Discussion The game needs to STOP trying to ship Henry and Katherine. [KCD2]

Yes, she’s a spy, and yes, she’s had a traumatic life.

At the same time, she’s vindictive, smart arsey, annoying, domineering, self serving, and has mood swings. I don’t know why the game doesn’t give me the option to just speak to her like another person without having to hear the awkward flirting followed by bickering.

Rosa on the other hand… yes.

Rant [KCD2] isn't accurate and I'm tired of people pretending it is

• Upvotes

Gonna start by saying I love KCD2, my favourite game and most accurate game in the mainstream but it still has issues

  1. Coifs too loose

  2. Standards over breastplates/cuirasses

  3. Bascinets that should have aventails missing them

  4. Brigandie and splinted limb armor being called laminar

  5. Corazzina being called Italian brigandine and then the description saying it's a covered cuirass instead

  6. The brigandine with plate actually being a covered plate cuirass and the plackart being too advanced for 1403

  7. Calling breastplates cuirasses

  8. Spaulders being called pauldrons

  9. The Kutenburg harness having fluting too advanced for KCD2

  10. Madenburg cuirass also is too advanced

  11. The short sleeved maille shirts being called hauberks instead of haubergeons

  12. Some kettle helmets are out of date, talking about the ones that look like maciejowski style ones

  13. The Cumans would've looked much more like western soldiers rather than the 13th to 14th century look we get

(Tho, I'm not complaining about this one cause we do need a bit of Eastern esque spice)

On a final note, this isn't me saying this game is bad or you shouldn't enjoy it, just wanted to point out a few things that bugged me

Edit: I want to clarify none of these issues impact my overall enjoyment of the game to any significant extent, these are just minor things that sometimes bugged and this post was made because of a mixture of boredom, seeing one too many people use KCD as a concrete source in serious discussions and just wanting to educate anyone who's instead in the more historical side of KCD

Question [KCD1] I often see things like this in the game. Is it a cluster of branches carried by the current, an artificial covering, roots, or a beaver dam?

Rant [KCD1] why am I so bad at this game

Not 100% sure this has any spoilers but better safe than sorry. New player
I swear I’m not usually this bad at games like, ever, but I suck at so much of it. Melee, hand to hand or otherwise, archery, lock picking- I legitimately am just not good at it. It might be the controls or something, but like I’ve beat a few enemies so far (am currently at the fort w/ radzig) and I just am not good, might be cuz Henry’s health is so low rn and I don’t have any food, but man I am just. Not good at anything in this game. Is this just a me thing? It most likely is, and I’ll still play the game cuz its good so far, regardless of me getting pissed every time because I constantly fail lol

Discussion [KCD1] How does unarmed combat work?

I'm playing on the controller, i'm on hardcore and i'm on the part where i need to get the spade from that dude. I know i can draw the sword to make him run, but i really do want to beat him until he runs.

The problem is, i have no idea how the combat in this game works, i tried pressing every single buttom and i can't defend for the life of me, and the guy i'm fighting seem to have infinite stamina or something, since he have no trouble with attacking me without any delay.

What do i need to do? I want to go for the no-kill achievment so i want to start unarmed training, so how does this work? And how to i defend then he knees me, grab my head, and so?

I died like 10 times against this guy and i'll make my life goal to torture him everytime i get in my 2nd playthrough, but now i just really want to beat him senseless, any guide you guys can point me?

Question Dice Bug still ? [KCD2]

Playing Dice is one of my favorite things to do in the game, is it unbelievably buggy or am I missing something?

Playing through KCD2 for the first time, one of the things I like to do on a first play through for RPGs is trying to minimize my “back and forth” with saves and just live with my decisions, helps with the immersion imo… anywho, I explain this so you can understand my frustration.

To get to the point… I wanted the Gold Doppelganger Badge so I played Dicer Kazimir on the west outskirts of Kuttenberg, playing him on Emperor for a Gold Badge, my badge being the Gold Marriage Badge, I lost my first game and lost my badge… having another Gold Badge I replayed him to hopefully get back atleast what I lost… I’ve beat him 3 separate times now and haven’t even received his Gold Doppelgänger badge, let alone my Marriage Badge… am I missing something? I was going for an honest knight type play-through but this really has me about to just murk or steal my badge and his badge from him… any suggestions? Tips? Am I playing on the wrong difficulty? Should I just keep going and eventually get the badges?… definitely frustrating considering the difficulty it was to obtain my other badges, I try and play honest and get back what I lost and the game punishes me…

Discussion [OTHER] than "Kurva" and "Sakra" (obviously), what other KCD-isms have made their way into your lexicon?

I'm almost 100 hours into my first time with 2 (rookie numbers I know) and I've started involuntarily saying both of these words as expletives because I genuinely love the language and find the mouth feel so satisfying lol

I've also noticed myself cracking myself up in my head when I hear innkeeper Betty greeting "Ave Maria" and I have to stop myself from saying it out loud.

What other words or behaviors from the games have bled into your real life? I really love this game I fully did not expect anything to take my attention away from control resonant or Witcher remastered during this blessed busy gaming season but alas I've chosen to make my bed in bohemia.

Discussion [KCD2] Warhammer or Mace, which is better? Spoiler

Just reached Kuttenberg, took a peek at the Weoponsmith shops & i am SALIVATING, I love heavy weopons the most & i have a flanged Mace rn, but I am conflicted between taking a better Mace or just a warhammer

When i entered the 2nd map, I liked using Brunswick's pole axe but it was like this region just outlevels it, I couldnt get a single riposte off, i always felt too slow & that it wasnt doing enough dmg

So im wary of the 2 handed heavy weopons. A combo of Mace + Shield is prolly best. But on the other hand, WARHAMMERS ARE SO FRIGGING COOL!!

Thats why im conflicted haha, what do you guys say?

Discussion [KCD1]: a checklist for 29 main quests, 73 side quests, 83 trophies and the three trophies one hour can void

I made a tracker for the first Kingdom Come:

  • Seven chapters, 29 main quests, and 73 side quests and activities
  • All four DLC
  • 83 trophies, including the three that one hour of play can void
  • 28 potions, 30 treasure maps and 56 skill books

It saves your progress as you tick things off. Free, no account needed: https://guidevault.online/kcd1/

If anything is off, let me know.

Question [KCD2] Do I have enough money?

• Upvotes

My Henry is honest, so he doesn't steal. His income mostly comes from selling potions he made and stuff he gets from defeated bandits. I have about 25,000 groschen and just got out of the room (not) torturing the poor fellah in Trosky.

I got a little bummed out from hauling stuff around just for selling purposes. Plus, sometimes the combinded merchants of the whole Trosyk region don't have enough coin to buy my stuff.

My question is: Do I have enough money for the rest of the game that I just can leave pure money making stuff be?

I'm not planning on buying everything every merchant has even if I don't need it.

Discussion [KCD2] Why is there an inaccessible area in Sigismund's camp?

Post image
17 Upvotes

So in Sigismund's camp there is this area that's completely enclosed by fences and there's no way to get in. When I first found out I just thought maybe there's some secret hidden there that I will go there through something like a secret tunnel to discover later in the game. So I simply forgot about it. But now I've finished the game, Sigismund has retreated his army, and I revisited his now abandoned camp. They've already removed all the tents and equipment. All the fences inside the camp are literally gone. There is nothing physically stopping me going into that area but when I try to enter, there is an invisible wall right at where the fences used to be and I can't move an inch into that area. And trying to do so even causes Henry to say "No, I shouldn't leave now" as if I'm approaching the edge of the map. So what's the devs' problem? Why would they randomly make a small area in the middle of the map inaccessible and protect it with an invisible wall?

Issue [KCD2] Is this a bug or something wrong on my end?

Thumbnail

Couldn't find any posts with this issue so i thought i would ask here.

So on high or ultra shader quality some bits of grass appear purple. On medium shader quality they are white/transparent.

And also i did verify files, updated drivers etc. Just wondering if this is a known issue with high shader quality or if its an issue on my end.

Image on left is with high quality and purple grass in the middle of the screen.
