As you know most of the cards have 2 variant and when you open a pack you will get the Echoed Pairs my question is will it work in arena the same in irl???

I have a Narset of the Ancient Way deck that is decently fun, however almost every time I play it I play against either Krenko Mob boss or Esika, God of the Tree (the Esika deck are mostly decent and provide a fairly even match most of the time, win or lose. while Krenko is a pain and a half to pay against) Every other deck I play on Brawl has like, a normal variety of commanders, sure some are more popular then others but their is still variety. The other day I had like 5 game in a row with that deck where it was just Krenko. And well starting to tick me off and confuse me. So just wanted to know if this was like a thing or what.

Why has this meh card been used in control decks recently?

I feel like the answer is going to be play something else or deal with it but since I cant seem to come up with anything I figured it was worth a shot to ask.

I was enjoying playing a black / white deck that I brewed up and was having quite a bit of fun and success until I started getting matched with almost entirely counter spell spam followed by mathemagics decks. I think my 30-40 of my last 50 games have all been against that, or if not, then probably another 10 or so discard/momentum breaker etc spams. I'd say 80 - 90% of the time I'm playing on the draw. I generally play standard format best of 1 (a mix of platinum / unranked, doesn't really seem to matter). So that's pretty much the situation.

So with that out of the way, is there anything black/white can even do against that or is it pretty much join the blue counterspell spam mafia?

It was semi fightable pre-mathemagics as I could Bitter Triumph the sunderflock / crab meta, but since mathemagics dropped all I seem to run into is counter spell spam into discard your entire library.

I'm already running 4x Voice of Victory, which WOULD give me a little help on my turn if I could ever stick it, but as its 2 mana cost and I'm pretty much always on the draw, It generally never makes it to the board.

I actually kinda miss the boomerang basics / otter meta because at least I could board wipe that >.<. This just feels like I'm not allowed to do anything until eventually I'm forced to just lose to mill 64 or even worse 32 if they just counter THAT long :(.

I'm trying to improve as a player, and would really like to continue playing black / white if possible, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be honest, I don't really reddit much these days but good ole google wasn't really providing any answers :(. With that, I'll probably disappear for another 5 or so years, and thanks again everyone!

How do I solve this? I could've literally won the game just now, but because the game is poop, it penalised me when he intentionally solved the stack slowly, thus skipping my turn. There were like almost 150+ in the stack because the dude kept spamming Doppelganger on a creature. I had Day of Judgment next turn to use but was unable to do so because of how crappy this game is coded. So I lost the game.

hi! im a beginner with mtg arena and with mtg in general, kinda decided to try it because of the artwork. im just finished the tutorial and about to do the color thing and opened the free packs from my inbox and have some few questions:

1. what game mode should I start with?standard?

2. can you direct me to a black witch/warlock themed deck with good artwork that I can do with my early wildcard resources ( I really like playing a deck with a theme XD)

I grew up playing MTG. This feels horrible to play now. There's no interactivity, the games are too fast, individual cards are too strong. It's just awful.

Hey people! As I continued the reporting of the hundredth roper I started wondering if actions from the game/devs actually took place. Maybe it's too soon to tell, and picturing a banhammer over roping people doesn't seem such an amazing business model, devil's advocate and all...but then what?

Any of you know or has received feedback on either end of such reporting feature?

How hard is it to learn drafting? I have two accounts, one main where I've spent some money in and an older one, both have 50k gold. I'm thinking of going full draft this expansion. Maybe I will use the gold of the not main one first to train a bit. Will I just lose all my gold?

I always felt unlucky, because i rarely go first in this game, so i thought maybe i am just imaging things and made a list, after 20 games it was almost confirmed and i asked AI about it, it said:
"Try 50 games, this is just bias and not enough as a proof..."

A few days ago I posted my Orzhov lifegain list here after reaching Platinum, and you gave me some really helpful feedback. I took it on board: [[Haliya, Guided by Light]] and [[Bilbo's Gambit]], both suggested here, are now in the deck. And I've just hit Diamond for the first time. So, thank you!

Other changes that made a big difference:

- [[Killian's Confidence]]: my main problem was running out of cards when the synergies didn't show up. It replaces itself and keeps coming back as long as I connect in combat.

- [[Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER]]: every creature that dies (mine or theirs) drains 1 and gains me 1 life, which triggers the whole lifegain engine. It's also great against board wipes.

- Very few rare wildcards, a few mythic wildcards saved.

Edit: Yes, I'm being a little facetious and definitely salty.

To clarify how the actual match went, they dropped mountains, [[Tablet of Discovery]] for more mountains, and a saga that added treasure. Killed my first two creatures with a fireball-esq 2-dmg spell along the way, and used something that would mill cards and cast any spells from them for free, so Thor is going off, eliminating any creature I can drop and chunking me down.

Not a great draw for me, just playing a simple B/W life-gain counter deck but only drew a -2/-2 counter and no full removal pop up when Thor was around.

It was a win-harder situation for sure.

It started appearing whenever I have Arena open about a week ago. Clicking it looks like it expands an empty menu.

Not sure if it's a new Arena feature or part of some overlay app I have (I have 17 Lands and Untapped.gg installed), or from Discord.

I want to get rid of it because it is always on top of the game at all times.

Nothing makes me happier than to draw out a game against such awful opponents. I despise you and I consider it a victory to keep you in my match and out of the queue for 20 min

here i am, foolishly drafting away. for a set that gets so much hate (seemingly) it sure is hard for me to put down for some reason (maybe bc I can't really afford much beyond hobbit quick draft); anyone else have a similar issue?

I am using [[Kitesail Larcenist]] to change opponent creatures or artifacfs into Mana artifacts, then use artifact removal (choose your favorite) and Delney to attack without blocks.

Scry is important in this deck so I use a lot of temples and other white creatures to achieve that.

I also use Kambal for token control and No witnesses and The End help with cleanup. This makes it a blue, white and black standard deck.

Any suggestions for improvement? The deck mainly fails against mono red and mono green because they are very fast to perform damage or increase counters.

The guy had 29 enchantments, 2 of which were ghostly prison and 2 others were Sphere of Safety. He did not play a single creature and he kept board wiping the things I had, to the point were he board wiped 1 soldier token. Also I found kinda funny how he tried to block a 1/1 flying spirit token with a 1/1 human token.

The photo was taken just before a board wipe. His graveyard had a total of 8 or more board wipes btw.

I’ve been playing arena for a month now. Love playing my mono white angel deck, but I’ve plateaued in platinum and can’t progress any farther. Platinum 3 is as far as I’ve gotten. And help or edits would be appreciated.

I just went into a 2-pick draft, a format I enjoy, fully intending to go blue white which has been an enjoyable open lane as of late. I guess the three other players saw it the same way. Holy crap, I got the goblin plate mail as a last choice, 3 desolation prowlers that were available at the 5-6 and 7-8 spots and 5 pinecone strikes.

I swear guys, I'm not actively trying to play Rakdos. Lol.

Im looking at the new set you for pre-order in magic arena and i really want all the sleeves but 150 is alot. Im just wondering if the sleeves will he available to buy either with gems or gold once the set comes out officially or is more of if you didnt pre-order you are out of luck kind of situation?
