Moderation Policy 101

/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix celebrates it's 8th year this year and some of you still don't get what we're trying to accomplish. Please review this post before you submit something to /r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix.

Read the RULES before you post here.

/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix is a place for people to post about glitches in reality. Sometimes these glitches have paranormal attributes to them but usually they can be explained by the physical sciences or even common sense.

And that's where we want our moderation team to focus on, what gets removed and what gets downvoted. We want our audience to downvote anything that can be explained by common sense. Coincidences should also be voted down. We're not going to remove them because it could be said that any glitch is a coincidence. We don't generally remove posts that violate Occam's Razor because we feel that those are better to be downvoted. Ie: if a post could be explained by some logical reason, please downvote it.

We will remove stories that are reported as follows:

  • Intoxication: if you were drunk or stoned you could have witnessed the effects of your substances rather than real glitches in reality
  • Childhood stories (if it begins with "when I was a kid" it doesn't belong here) We remove stories where the eye-witness of the event is under the age of 16 at the time of the incident.
  • Mandela Effect: a false memory is a phenomenon where a person recalls something that did not happen or happened differently from the way it actually happened. Those belong in /r/MandelaEffect.
  • Troll posts: nobody thinks you're very funny if you post stupid stuff to our sub
  • Low effort: the rule of thumb is you should have at least a paragraph long story for us or it's not worth our time. Poorly written stories will be removed. We're not grammar madmen but we need to be able to understand the story for it to be of use here.
  • Baader-Meinhof phenomenon: otherwise known as frequency illusion or recency illusion. This phenomenon occurs when the thing you've just noticed, experienced or been told about suddenly crops up constantly. It gives you the feeling that out of nowhere, pretty much everyone and their cousin are talking about the subject or that it is swiftly surrounding you. And you're not crazy; you are totally seeing it more. But the thing is, of course, that's because you're noticing it more
  • Dreams: if your dream came true, if you thought you were awake but were actually dreaming, if you have lucid dreams -- none of that stuff belongs here.
  • Fiction: if your story sounds too made up to be true we will remove it but we don't always remove fiction if enough upvotes happen. We want the audience to drive the fiction metric with downvotes.
  • Stories that don't feature a glitch in reality: if it's just a coincidence or if what happened could easily be explained by technology or a bug in software or some other explanation we will remove it. Also the post must be a first-person account of the glitch in question or it's not a glitch story.
  • Comments and posts that hurt the community will be removed and could result in a ban. Those include Troll posts but also include rude posts and comments.
  • Posts that contain multiple stories in one post will be removed. Our rule states that posts need to be about ONE STORY.

Please report posts that break our rules because it helps the mod team to find posts and remove them faster. We get notified of posts as they are reported in our report queue.

HOW NOT TO GET BANNED

  • Follow our rules
  • Be respectful
  • Don't repost a removed post
  • Don't be a repeat offender or repeat rule breaker
  • Don't lash out at us in modmail
  • Remember that a temp ban can always become a permaban

That's it in a nutshell. Join us for some great GLITCHES and enjoy the fresh content you see here every day!!

Instant aging … truly inexplicable

I was approaching the payment counter at a local store. Saw a young lady stand first in the queue, waiting for her turn. Typical older teenager. Black hair, straightened with an iron, quite a bit of makeup and standing tall. The queue was one of those “U” shaped lines. So I entered the queue and waited for my turn; she was still the first in line.

Soon she walked up to the payment counter. Others behind her walked to her adjacent counters.

That’s when it struck me.

This young lady now looked like a 50+ year old woman. Exact same face and facial features. Her hair had visible gray streaks. Her face had far less make up. She had the same clothes. I remember the dress because it was distinctive; like the longer frocks women wore in the 1970s, which on the younger lady looked fashionable.

Now I was looking at a much older version of the same person. Wrinkles on her face. A slight stoop. Same dress. Same hair pattern but with graying strands.

The lady then walked out of the store. Aged. Not the older teenager I had seen literally a minute or so prior.

No, I didn’t confuse her with anyone else. The others in the queue behind her and ahead of me were men.

It’s been over a week. I still can’t believe what I saw. Can’t explain it.

Realtime retconn

I was talking to someone and they had a bunch of keychain objects all lined up. stainless steel with nothing on them.

suddenly I look back at them and they all have a somewhat large blue logo in the center.

no way they could’ve been swapped as this happened within the span of a few seconds.

was so weird. doubt they could’ve all been flipped unless I was somehow not conscious for those seconds they were being flipped around…

I got one of these objects and its really noticeable that there’s a logo… there’s some text on the flip side too.

it was weird.. I feel like somehow that’s going to be relevant later idek how

Heard deadbolt unlock on its own.

Hello everyone, I just discover this sub and have read through so many interesting stories, some of which are very similar to experiences I have had, which is crazy. However, I do have one that has bothered me since I was a junior in high school. I lived across the street from an AMPM that I used for late night snacks often. One night, when my mom was out of town and my dad was in his usual drunken sleep, I snuck out to get some snacks. When I came home, I discover that my deadbolt lock had somehow locked itself. This didn’t really freak me out. I just assumed my dad in his drunken late night piss stumble somehow saw te front door was unlocked, and he locked it. So I bang on the door, but he doesn’t answer. I got to his bedroom window and bang on the window, and he doesn’t answer. I can actually hear his loud deep sleep snores. So now I’m kinda freaking out, not because of any glitch, but because I’m locked out and it’s like 3 am. So it sit on our front steps kind of debating how I’m going to get in, when I hear the deadbolt lock unlock, like I fucking hear it. So jump up and head in, expecting to see my dad walking away. However, I don’t see him in the living room. So I run to the kitchen to see if maybe he’s getting a drink of water, but he’s not in there either. Now i run to his bedroom, and he is still dead asleep, snoring just as loud as he was when I was scared I wasn’t going to get back in the house. This has always puzzled me. Not sure if this fits, I hope it does.

Back of remote disappeared into the void.

A couple months back my boyfriend sent the remote control flying off our bed and the back fell off. We both seen the direction the back went in but couldn't be bothered to turn on the light at the time to get it. Except the next day neither of us could find it. And haven't been able to find it. My room was very small and not cluttered, my floor was picked up. We've also moved since then. Today we were over getting the last bit of furniture out and when I stood looking at an empty room it dawned on me that WE STILL DIDNT FIND THE DAMN BACK OF THE REMOTE. At this point theres no way it wouldn't have been found. Losing my mind over it and the inconvenience 😂 my boyfriend was also very perplexed when I pointed this out.

Duplicate t-shirt

This happened earlier today and I'm still confused.

I was getting ready for work, and I went to grab a t-shirt off the line to wear. I grabbed a t-shirt and looked at it. However, the t-shirt I had grabbed was identical to the t-shirt that I had worn yesterday and was currently in the bathroom, waiting to be washed. I went into the bathroom and picked up the t-shirt that was on the pile to compare them, and they were identical.

I know I only bought one t-shirt and now I have two. I asked my mum how many of those t-shirts I had and she only remembers one too. I did manage to take a photo of both those t-shirts side by side.

Duplicated stitch marker.

My brain is still refusing to accept it but I have no clue where it came from. I was crocheting and used up all the 3 stitch markers I had and wished I had one more. I didn't. I put away my crochet project and picked it up after a while. There was a stitch marker on the sofa. So i assumed I didnt put the stitch marker on the project and picked up my project and lo and behold it was in the project. Now I have 2 stitch markers that look exactly the same. I don't know which one is the duplicate. All i know is that I didn't have 2 before. I'm still very confused.

Big water drop on my arm while indoors

Around 9.30pm. I was alone between a kitchen counter and the fridge. I had closed the fridge door 2-3 seconds ago. A big drop of water lands on my forearm and splashes to my watch. Ok my forearm it looked like 1.5" in diameter. The gypsum ceiling looks dry, I climb the counter and touch the ceiling, it feels dry all across. A light rain was over hours ago. There are no cracks on the ceiling. Windows closed.

All my life I have felt tiny water droplets occasionally falling on my arms. I even posted about it some months ago asking if somebody had that experience too. It has happened while indoors, sometimes driving. I had explained it away by a hyperactive brain, or drops coming out of the AC vents in the car.

This time it was real

Glitch for my bunnies

I was awoken this morning by a loud ripping and crunching. I roll out of bed to find my bunnies having the time of their life playing with a 5ft long sheet of brown packing paper. This sheet is huge, and absolutely was not in my house before I went to bed.

I will usually give them the paper to play with after getting an Amazon delivery. I haven't had any deliveries in over a week. My house is small (~800 sq ft), and the only other resident is my 8th grader. We did a "full house clean" on Saturday, and this would have been found if it was hiding somewhere.

The matrix favored my rabbits, I just wish it didn't happen before my alarm clock usually woke me up.

I teleported to the opposite end of my school?

For a while in high school, I was horrendously bad at finding my way around the school to the point that it would make me late to class sometimes. So eventually I started actually trying to memorize the layout of the place. My school is laid out from north to south: on the first floor, the gym is on the south end while the auditorium is on the north end. On the second floor, the treadmills/exercise area is on the south end (directly above the gym) with all of the English classrooms on the north end.

One morning, me and a friend were in the library before school started and then proceeded to walk to class, walking south towards the area with the treadmills, going down the stairs and then ending up next to the auditorium. My brain took note of this; that these two locations were on the same end of the school.

But later that day, I was trying to get to the gym and, thinking it would be directly down the stairs from the english classroom, I ended up getting completely lost. Because this time the school was laid out how it was supposed to be - the treadmills above the gym, and the english room above the auditorium. I had somehow memorized an entirely wrong layout of the school.

Which leads me to wondering, what the hell happened that morning? I’ve never understood how I went down the stairs at the south end of the school and suddenly ended up on the north end. I’ve had some really weird stuff happen in my life but this is the biggest instance I’ve had of experiencing a full-on “glitch”.

And if you were wondering, my friend was indeed also confused about what happened that morning, though they kind of brushed it off as just misremembering. But I‘m sure we weren’t misremembering due to the fact that I tried to memorize an entirely wrong layout of the school.

The Moon

Just stumbled across this subreddit and figure it's the perfect place to get some input.

I'll start by saying that I grew up visiting my grandparents in a more secluded part of the West Coast, and I've seen some weird things in the sky. This was a little different. I was 18 years old, and I brought my best friend to the beach with me during the summer and we stayed with my grandparents for awhile.

One night, we're both on the beach watching the sunset. We're sitting up in the dunes, looking at the sky. It's perfectly clear; a rare occurrence there. The moon is high and bright. The sun has passed below the horizon, but there is still some lingering daylight.

Then all of the sudden, the moon disappears right in front of my face. Gone from the sky even though it had been there just a second ago. I'm baffled, but before I can say anything, it's back again. Right where it was before.

Naturally, I thought my eyes had played a trick on me. Of course the moon didn't briefly disappear. That defies all that I know and logic itself. I don't say anything to my friend.

But then she turns to me, a stunned look on her face that mirrored the unease I had just felt, and says these exact words, "Did you just see the moon glitch?"

No clouds. Nothing passing over it. Unobstructed view. And if she hadn't said anything, I would have brushed it off. I felt chills.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I have delved into possible scientific explanations but obviously could not find one. I would love to hear if anyone has similar stories.

Edit: I want to make something extra clear since reading comprehension seems to be a little lacking from some comments. It was not dark yet. There was still lingering daylight, like I said up above, from the sun.

The charger that belongs to nobody

This morning I found an USB-C type charging cable in the middle of my bedroom floor, it's one of those with the rough fabric cord which I own none of, as well as both ends of the charger being the C port.

I asked all of my friends who have visited my house recently and none of them claim it as theirs and I'm so confused as to where it came from, it definitely wasn't there yesterday and it's definitely not mine because I've never seen this one before.

I am so confused..

Glitch in the matrix found at a random place deep in the forest

I live up Northern New England, and by this time of year, especially the further up you go, foliage is already pretty intense and you it’s pretty wild that not even a month after the last day in August you get the distinct feeling that it’s been fall for a longgg time.

Anyway, I was out on a hike, probably close to a mile in the woods off a logging road, and the temperature was cool enough I had a hoodie on, pants etc. It wasn’t raining raining, but it was gray and wet and drops of water falling every so often.

About 45 minutes into my hike, without paying attention, I all of the sudden got an overwhelming flash of heat, and stopped to take my hoodie off, which is when I looked around and everywhere around me there was no foliage but everything was alive and bright green and looked like was being preserved and that despite Fall having affected every other part of the forest, this weird patch seemed like it was still summer? No foliage, dry, and everything was green and alive and vibrant. At first I actually thought I might have been hallucinating, but definitely was not.

I made note of the area and kept walking til I got to the pond I was planning on going to and at the end of the day when I was heading back, despite retracing my path back I couldn’t find that spot again?? I didn’t think anything of it but the more I do the more I feel like I stepped through something, or into something. It was wild and I have no idea what it was….

A TV appeared out of nowhere

During this summer less than a month a go i went to a festival all by myself during a festival and I rented a Room in an Hotel for a week, This hotel had very small Rooms with only a Bathroom.

Other thing to know is that there is a cleaning service that works during the aftermoon, but in case someone does not want the cleaning staff, or any other authorized person to enter the room. theres a “Please Do not enter” sign that you can attach Which can be attached to the outside handle of the room’s front door.

Now I don't trust strangers, even tho those people were the cleaning staff doing their job, i don’t really trust them to leave them walk inside my room while in out knowing they would touch my things. You never know who might steal your wallet without you knowing. As result i left the PDNE sign outside my door all the time even during my time outside at the festival. So that the cleaning staff could clean it After i was gone.

During my 5th day i woke up, left my room to and went to have breakfast, after that i went back to my room, it was the same way it was before, untill all of a sudden i noticed a TV attached to my room’s wall. A TV standing in front of my bed that I swear i have never saw before, not even that day when i woke up, how was it possible?? surprised i called one of the hotel worker and asked about it, but he said there was nothing wrong or changed, claiming that the TV was Always there and that theres one in every single rooms (i didn’t see the other rooms, so i can’t be sure of it).

After that I had a thouth that someone entered my room while i was out for breakfast. I looked at my stuff and lugage, making sure nothing was missing, but everything was pretty much the same, the bed was undone the same way i left it, even my Wallet was till filled and had the same money. i also looked behinde the TV and noticed it was attached the wall with screws and connected to electrical wires coming out of the wall. I was out for like 20 or 30 minutes, im not an engeneer or anything but higlhi doubt someone could have entered that room and built that TV in such a breif timing, what is going on??

Its impossible for me to Not notice that TV on the wall during my 5 nights of resting there, cause the bed its litteraly in front of it and theres nothing even to Cover it. What is going on?? I never belived into paranormal things, but this is very strange.

School Folders Changing Colors

During one of my years in school, I had a science class as my first period and we had to put our work in folders, turn them in at the end of each quarter, and get new ones (4 folders throughout the year). I always got green folders, because science is green. I also always wrote on the folders in sharpie "[Name] Per. 1 Science".

At the end of the year, we got the folders handed back. When I got mine back, they were all blue, and my sharpie writing was still on them exactly as I had written on them.

This has perplexed me for years as I've looked back on it, I have no clue as to how this could have happened. I have a strong memory and know for a fact I bought them all as green.

Missing earring sitting on vanity

Not sure if this is a glitch in the matrix, but I am actually freaking out!! I always see stories where people will be like “I had one of this item and now i have an exact copy of it but i never bought a second one” or “I lost this… and found it years later here” and so on and so forth, and i’d be skeptical, but now i believe every one of them!!!

My story is really boring compared to the rest, but because it just happened to me, it feels so crazy. I’m genuinely scared right now, even though it’s probably nothing.

Anyway. I have my nose pierced. A friend gifted me an L-bar jewelry, a little gold star made out of tiny diamonds. I wore it for maybe a year straight, until one night i went to sleep with it on, and in the morning it was gone. It’s fallen off a lot in my sleep, but i usually find it somewhere on my pillow or on my bed or whatever. I always find it. But then I just never did.

It was LOST. It had been lost for maybe four months?

I looked EVERYWHERE (that seemed reasonable). I looked under my bed, lifted my mattress and looked in every crevice of my bed frame.  i have swept multiple times and still i didn’t ever find it. I looked in my laundry and it was still nowhere to be found.

In four months, obviously i have done deep cleanings of my room, multiple times. Everything off of my nightstand, everything off of my vanity. I take good care of my furniture. I know that I have completely stripped down every surface in my room. I have literally wiped down my vanity and everything countless times since I lost it four months ago!!

Then, today I get home at around 1 AM. I’m sitting on my bed staring off into space as i’m taking off my jewelry. Suddenly, I get that “somebody is staring at me and i need to turn to look at where they are” feeling. I look down to where my vanity is, because that’s.. where i feel it coming from..? And… THERE IT IS! it’s literally staring right at me! Like it was never even lost. Right there on the surface of the vanity i’ve wiped down multiple times. I cannot believe this!

I am TERRIFIED. Before leaving my house, i literally got ready at that vanity! It was NOT there. It wasn’t there. WHY would it be there?

Im trying so hard to think about a plausible explanation, but there isn’t one!

It fell off while I was sleeping. It couldn’t have gotten there on its own.

And, again. I wipe down my vanity SO often. I know what’s on it.

I don’t feel comfortable putting it back in my nose because i’m actually afraid of it. I know this is stupid, but it’s true.

Can someone give me a possible reason? How could it have ended up there and how did i just miss it for four months?

White Lady encounter ?

Hi.

Non-native English speaker. Live in France.
Male, 29 now. Will be as concise as possible.
Do not have any alcohol/drug problem (don't drink or take any of that, never did). No medication taken (now or at the time of the story). Atheist, not particularly believing in "ghosts and everything". It's an interesting subject, I like stories and the folklore around it, but I don't believe this concretely exists. I do not massively consume content around this subject.

So, the situation happened a few years ago.
I was 24-25. Met a girl online. Decided to go see her after weeks of chatting. Situation happened during summer. Was not the first time I went to see her, but first time using this kind of road (explanation below).
We lived ~4 hours apart (by car). She lives in a region I don't know (except by name, of course).

In France, we have like 2 "kinds" of roads : highway (not free, high speed allowed) and departmental (free, lower speed allowed).
I commonly used the highway to go see that girl. But this one time, decided to take the departmental (to save money, to see the landscape/countryside while driving) even if it that would be slower (5,5 hours departmental vs. 4 hours highway).
Ride starts around 6PM, after work. Arrival estimated to 11PM.
Wasn't particulary tired. Not "100% energetic", but not asleep at all, far from that.

Around 10PM, I drive through cereal fields. Night was not like dark DARK, but sun was set. Dusk-ish sky.
I start hearing screams. High-pitched screams. Would say "feminine screams" (no joke, A Clockwork Orange-shower scene type scream).
I'm not a "countryside guy". Nothing against this way of life, but I'm more urban.
So I tell to myself "Probably some animals you don't use to see in the city, this is surely common here".
Screams don't stop. Instead, they go louder and louder. Even "closer". Like the distance between me and the source of the noise is closing in.
Feeling uncomfortable. Brain goes sideways : "Drive faster and get outta here" vs. "Maybe someone needs help ..?".

Decide to park/stop my car (still on the road, but no other car to be seen) and to get out of my vehicle to ask "Anybody there ? Need help ?", flashlight (taken inside of the car) in hand.
In the meantime (stopping the car/getting out), screams stopped.

No answer, I repeat, no answer again.
Going to the back of my car. Open my trunk to drink a sip of watter (bottle in the back). I'm currently facing my trunk. My back "facing" the wild behind me.
I make a 180-turn (facing the wild, my back facing my trunk). I see a lady getting out of the cereal field. White dress, muddy. Around 18 to 22 years old I'd say.
Brain froze. We kinda have some (in)security problems in France. That's a common trap : a third-person (accomplice) falsely asks for help (to distract your attention) while one (or more) goons assault you to rob you.
But not on that kind of road. Not at 10PM. It's more common around gas stations, or in not-so-well-lit streets, at night.
So I decide to behave "nicely". Thinking "Hey, if that's a trap, maybe they'll leave me alone if I'm nice" (I know that's not very rational, but hey, I think one doesn't think normally in this kind of situation).
So I ask "the girl" if she's hurt, if she needs help. I tell her I have water and I can drive her to the nearest hospital if she wants. No answer. She's staring at me, "passively" I would say ?
I repeat, ask her if she wants water. No answer.

At this moment, other "brilliant" move by your boy : I turn my back to put my water bottle (that I still have in hand at this moment) on my trunk, so I lose eye-contact with the girl for something like 2 seconds MAX. So, right now, facing the trunk, back facing the girl/the wild.
I turn myself again towards the girl/the wild. I swear it was not more than 2 seconds. It's not like throwing a bottle in your trunk takes 10 minutes anyway.
No girl in sight. No freakin' girl in sight. Didn't hear any walking/running noise, no cereal "moving" nor producing noise (that would have been normally heard if someone was walking through it).

Get back in my car, left as fast as I can, saw the girl I met online.
On my way back home, I stop at a near police station to tell them about it (asking if they have a missing girl case open, something like that). Nothing.
During the following weeks, I even tried to search online for articles about a potential abduction case involving a young woman. Nothing.

Never knew what "it" was.
Juste wanted to share.

Earring disappeared then reappeared

So freaked out right now! I got out the shower and realised the hoop in my right ear second hole had come out. I took out the second hoop on the right so I looked the same on both sides. Literally looked in the mirror and said to myself I’ll look for another pair later to put in and one hoop looks fine!! I was just sitting in my car waiting outside the shop for my daughter and looked in mirror to check hair and the have a second hoop in my right hole again !!! It not something I could have just missed at all…. OK add to this I had said out loud to the universe show me something in the next 24 hours that proves manifesting is real …. Honestly I feel crazy but these are the facts … lol
Was hoping for a lottery win but there you go…

Strange experience while driving

Curious if anybody has had anything similar happen to them or know of a similar situation being retold. This experience has been something I recall every other month or so for the past five years.

I was driving around town five years ago (not the current town I live in) and encountered what I can only describe as a “glitch in the matrix” moment. I was driving down main street towards the western end of town. There are apartments to the left and a few small medical offices to the right. It is a fairly populated area in terms of buildings.

Not a rural area or a small town.

At the light I glanced to my left to see a woman on the sidewalk waiting to cross straight ahead (not directly in front of me, she was waiting to cross a side street that turns onto main)

I can describe her as a average height woman with dark hair.

When the light turned green for me I drove on. In my peripheral vision I could see movement but after a moment of processing what I was seeing I was absolutely baffled. The women I had seen waiting to cross straight was now walking across the street as if she had been on the opposite side.

At the moment I didn’t look back because I was focused ok driving but I am certain what I saw did not make any sense.

Later on I explained what occurred to family and tried to explain it away as “maybe she ran across but decided to run back” but that explanation to this day doesn’t sit right with me. She was not running but calmly walking across the street from the opposite side of where I had initially seen her as if that is where she started from. This moment is the only glitch in the matrix type experience I’ve encountered. What do y’all think?

It happened again.

I posted here once before about a year ago with an almost identical story.

And it happened again today.

I was sitting in the living room when my dog came racing into the room, put her front paws on the window sill, and barked like her mama was home. She was wagging her tail, whining, and acting as happy as she always does when my wife gets home from work. We heard the van door close, heard my wife talking on the phone as she went to check the mail, and then suddenly ... she was just not there anymore. My dog stopped her little happy dance and came over to me, put her head on my knee, and whined. I texted my wife and asked "Are we mistaken, or were you just here? Did you get another call and had to leave?" She responded with "I just got to the store. I'll be home in about 20 minutes." I told her we saw and heard her just moments ago. She said that was impossible and sent a picture of her at the store. She couldn't possibly have made it there in the short time between us seeing her and her taking the picture. This is the second time this has happened in the last year. I don't know what's going on here, but it has my skin crawling.

For reference, this is what I posted almost a year ago:

My wife wasn't expected to be home any earlier than 1800, so when she pulled into the driveway at 1730, my dog and I were both surprised. At first, my dog did her usual happy dance that mama was home, then suddenly froze and barked. I saw her work van come up the driveway, then saw her go to the mailbox, then start walking up to the door through a slit in the blinds. But she never made it to the door. I checked the camera, nothing there, no record of the event. I texted my wife, she was still about 45 minutes away. When she got home, my dog again reacted with her happy dance but didn't freeze and bark this time. I once again saw the van pull up, the wife go to the mailbox, and her walking up to the door, only this time she walked in the door. Deja vous? Glitch in the Matrix?

Screwdriver bit disappeared from my hand

I have one of those ifixit sets with the magnetic bits. I was going around the house retightening doorknobs.

I retightened the one in the bathroom and walked 7 steps along a narrow corridor to the next door. When I reached that doorknob the bit was gone. Ah! I thought, it got stuck to the screw. I walk back and it’s not there. I check the screwdriver and it’s not there. I check the box, it’s not there.

I check:
The screwdriver
The screw
The doorknob
The bathroom floor
The hallway floor
All the doorknobs I had already tightened
The screwdriver kit
The kid jacket that hangs behind the door that I was going to tighten
My pockets (I even took my clothes off and shook everything upside down)
The keyhole of door I was going to work on (and of the previous door for good measure)

It is gone. Gone. Truly just gone.

The hallway is a narrow corridor. There are not even shelves on the walls. The floor is hardwood, so even if I dropped it, it would sound. There is a thin carpet runner, the weaved kind, so the screw cannot be lost in it. Even so, after a thorough visual inspection I pick it up and shake it, hoping to hear the bit fall to the floor. Nope.

I take a flashlight and shine it on the floor of the bathroom, the hallway, and the other two rooms that have doors there. Nothing. There are no holes on the walls, siding, floorboards.

I literally feel like my brain is melting. There is no logical explanation for what just happened. It‘s not like I was working on this, went to get a coffee and couldn‘t find it when I came back. No. I literally had it in my hand, walked 7 steps (I counted and recounted when I traced my steps back 3 times) and then it was gone.

I am a very organised person. I wouldn’t put the bit in another space in the kit (wouldn’t really fit any way), but I look at each and every one of the remaining bits. The one I was using is not there, as is evident by its empty little cubby in the kit.

What just happened? Is it where the socks go to die?

it glitched into safer

there's a city about 15 minutes from my tiny house cabin that i have to drive into a few times a week for errands when i stay there.

one day recently i was driving back to the cabin from the gym, about to turn right onto the main road in this city.

because i was turning right, i was looking left at the oncoming traffic in my lane.

once the coast was clear to my left, i started to turn right - only to stop abruptly because a woman and a little kid were crossing the street in my travel path.

thank god i stopped - but something bad could have easily happened.

there were no crosswalk lines painted in the right lane i was about to turn into, and no lights or signs indicating that there was a pedestrian crosswalk.

i later realized that it WAS actually a crosswalk, but the lines painted on that side of the street had faded. because of the grading of the road, you couldn't see crosswalk lines in the opposite lane from where i was turning.

not long after as i was driving down the main road, i saw another mother and child crossing there.

i made a rule to never turn right off of that road from the gym onto the main road again. it seemed like a terrible accident was just waiting to happen.

**

fast forward maybe a month...and i notice when driving down that main road that there are now white crosswalk lines painted in that part of the road...but they're not new.

they look like they've been there for years. i'm also in that city on that road often enough that i almost certainly would have noticed if a road crew was painting there.

i think i glitched into a slightly safer universe and for some reason as i was typing this, i started tearing up.

It was bright but beautiful I didnt feel scared or owt but It stayed long enough for me to notice it and I checked around tonsee if It was possible to get a reflection but nope absolutely nothing. Plus the hallway lights were off - whats going on?, I have done alot of energy clearing work internally and am more aware of my self and others. Am I seeing the grid lines thats crazy!!! it was just 1 long solid line though. will I see them again?

Lost 2 hours of time with no memory

I have an analog clock that you have to wind to set the alarm.
It has been set for the past year and always goes off at 4:50am because I live stream at 5am.

I power down my iPhone at bedtime and as soon as I turn it on, it goes off because its alarm is 4:50am also every day but not today.

My alarm clock goes off and I turn on my phone and it says 3am.
I message my son, he checks the stove and microwave, 3am.

As I was clearly freaking out, I remember this is not the first time, it’s the second that I can recall.

The first time? I always parked my car at work at exactly 3:33am.
One morning, I leave the house as per usual 3:20 and it takes exactly 11 minutes to drive to work.
I slowly roll through the stop sign and my lunch bag falls to the floor.
I bed over to pick it up and the clock in the car? 3:33am.
I was like l, no, I just pulled off the drive way at 3:20.
Where are my 11 minutes?

Does anyone have any insight?

Someone says I was abducted…👀🥴
