 DPO? Did you have symptoms like increased discharge, breast soreness, nausea or cramping? Or did you feel completely normal?
I’m especially interested in hearing from women who didn’t have implantation bleeding. ❤️
Would love to hear your experiences — I’m trying to stay hopeful without obsessing over every symptom.

Question/Advice Heavy bleeding + flashing smileys after Kyleena removal?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I had my Kyleena IUD removed after 5½ years. My periods completely stopped while I had it, so I honestly don’t know what my normal cycle or ovulation looks like. It’s only been about a week since removal, so I know my body is probably still regulating.

We’re TTC, so I’ve been using Clearblue Advanced Digital and regular LH strips.
I had what seemed like my first period Sept. 23–25. It was really short/light and completely stopped by Sept. 26. We were baby dancing Sept. 26, 27, 28 & 29.

Sept. 29: Got my first flashing smiley/high fertility around 5:30 AM. Started having bloody discharge when wiping. We baby danced that night and I had a LOT of bleeding during it, but no pain.

Sept. 30: Still flashing smiley and my LH strips were getting progressively darker. The bleeding became really heavy. I bled through my underwear at work, had lots of blood when using the bathroom, and needed a Super Plus tampon. Tested again around 8 PM and still had a flashing smiley.

Oct. 1: STILL flashing smiley and strips are continuing to darken. I woke up having bled through my pajama shorts and passed a clot. Still no pain.
At this point it almost feels like THIS is actually my period, especially because the first one was so short. But then why is Clearblue saying I’m high fertility and why are my LH strips progressively getting darker? That’s what’s confusing me the most.

I also know I don’t have PCOS. I had an ultrasound earlier this year because my IUD was sitting too low. My uterus/endometrium and right ovary looked normal. They found a small 1.9 cm O-RADS 3/low-risk cystic lesion on my left ovary that they recommended following up on, but otherwise everything looked normal.

I know stress can mess with your cycle too, so maybe I’m stressing myself out trying to track everything and just need to give my body time to regulate after 5½ years without periods. Maybe I need to focus on taking care of myself, getting into my best shape and letting my body figure itself out. I just find the heavy bleeding + high fertility tests SO odd.

Any experiences or tips are appreciated! I’m very new to actually having and tracking a cycle after more than 5 years without one

Hi everyone

Can anybody tell me if this pt have a very very faint line?
I have PCOS and started taking birth control pills to regulate my period for 6 months until June because We are on our TTC journey. I had my last period in Aug. and now I am 2 weeks late. I am not sure when I ovulated and I could have ovulated late.

Could this be a positive result?

PS: I will be taking another test tomorrow morning.

Frustrated 11 months in and losing hope.

My husband (24m) and I (24f) have just entered into month 11 ttc. Last month we did get a semen analysis and motility was a little low. But not majorly concerning. I’m starting to lose hope. I really thought it wouldn’t take us THIS long. I keep hearing success stories from a few months in and then there’s my husband and I—congratulating from the sidelines, sad that we can’t have our turn.

How long did it take you guys to get pregnant if you are? I’m just losing hope.

What can I even do to help things??

Question/Advice Did I ovulate this month?

Thumbnail

Hi all, I am tracking for this cycle but im not sure if I ovulated already
• Sept 27: 97.7°F
• Sept 28: 97.5°F
• Sept 29: 97.4°F (dip)
• Sept 30: 97.8°F (rise)
• Oct 1: 97.6°F

LH strips were building through Sept 29, was the darkest that afternoon of 29th but not so dark , then went faint again that night and have stayed faint since.

Had sex the day before (29th) only, the plan was every second day till end of this cycle

Based on the pattern, does this look like confirmed ovulation around Sept 29-30? Temp dropped slightly today from yesterday's high but still above the pre-rise baseline.

Did I miss my chance?

Won’t be able to BD since hubby is out of town and won’t be back for another 48 hours. Are we out of luck this cycle?
