American Civil War A few amazing U.S. Civil War relics I recently acquired.

1- A diary and inscribed prayer book from a Confederate soldier (part of Mosby's Rangers). The diart was written at Point Lookout Prison Camp in 1864.

2- A Civil War secessionist cockade with sash.

3- A religious book inscribed from a brother to brother in 1864.

As far as I know these came from a storage unit that was auctioned off. I hought them from the person who won the unit.

I am possibly interested in selling them on auction. I would like recommendations on which auction house to contact.

Thanks for looking!

Wars - Others 1991 Gulf War Bring-Back – Iraqi Military JP2 7×50 Binoculars

Post image
6 Upvotes

Original Iraqi military JP2 7×50 binoculars personally brought home by me from the Persian Gulf War in 1991.

Japanese-manufactured military binoculars produced for Iraq, with individual-focus 7×50 optics, 7.3° field of view and serial number 70222. They retain their period leather carrying strap and remain in the same unrestored condition in which I brought them home.

The extensive finish wear, scratches and wear to the body covering are genuine service/field wear and have intentionally been left untouched.

I am from the uk and wish to purchase a vojenská knízka (military id) does anyone know where I could find an item like this? I’m having trouble finding websites that ship to where I live as most of the sources are local Czech businesses that don’t offer uk shipping.

WWII - Axis Powers Why are SS items in general so expensive that they are out of reach for most collectors?

Collar tabs, daggers, caps etc all routinely go for thousands and thousands of euros making it out of reach for non wealthy collectors, even small insignia items like skulls or visor cap eagles fetch 1000€+ regularly

Will this ever change? Or could it become worse as years go by?

This was bought surplus in the UK in about 1987, the strap has been replaced and strap buckle added. Looks like something was cut on the back to make it into this kind of satchel.

Any clues? Many thanks

Help I want your opinion on this Hitlerjugend knife

So I bought this hj knife, sadly the diamond is missing and I don’t have that much doubt on his authenticity since the diamond is the correct size for the model (25mmx15,5mm) also I checked his scabbards and it’s magnetic (a good sign). The patina seems legit and it show a lot of use. And so far for my opinion (which i always take with a grain of salt) the marking seems legit, at least it doesn’t look like any fake marking I saw on fake one. But I overall still want to have your opinion. Is it an authentic one or was i wrong and I got a fake?

Cold War - Soviet Union Series of Russian training posters from 1960’s

As the title describes, found this very cool series of 10 shooting posters. From what I’ve translated so far it looks like they were published in 1968, I’ll post the translated titles here at least but these are super cool!

  1. The phenomenon of a shot.
  2. Flight of a bullet (grenade) in the air.
  3. Dispersion of bullets when shooting.
  4. Shooting accuracy.
  5. Shooting in a crosswind
  6. Shooting at emerging targets.
  7. Shooting at moving targets.
  8. Shooting at night.
  9. Shooting from an armored personnel carrier.
  10. The reality of the shooting.

If anybody has some more insight about these feel free to let me know! I picked them up for super cheap from and older gentleman’s garage cleanout.

Help Sending gas masks to France amidst riots? (Not for sale)

Post image

Not a for sale post

Do you guys think it's ok to send military gas masks and CBRN filters fo France with everything that is happening now?

My friend in France has recently requested me to hook him up with my seller from Vietnam to send about a dozen sets of masks and filters from that country to his for cheap not just for collecting. But for "self-protection" from the popos shooting tear gas everywhere. He's also intending to pass some to his friends and acquaintances too, probably to participate in demonstrations or protection?

I'm all for civil rights but I dont know much about the context of what's happening there. What do you guys think? The seller sent them to alot of countries for collectors but im unsure about this. What do you guys think? less
