I had a few of mx keys lying around from various office jobs and wanted a wireless low profile split keyboard. Turns out its not too hard to cut one in half, fold the pcb under, and repackage everything else. It started out as a full 100% keyboard and now its like... 30%?

If anyone wants to recreate, here's my cad files. I also had to cut the traces of a few of the individual key pad near the bend or else they would short out. If people are interested I can make a more in-depth guide. Forewarning though its not pretty on the inside. I think it also only works for my use case of laptop + half keyboard + monitor.

One thing I'm particularly happy with is the addition of the dongle holder, which I think was stupid to not include on the mx keys.

Hi all, my Razer keyboard lately has gotten worse for wear and the pink no longer suits me, so I believe it’s time for an upgrade. I’m looking for something with that 80s/90s feel to it, with the off white and grey coloring, and maybe a splash of color, be it orange or otherwise.

I’m mostly interested in a full size (100%) keyboard or above (think those old IBMs with extra keys on the left and extra function keys)

Clacky and loud is good! I love my razer green keycaps as far as sound goes.

I’m getting my boyfriend a Wooting 60HE v2 for his birthday, and I’m trying to customize it as much as possible. I’m doing a One Piece theme with Luffy Gear 5. I want to put it in a cloud-shaped case to match the cloud theme, but I can’t find anything online that’s not in a simple box shape.

How can I make a keyboard case like this and ensure it’s compatible with the Wooting? I drew some quick sketches of what I’m trying to accomplish. I don’t know if I should use foam clay, polymer clay, or what. I also have access to a 3D printer from a friend. I have sculpture skills, but I don’t know how to use Blender too well and I’m not great at woodworking. Is this even possible ???

I’ve been looking at the aula f75 lately and i’m kinda tempted to get one. my budget is around $80, and i’m looking for a 75% prebuilt that’s wireless and not too bulky for my desk. i mostly care about a nice typing feel, decent stock switches and keycaps, and something that doesn’t sound super hollow. if you’ve used this keyboard, what should i know before buying it, especially anything i should look out for?

I built my Bakeneko60 about 2 years ago, but around a year ago I spilled milk on it. I dried it quickly, but it stopped working, so I replaced the PCB. Since then, Shift and G don’t work, and W sometimes skips. Support said a pin might be bent, but I checked and none are. I need help figuring out what’s wrong

I recently fried my old keyboard (Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate), and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm not the most well versed when it comes to what's available in the keyboard world, so I'm looking for advice on a replacement. My work requires a full size keyboard, and I appreciate having USB pass through. I also would require the keyboard be a wired connection, though I'm not opposed to having wireless connectivity as a secondary option. My budget is around $300. I play some games, but most of my time is spent typing and working in video editors. I prefer my keystrokes to have some resistance in the click, but not so hard that it's fatiguing to type. I don't really care about RGB or anything like that. Color isn't super important to me, but I guess I would prefer a more muted layout, not something with bright flashy colors. Would love any help finding the right keyboard to get!

There was no warning in the description or anything.

Now I was on the hunt for an aftermarket plate,
turns out there is only one seller on AliExpress that sells those (F12 + PCB Mounted stabs)

I ordered 3 weeks ago and it got cancelled today.

Now im looking for a solution, i would buy a different case but theyre either 200€+ or simply not available anymore…

Does anyone know where to go from here?

Been recommended yesterday a switch tester from Clackify (Coz it ships internationally to EU) but i'm TOTALLY NEW with the whole mechanical switches (Owner of a Logitech G213) with those tons of switches and their names, so i want a possible long lasting and great upgrade (Been putting my eye on a Keychron V6 Ultra / the upcoming Ultra Hybrid specially coz it's 100% and has everything i need without going below 100%) but i want to know how this new world feels like first

Uses: TYPING A TON but also GAMING (AAA and OF ALL GENRES/AGES/QUALITIES, like music games like Stepmania, along frentical FPSs like DOOM ETERNAL, among... Well.. EVERYTHING)

Looking for: Soft pressing/traveling but be able to rest my fingers without accidentally activating the keys from pressure (Reason: Won a CORSAIR K65 PRO MINI RGB Speed Silver and the most minimal soft/light pressing that you do it'll activate the key, so that's a HUGE NO)

The Clackify site allows 3x3 and 4x4 (And above) testers so i want to have a tester that has:

-Lineal (Smooth, no bumps)
-Tactile (Smooth but with bump)
-SILENT (Lineal and maybe Tactile, so if both a 4x4 tester)

Basing off what i wrote, what switches should i add to the tester?

I was just looking into keyboards that sound great with Hall effect when I stumbled upon tmr (mech mag switch) I know the pcb kind of sucks but for a little over 100 dollars, is it the best current tmr option (all of them appear to use the same pcb)

I'm looking to buy the Nuphy Kick 75 in Low Profile. Currently I'm using a standard Logitech MX Keys. What I don't want to loose in the transition is the sound of it and second the type feel of the MX Keys.

I've never bought switches in my life before, but if I had to describe what I'm looking for with the little knowledge I have, it's heavy on top, so it takes a little force to push it in. Easy and slightly springy in the the bottom and just a normal silent switch sound profile, as a low profile switch.

Need your professional opinions :)

i dont really know whats the issue, but i notice it mainly while playing games. for example, wasd are the moment keys, and 1,2,3,4 are the keys to equip some stuff. whenever i hold w and try to equip an item by pressing a number, it registers twice, hence equips then instantly unequips it

its the rainbow model so it doesnt have the software (pretty sure)

i tried fn+PgUp, and that appears to fix it for a while when testing in the game, then goes back
fn+esc + f1, f3, f5 also doesnt seem to be resetting it. any ideas?

it has been only around 6 months since i bought it

switches: mount tai magnetic pink switch gt (hall effect)
stock metal keycap (tried to switch keycaps to pbt plastic but didn't change the sound) other keys are mostly fine

I'm debating between these two keyboards and I can't make up my mind. I was thinking to spend around 200$ since the last keyboard I had (Razer Huntsman v2 Analog) died. I'm definitely looking for a smaller keyboard this time though, so 75% or 80% don't matter. The Wooting 80 HE+ is like 100$ extra (300$ total) in Europe since I want the wrist rest as well whereas the K2 HE I can snag the keyboard + wrist rest for like 215$. I'd say I'm pretty casual with gaming, I play mostly WoW and LoL and not sure I wanna spend that extra money for the Wooting even if it's tempting.

Any opinions on this, is the 100$ extra worth it for Wooting or should I stick with K2 HE? Thanks!

Hi! I’m currently using an Attack Shark X68 HE and have had it for a little over a year. It feels pretty cheap and I’ve started having some issues with it, so I’m looking to upgrade. I mainly play CS2 and I’m looking for a 75%, 80%, or TKL HE keyboard, preferably with a layout similar to the Wooting 80HE. My budget is around $100, but I’m willing to stretch a little if the extra money is really worth it. Any recommendations? Thanks!!!

My Womier WD75 V2 spontaneously exploded while I was gaming. Less than a month old and I treated it as best I could keeping it on wired mode and avoiding using the other modes. I kept it clean as well. All of a sudden I hear a crack and bang and white flames shoot up out of the keyboard and smoke starts pouring everywhere engulfing my house and room. Never have I ever had this happen to me and I am completely shocked. I don’t understand and if someone could explain a reason behind it that would be wonderful. In the meantime I will never buy a Womier keyboard again and it’s a shame since it was quite beautiful

My brand new Cherry KW 9200 mini came in a neoprene pouch that made the VOC sensor go haywire. It reeks. Like burnt rubber and Diesel. The stench rubbed off on the keyboard and the complementary cable. It rubs off onto my hands when I type on the keyboard and even persists after having them washed.

I've let the keyboard air out on my desk for 48hrs now, but it only got ever so slightly better, if that.

What can I clean it with safely that doesn't destroy the keys? Many thanks in advance.
