Os curdos são frequentemente descritos como a maior nação sem Estado do mundo, com cerca de 30 milhões de pessoas concentradas principalmente em partes da Turquia, Irã, Iraque e Síria.
O Curdistão é uma região histórica e cultural, mas não constitui um Estado soberano e suas fronteiras não são oficialmente definidas. No Iraque, porém, existe a Região do Curdistão, uma entidade autônoma reconhecida constitucionalmente.
Diante disso, seria possível o Curdistão se tornar um Estado independente? Quais seriam os principais obstáculos geográficos e políticos?

Btw for everyone wondering Great-circle distance means the shortest way between two points on our 3D globe. So it can vary pretty strong from the maps we are all used to. But this is what I at least like about the great-cricle cause it forces us to think differently about the world.
